Ive had the pleasure of being a Marie Galvin Fine Millinery client for more than 15 years. Marie has always had something to adorn me for every age and stage of my life. Her imagination spans generations. From weddings, to babys first birthday, to graduation and everything in between, shes provided the finest bespoke millinery anyone could ask for. Her customer service is impeccable and her patience is peerless. She is truly committed to each and every client leaving her boutique as their most confident selves. Marie is a treasure and Boston is lucky to have her.
I walk by Maries window everyday as I work around the corner. I decided to stop in a couple of weeks ago as I know my partner would love one of her headbands and Mothers Day is just around the corner. Marie is wonderfully welcoming and eccentric. Her shop is full of beautiful pieces (the kind you see in movies, horse races and royal weddings) and she took the time to ask about my girlfriends style and created a beautiful, original headband that I know she is going to love.
Absolutely stunning creations, works of art! The hats, turbans/headbands and now masks are so beautiful. The fabrics are second to none, the shop has all the charms, and Marie is just a lovely person all around. A South End gem for sure - we are so lucky to have such talented people in this neighborhood!I love my green velvet turban & vintage tattoo mask! ♡
It is a joy to work with Marie. I started wearing the braid headbands at the beginning of the pandemic. I am still wearing them and getting a lot of compliments in NYC. They are very comfortable to wear, good quality . I am now addicted to her products.Marie you have a big fan in Newyork!
Ive been a longtime fan of Maries beautiful hats for years and I only have positive things to say about her work. Her pieces are well constructed and always perfectly comfortable. I am grateful that she has continued to created wonderful pieces to keep us feeling fashionable during a time of social distancing and mask wearing. Nothing like one of her gorgeous fascinators or headbands for a virtual celebration to help me feel more festive. And I love the masks that shes added to her line. Her masks are so comfortable, thoughtfully made (think less foggy glasses, etc.) and I always get compliments on them. Marie and her shop are really special and well worth checking out.
I absolutely love everything about Marie Galvin’s shop! I have an assortment of headbands and always come back wanting more. They have started to become a staple in my wardrobe and I look forward to building my collection. If you are looking for amazing customer service and stunning handmade accessories, Marie Galvin’s shop has got you covered.
In addition to being one of the most talented milliners in the world, Marie is also incredibly warm and kind. She has helped me perfect many outfits by suggesting which of her works will look best, and also helped me by even suggesting jewelry, shoe, and bag options. Everyone should have at least one Marie Galvin piece in their wardrobe.
I have been a client of Maries for years, purchasing my first fascinator at the Boston Ahts fest way back when (2010, perhaps?). She is always such a delight, and when I got married one of my first stops was to her for a piece to wear for that day. She outfitted both my mother and now MIL, and her pieces really pulled everything together. I have since moved to SF but Marie is so kind to send me beautiful turbands and hats. If you dont already have one of her pieces, I dont know what youre waiting for. Maries creations will complete your outfit, and will last you years to come.
Maries studio is truly a Boston gem on so many levels: customer service, the craftsmanship and beauty of the hats, and the masks she pivoted towards making in this pandemic are beautiful and so well made (no fogging!). I first learned of Maries studio when I fulfilled a bucket list item and went to the Kentucky Derby. My friends and I went to Marie and she worked with us on designing the perfect hats to go with our outfits - we brought our dresses to the shop and it was a consultation from head to toe. I ended up with 2 beautiful hats and fascinators (derby and oaks) that were so comfortable to wear all day/night, and just gorgeous - I received so many compliments from friends. I have to say that Marie was just so easy to work with, and it really was just a FUN experience to buy the hats (back in the days we could all congregate together). Then once the pandemic started, I saw Marie posting that she was making masks, and I contacted her through Instagram, and immediately heard responses on how to pick one up. I ended up with probably 10 in total between me and friends, all different truly unique and beautiful fabrics. They are so well made with a pocket for a filter and the nose guard to prevent glasses fog. Living in the city I have a large collection of masks (sigh), but Maries are no question the most beautiful out of the bunch. So I urge anyone looking for headwear (hats, headbands, fascinators) to visit Marie’s shop and online pages - and once we are allowed to attend events again and dress up, I will definitely be visiting Marie :)
Just shopped at Marie Galvin’s beautiful shop/studio today and felt compelled to share what a wonderful experience it was. A friend and I were hoping to get beautiful pieces for a wedding in London and Marie had so many to choose from. She was very kind and friendly - and you can tell she loves what she does and it shows - her pieces are wonderful, enough to make me want to wear a hat much more often. Thanks again for a lovely experience!
Marie Galvin makes the most incredible pieces. Shopping with her is an experience like shopping use to be. She helps pick out pieces for your coloring, face structure and shows how to correctly place the piece, with a tilt, where to tilt etc. It is a one on one experience that is difficult to come by in todays shopping. I personally own approx. 20 of her pieces and love every one. I have paid a lot of money at high end stores for hats where you get the hat dropped in a bag and the salespeople are virtually no help. I have never had a problem contacting Marie but I also know that she has been invited to be part of some wonderful events like the Peabody Essex Museum, curated by Stephen Jones. When these things come up because she isnt a shop pumping out run of the mill pieces once in a while she isnt available - otherwise she is chained to her worktable covered in feathers ;)
There are amazing and beautiful hats here. If you are interested in very well-made things to put on your head you should definitely check it out.
Marie Galvin is an amazing and talented milliner with incredible skills. Her designs are so artistic and one of a kind. My wife is a longtime fan of Galvinized HEADWEAR and when she wears her designs she gets tons of compliments. It always makes me smile to see her feel so confident and beautiful. This past May, she had a last minute invite to an event that required a fabulous hat. Marie custom made a hat last minute and worked well into the night to insure delivery of a most amazing hat. It quite literally was the most admired hat at the event. Cant thank you enough Marie Galvin for your stunning creations and how they make the Mrs feel. Galvinized Headwear is a Boston gem.
I am a frequent client at GALVIN-ized Headwear as I attend many horse racing events, garden parties and weddings. Kentucky Derby and the Galway races are my top two favorite events to attend. Maries work commands so many compliments from both men and women attendees. Not alone does Marie Galvin design and handcraft each hat and fascinator with incredible attention to details, she also helps style ladies from head to toe. Her fashion advice on what to wear with her designs is always spot on. Not alone are her designs outstanding, her customer service skills are top notch. Both charming and honest, Marie never tries to sell me her most expensive hat, but the one that she feels is perfect for me and the occasion. Her beautiful boutique in the South End is worth a visit. A must see filled with must haves.
Last year I bought three pieces from Galvin-ized Headware and absolutely love them; my experience in-store was pleasant. I received numerous compliments and thoroughly enjoyed wearing them. A few months later I called/emailed the store to purchase more headpieces for events - Im out of state - and not once did anyone contact me. After repeated attempts I finally gave up, which was maddening because of the money and press I directly and indirectly gave this store. I now use other milliners because 1.) its impossible place an order and 2.) the business is incredibly unprofessional.
