This spot is my favorite. I eat in a lot of restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The stuff is very helpful and the food they cook is so appetizing. I am always happy to have a good meal in this restaurant. I recommend this place with pleasure.

I went to Higher Ground today because it was near where I was already running an errand. I ordered two plain bagels with cream cheese, one chai latte, and one caramel macchiato. I was the only customer and I waited thirty minutes, from 12:15 to 12:45pm, for the items to be prepared. In the meantime, I attempted to use the bathroom, which an employee unlocked for me. The toilet was clogged with fecal water overflowing. I did not use the bathroom and informed the one person working that it was out of order. My large iced chai latte was prepared using one small bag of Tazo brand chai. Needless to say, it was borderline flavorless when poured over ice with soy milk. It pains me to give this poor review. I am enthusiastic about supporting small and local businesses. The shop was overall (aside from the bathroom) very clean, sparsely decorated with new-looking furniture (tables, chairs, countertop, couch). The a/c was either not in use or not working, as the air inside was hot and stuffy. I would not voluntarily eat inside or stay to do work there. The bagels and macchiato were fine.

Pleasant surprise! I called ahead first to see if they were open after reading some of the reviews. I gave my order to a polite lady over the phone, I told her Id be there in 5 minutes since I live fairly close. When I got there my food was ready the service was very nice and the coffee was better than expected. The place was super clean. I will be coming back.

Horrible coffee!!I ordered an iced vanilla latte. When I received my coffee it tasted weird and funny. I looked at the vanilla syrups and the bottle said sugar free on it. I kindly asked if the vanilla syrup that was put in my coffee was sugar free and the girl working lied to my face and said it was normal. The coffee sucked and I had to throw it away because sugar free things give me a headache.

Not sure how this place has even remotely good reviews.. staff is not friendly whatsoever, coffee is mediocre for the price.

Used to love getting food there but todays salad looks like it was cut last week. Not good guys. Need to be consistent. Wont order take out again. Need to see it first before paying for it.

Passed this place a million times, finally came in today. Very cozy atmosphere, I had the breakfast special which came with a nice size excellent tasting coffee. Sit on the coach, sip your coffee, and read the paper its worth stopping in.

Ive had a breakfast sandwich and coffee here three times or so and each time has been a great experience. One particular staff member is super friendly and always offers to top off your coffee - Im ashamed to say I didnt get her name but shes from Virginia.My issue with this place has to be management.. Ive come here two other times during supposed open hours and they were closed. Google said they were open - the sign on their door said they should be open - but they were not open. This morning was the same issue. As I was parking, I noticed a Higher Ground employee (could be owner - not sure) going into the cafe yet when I finished parking and went to go inside, the door was locked. This was 8:15 - 15 minutes after opening. I was hoping to quickly get a sandwich and coffee and be on my way but instead I wasted my time.Going forward, Ill have to call first or completely avoid going near AM opening hours.

Ive eaten here twice. The first time I went in I asked for a piece of chicken or chicken breast. I was told it was precut for their salads and I said it was fine. When I received my order 15 minutes later I was expecting it took as long as they did because it was grilling - it turns out it was just that processed precooked fajita chicken you get in a bag in the freezer section of the grocery store. The second time I ordered a Cuban sandwich. I ordered it for pick-up 30 mins in advance because I was warned by another customer the service is slow at lunch time. I picked up my sandwich to go and when I opened it 5 minutes later I found two hairs on the sandwich one human and one appeared to be pet hair. The sandwich was also soggy, missing cheese on some parts, and was served with chips which were also soggy from being in a non-vented closed container. I dont think Ill be eating from there again and wouldnt recommend and if so as a last resort.

I waited almost 30 minutes or more, and then, when I asked about my order to the cashier she said I dont have meat for the sandwich, 30 minutes later, she have to tell me that when I was ordering my food, but nothing. The worst, she made everything for three people who were behind me ! then I asked for my money back and she couldnt do it and then she getting mad and being rude whit me. Horrible service.

I went there today for the first time ever after seeing positive reviews online and was planning to eat with a friend. I was running in from another meeting and needed to use the restroom while I waited for her so we could order and sit together. When I proceeded to open the restroom door, a staff member yelled across the restaurant that the bathroom is for guests only. I was surprised but replied that I am a guest and will be ordering but need to use the restroom first. She shook her head and informed me that she will get in trouble if she allows me to use the bathroom. “I don’t make the rules.” I was stunned! Needless to say, I felt incredibly unwelcome. I met my girlfriend on the curb and we decided to go eat elsewhere. If you are determined to make sure a brand new guest has a negative experience before they even get a chance to look at the menu, you can guarantee they will never return.

Worst service Ive gotten in a while, walk in to hear the cashier complaining how she went to bed at 530a.m., then when I place my order she has a stank attitude. I place my order and she fs it up and then brings me the wrong sandwich and says the wrong sandwich so when I go look in bag shes like u touched it so what do you want to do.... lady sucks all around and attitude can eat a dick

Glad I found this place in Boynton Beach. Ive tried their house brewed coffee, delicious. Couldnt go wrong with Italian coffee. Café Latte & Cappuccino are even better... Espresso is perfectly brewed and milk frothed into right consistency and temperature. Staffs are always pleasant and helpful. Wait til you see the interior, cozy, warm, inviting and very clean. Sandwiches are great as well. My favorites are Cuban sandwich and chicken salad wrap. Higher Ground Café is definitely way better than starbucks.

Awful management - rude, neglecting of the customer. I have arrived at the place several times at the supposed opening of the cafe, yet i am always met with closed doors
