Biggest pancakes I have EVER seen. So big that I ended up giving one away and still bringing over half of the one I had home for dinner. All of the portions were huge. We had a large party, and our server was fast, courtesy, and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised!
Second visit there, very good, very friendly atmosphere, had the corned beef hash eggs and toast,w/grits. Probably would have gave it 5⭐ but the toast was a little overcooked, and you can tell they dont season their grits when theyre cooking, had to add a ton of salt because they were bland, but spoiled by the grits at Tripps diner 😁.
Stumbled upon this place out one day, craving breakfast. Everything was so delicious. Definitely a hidden gem. Great and friendly service. I ordered the corned beef breakfast w tomato slices, got almost a whole tomato cut up! My kiddo got a pancake-- biggest cake Ive ever seen. This place hit the spot! Its the home cooked feeling and southern portion sizes!
The service was awesome, the food portions were larger than expected explaining & justifying the price of the food, that is the only reason Im giving this restaurant 3 stars. The taste of the food was less than desirable. Everything just lacked taste, it wasnt bland it just had a taste that wasnt consisted with what was on my plate. The place is popular, not sure why but a month or two from now I will go again just to give it another change. Maybe the cook was having a bad day or the food was on the brink of spoiling
I have been coming to this place regularly for several years now because of the quality of the food, speed of service, and value for the prices. Yesterday I ordered the same breakfast meal I usually order, which included biscuits and gravy. Unfortunately, I found hair in the gravy, something that absolutely kills my appetite, so I left most of the meal uneaten. I was unable to get anyones attention, so I simply paid and left. It is unlikely that I will ever go back.
Only reason I am giving a 2 star is for the very nice hostess. Besides that our waitress just hates her life and it shows in her service. Food is a big quantity of garbage. Food is bland and taste wierd. Nothing was good the sad thing is that it was $56 for 3 people for breakfast. Very disappointed. Never coming back.
This place is always busy, that should tell you how good the food is, service is friendly and great but remember that they are busy. The food never really takes long and they keep the coffee cups filled. I love their corned beef breakfast, have to order the half because I have a hard time finishing even that, everything is cooked to order and is fresh, if you live in the Brandon area for more ten years or more and you dont know about this place, then you should really pay them a visit, I go there just about every other weekend for breakfast for quite some time, havent had a bad one yet. Highly recommend.

Yall!!!! The most important meal of the day is breakfast and Recipe Box Family Diner is the way to go. Speedy service. Very nice staff. Today was my first time visiting and my waitress Brittany met my foodie character. When she came with my order tears immediately filled my eyes. Bread is my nemesis but that French toast was EVERYTHING!!! Syrup was warm, bread was fluffy eggs were wrapped so eloquently with cheese!!!! Bacon was crispy and they even have turkey sausage patties!!! Brittany stayed on my coffee cause keeping my cup fresh and provided me with splenda!!! This is your breakfast spot to go to. I did not get the cashiers name but she was on so polite and very attentive and speedy with each guest that walked through the door. I will be back again and next time Im having the the the pancake the size of the plate!!! Pictured is there 9.99 French toast special that comes with two slices of French toast, eggs and your choice of sausage, bacon, Turkey sausage patties, or ham. I added the chesse to my eggs and the turkey sausage patties!!! MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF!!!! KEEP PUTTING YOUR SOUL INTO THE FOOD!!! THAT WAS ALL LOVE!!!
Been going there for over 10 years. Always a treat. Never had a bad meal. This is a mom and pop place. Homey and friendly. Going again soon with a new neighbor.

Eggs, good. Ham, good. Pancakes? Large but bland. Good prices, bad service. Waitress was really rude, kind of a B! We felt very unwelcomed by the staff. I saw how they treated their regulars compared to us. It was our first time, and we wouldve tried again if it wasnt for the staff and how they made us feel. My family is always polite and respectful when we go out. We expect the same in return. Just didnt get it from this place. Just speaking from my own experience. Take it for what is worth.
Really great local breakfast place. The service is really fast and the prices are really cheap but the food is still great quality. The hot chocolate that we had has a little sweet for my taste and for the price you only get one cup which is fine. Be warned that the pancakes are humongous!! My mom had the stuffed french toast and she said it was really good as well.
Fast service! Food was also good. Less cream cheese on the stuffed French toast and a bit more fruit filling would be better. Also I asked if they served country ham and was told YES. After the server brought my food the ham was just the regular buffet ham. I did mention this to the server just to give her mental note this was not country ham and it appeared she did know it wasnt but brought it to me anyway. I would have ordered bacon instead had she been honest. My dog will enjoy the ham.Other than that, my eggs were cooked perfectly, the French toast was browned nicely and enjoyed the large serving of hash browns. My husband had the Box Club. It was huge. The French fries had a slight fish taste like they are fried in the sane fryer as fish. We will go back and try something different next time.

The Recipe Box captures the very essence of the word Diner! It is our go to stop of breakfast all day and some times to get interested in the daily special at lunch time.For my regular followers, the floors are Not Sticky, Bathrooms CLEAN and the Service is great. There is not an empty coffee cup in the house.Great selection of menu items, something for everyone.If the daily special is Grouper Bites, don’t bother with the menu!!A+ all the way around!!

Hard to find a decent diner in Riverview and this is also a bit away but worth the tripThe service is good, and out fav is that they offer 1/2 servings at 1/2 price which is perfect for those days when you are not super hungry. Food is also good, maybe not gourmet or fancy, but good ole home cooked meals.

Been coming here for a few years. Never had an issue until today. We got on the waitlist and sat outside waiting. There were some people ahead of us waiting outside and the lady that sits everyone down was coming out and calling their names as usual. At one point she came out real quick and turned around without saying anything. We were the only ones outside at that point, so found it odd that she didnt call a name.We went inside to sit down and wait. Noticed someone who came after us got sitted so we asked about our table. The lady said shed call us, to which my husband said no you didnt. She then went on to tell him that she has a pretty big mouth and that she called our name.I think she was pretty rude. Shes never been friendly but weve never had an issue before until today.
Amazing! They dont mess around here. The French toast is out of this world. The service we received was superior!! The food was out in less than 10 minutes. They dont give you 2 slices of bacon here haha I think my order had 6 slices!! Thays whats up! Thick delicious bacon.. not that skinny stuff! Very highly recommend!!!
Breakfast is great. The food was very tasty and I dont even like breakfast that much. The pancakes are huge and the price is unbeatable. The restaurant is busy so there is long wait times but it is worth it. Inside is cozy and has an old time feel. The waiter we had was great. Really friendly and attentive. The reason for the 4 stars instead of five was the lady who sat us. She was rude which is sad because shes the first person you see. Except for that small bad experience I definitely suggest people to come and enjoy this small spot.

The food was okay, service was acceptable. The portion sizes are ridiculous. Sure everyone wants to have plenty of food for their money but nobody wants to throw away more than they were able to eat. In my opinion they are very wasteful by giving you way more food than you could possibly eat. Maybe they should lessen their portion sizes and help feed the homeless.

Feels like a classy diner with superb food, excellent service, and very reasonable prices. My favorite breakfast is the stuffed French Toast with two eggs and ham. I am never able to finish it all and take a to-go box with me every time. Their lunch sandwiches are to die for. Recipe Box is my all-time place to dine. 10 stars out of 5. 😃

I am going to explain the full experience from beginning to end.When we first went in we were not greeted pleasantly, granted they were quite busy. But it just felt pretty unwelcoming. Once we were sat in a corner booth we quickly noticed how packed it was, I would like to mention I am aware it is a diner, and I’ve been to plenty that still honor the some what “6 feet apart” rule. Maybe not even a full 6 feet, but at least where my back is not right on top of the person behind me. Our server greeted us relatively quickly THE FIRST TIME and asked for our drinks which went quickly. However, once we asked for an extra minute or two she would be gone for long periods. Once we finally got our food order in the food was out very quickly! This was a bonus; however, the quality did leave me and my girlfriend both feeling very very queasy afterwards. Our waitress didn’t interact much with us to at all really, she visited many other tables without an issue, but we felt very pushed aside in the corner. The atmosphere was very crowded and the lights were exceptionally dim. Now, about the food, my girlfriend and I both agree there wasn’t anything FANTASTIC about it. I had the country fried steak with gravy, it was a soggy coating and I ate more of the gravy than the actual steak because there was so much gravy. I also had over medium eggs and hash browns-both of which were exceptionally bland and I was unable to finish. I had an English muffin as well, which was the only part of my meal I actually enjoyed. My girlfriend had the Full Mama Breakfast which consisted of two oversized pancakes and 2 eggs with meat. The meat was her only good part. The eggs were bland and the pancakes, although strikingly LARGE which leave you feeling happy when you see it, but had absolutely no flavor.Once we finished our food it took roughly 20 minutes to even see our waitress again for the check and she was not very pleasant. When we went to the front to check out, the cashier was not pleasant at all and didn’t even speak to us, we were rushed and she did not make eye contact nor even care to ask about our service. Of course, we left a tip. No matter the service, these servers and diners do not deserve to be short changed. I just hope someone sees this review and takes into consideration how they treat their customers. We are unsure if it is because we are an obvious lesbian couple or something, but our service was not anything to be happy about.We went here for the 4.6 star rating, but we did not receive that kind of service. We will be trying other diners in the future.Maybe your experience will be different, so you can make the judgement call for yourself. However I would not recommend. It’s been almost an hour since we have eaten and we are both still feeling unwell.

I recently moved from Ohio and found this wonderful GEM here, I had to come back and see if the food was just as good as the first time..... SPEECHLESS! The hostess took my temperature 🤒 which impressed me, this is the first establishment I have seen to this. My favorite part was THE FOOD. I had the Roy’s Eggs Benedict. The presentation of the food was delightful and the TASTE 🤩 made me want to hug and kiss the CHEF, the music 🎶 was good, between listening to good music, my pallets were parting as well. I had an aftertaste of deliciousness, I give this place 5 stars.
Corporal Clints Chicken and Daves Skillet are two of my favorite menu items - satisfying and flavorful, and the staff is friendly and helpful to boot! ☕ Your coffee mug is never empty. 🤗 I cannot recommend this local business enough. My only regret is not knowing about this place until I moved to Brandon 4 years ago. 😂

Food was normal breakfast food for bac cheese omelet hashbrowns and soda almost $14 and it wasnt a fluffy omelet very flat and not much taste but only my opinion. Food came out fast seemed to take a little time to be acknowledged to get waited on kinda was uncomfortable being I was by myself I wasnt fond of the table they gave me felt like I stuck out. But I will try there again only lunch

Ordered the monte cristo breakfast. Delicious. My son ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns crispy. He said his biscuits were a bit underdone but hash browns were good crispiness.

Restaurant is taking excellent steps for covid19. Temperature is taken when you arrive. only searing at alternating tables. Nobody seated at a table either side, or front or behind you. Wait staff masked. E had breakfast there, food is delicious and big portions.

The food was good with lots of options and also an option for half portions on many of the items. We were never greeted/acknowledged on entry and waited to see where to sit. The two ladies at the front was too busy talking to each other. After ordering, food came quick and was good. At checkout from the lady at the register, not one word was said....no smile, not even a thank you.

I always have great meals here! The portions are large and I need a to-go box EVERY TIME. The service is super quick. I seem to take a sip of tea and the meal is in front of me; HOT, FRESH & DELICIOUS. The quality is always good with reasonable prices!!!
Food was good for me, but my husband did not get eggs or bacon cooked as ordered. Waitress had some micro plastic mask that did not cover anything but her chin & certainly didnt protect customers.
