Worst customer service over the phone. Willing to spend money and cant get simple information. Manager needs to hire better staff. You guys just lost a sale.
So I was sitting there on my hour lunch break searching for an acoustic bass for my fiances birthday tomorrow. I didnt have any luck looking online because the even though I specifically searched for acoustic bass on the search engine, guitars kept popping up. So i decided to drive to guitar center to look around. There were absolutely no acoustic basses available anywhere. Except for one. An acoustic electric Guild. Never heard of it before and it was small. I asked Fred to help me search for some in the surrounding area. No luck. I tried it out and it was actually really nice sounding so I decided to buy it. Dan helped me make it look super nice and shiny. Im back at work writing this review and my lunch break isnt even over yet. They do good work.

Walked in and out in about 20 mins. Plenty of great options and they had exactly what my daughter was looking for. Hannah helped us and was very knowledgeable and offered great recommendations without me feeling like she was just trying to up sell me unnecessary items. Will definitely return to this location when needing new equipment.

This store sells open-boxed items as “brand new”.Apparently this is wide spread, check the reddit forums and see for yourself, Buyers beware! I am sharing my experience in this review.I had Called the Brea store to confirm they had a “brand new” in box Arturia Microfreak. Spoke to store rep on the phone before making the drive to the store. The rep assured me the unit was brand new. When I arrived at the store I again asked him to make sure and he told me that it was brand new in box. After getting home and unboxing I found that it was obviously not “new” as he claimed. The power supply had been opened the wires were not even in the small box. In addition the keyboard itself had finger prints and dust all over the unit and plastic screen protector was missing.This is incredibly frustrating because this same issue has happened to me the last two times I made in-store purchases at GC and in one instance couldn’t even register the supposed new product because it had already been registered. I couldn’t download the included software either.Now i am noticing a pattern of dishonesty and unethical practices which is why I won’t be doing business here any longer. I have shopped with guitar center since 1998 but no more. I expect honesty and professionalism, I don’t feel good spending my hard earned money when i make a purchase and find out later it was a open box. I especially don’t appreciate being lied to by the sales representative.I am writing this in order to inform you of my experience. GC is going downhill fast and they won’t last long because they lost their core values and abandoned customer service.
Ordered something online for store pickup. Got a text saying thank you for picking up your order when I was at home sick. The store was also closed at the time. I called when the store opened, and told the manager. He said yeah? I saw that too.... No other explanation or words given. I told him I was sick and can he extend the pickup time. Yeah, itll be here. After the weird awkward conversation I didnt wanna go in and meet these lovely people. I would like to know, why havent I received a refund? Did someone steal my item? Why dont managers here have any tact?
I tend to keep a watchful eye on a few items that may pop up used. Low and behold one item in particular did. I called this location the following morning and started chatting with a gentleman named Drew. He was happy to send me a few extra pictures and an hour later my transaction was complete. They easily earned my 5 stars for being efficent and easy to work with.Thanks Drew and Shane. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐UPDATE: The item was well received close to 2000 miles away. Well packed, no issues, and performs flawlessly. Considering it is a 188lb cabinet I am impressed by GC and UPS freight. Nonethreless, during the holidays.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These people act like theyre too good to bother with selling you or helping you with ANYTHING. That day I had about a thousand bucks with me looking for a decent, portable keyboard to use for my voice lessons. I never spent a dime of it.I spent the entire 35 minutes I was in their store being ignored as was pretty much everyone else. They were literally standing around by the store entrance telling each other jokes. The most they said to anyone I saw who entered or left there was hello and have a nice day.Worst customer service Ive ever seen. I wont be back there.

Wow! Chris was SO HELPFUL! I wanted to surprise my husband with a guitar and had no idea what I was looking for besides a few preferences that I know he likes and a budget. Chris explained what those preferences meant, and even played all my options for me to help me choose. Then helped me wrap it safely in a box. What a sweetheart, that was excellent service.

I was ready to pull the trigger and finally buy myself a better guitar than what I currently have as a Fathers day gift for myself. I have been wanting to buy a Taylor guitar or something close to it for a long time now and thought Id visit our local Guitar center and try some out and see what I liked. I brought my brother with me so he can buy guitar strings for his guitar. Upon entering the store we were asked by a gentleman to step back outside and wait until we were called by an associate. Due to Covid 19 we understood and waited at the designated area. We waited, and waited, and waited and at this point we have already seen a couple customers leave the store and thought they would let us in but we still waited. At this point we decided that we wasted enough time waiting so we decided to leave. We decided that its probably better for us to order stuff online. I used to like Guitar center but after this experience I am definitely rethinking it. I understand being cautious because of how deadly this virus is but do not open if you think you cant accommodate customers in a timely manner. Its difficult for customers to support businesses that act like this. I am giving Guitar Center a 2 star rating only because i used to like this place.
Ive been going here for years and though Ive shopped a few other stores (including other guitar centers), this location is my favorite. The employees are patient with questions and eager to give advise when needed. The store manager has personally helped me several times with selecting quality products within my price range (no pressure to buy more). The guitar techs have fixed complicated issues for me a few times with amazing results. I absolutely love this location!
I love going to Brea guitar center, been coming here for probably over 20 years, and my experience has always been positive. The staff is courteous, and are willing to help with any questions if needed. The staff also does not try and oversell when you do have questions, they will suggest what fits best for you and have honest opinions. They do a good job when it gets busy to try and get to you as quick as possible. Compared to other guitar centers, this one always has a more laid back and peaceful environment even when.super busy . I always buy something when shopping at brea guitar center.

Please dont buy anything from Guitar Center. I recently purchased a portable PA System for $992. It took 4 cancellations, several phone calls with customer service, three pending charges to my card, my money wasnt available for 5 days, several emails with manager, complain to BBB, and a trip to Guitar Center. I finally gave up returned the speaker and bought it straight from manufacture. I recommend to the same, also do a complain to Better Business Bureau.
Its always been a wonderful location to go to pick up the things I need for my musical instruments, along with other related electronics as well. They have an amazing and respectful staff that cares about the customers interest. I recommend anyone visit this location for your musical needs!

Everyone there is super nice. But they just dont have enough informed staff in the keyboard / DAW / studio area. Ive yet to get a question answered with anything deeper than im not sure.

I was in here on 10/23/20 and I paid for a guitar that was from a different store got two year protection plan on it paid for shipping and all tha. I wake up the next day to check my emails to see you when it would be arriving and my order was canceled! Apparently they had the wrong pictures or title for the guitar I was trying to buy and thats why It got canceled, now thats fine and dandy except for the fact that I paid in cash but since it was online the guy got a gift card put the money on it and then used the gift card online, and then he proceeded to throw the gift card away. So when my order got canceled it went back onto the gift card that is now in the dump probably... Hopefully customer service can mend the issue, if not Im going to have to go in there and grab a nice guitar off the wall and run out the door haha

They have a helpful and pleasant staff as well as a good stock of musical instruments, particularly guitars and keyboards. You can also find musical accessories, cables and connectors there. The pricing also appears to be reasonable. This was my first visit so I am working with somewhat limited experience but Im pleased with them so far.

Purchased a Lucero Nylon guitar for a good price but the line outside was about an hour wait. They need more employees to assist customers who are willing to spend money. Bad business I say. I blame management. I wont come back to this one for sure, I just dont have the time unfortunately.

I took my guitar in when Guitar Center opened on 10/01/20 to get it restringed. I asked for how long it would take? Employee answered 1 to 2 days tops, and that they would call me when finished to come pick it up. He wrote my ticket for 20 bucks for the restringing, and then offered a good day with no receipt saying you dont need it. I insisted just to have a receipt for my records. It took 10 minutes to print out a receipt, which Im glad I have, because here we are on 10/6/20 and I havnt been called once about my guitar. I reached out on the 4th and the employee said it would be done 1st thing that morning and theyd call me. The call never came. Your business is only as good as the employees working there, hence Get better employees. It was my first time using this Brea Guitar Center and will definitely be my last. Ps. Still waiting for my guitar.
Their customer service is very good. However, their inventory is lower than usual. Probably due to Covid19.
I love going there and being able to play with the instruments. I cant give it any less than five stars because its a hit or miss when it comes to service. Some days its good some days its bad.

I can not believe that within a few miles, from where I live, we have such a spectacular store devoted to guitars. When I worked for a local university I used this store to purchase professional audio equipment and accessories. Now, being retired, my interest is guitars. This place has it all. The store is very large and the selections are just as large as the store. I also get really good buying advice. They even sell used guitars at good prices. They also sell a lot of guitar and audio accessories.

I really liked the wide selection of guitars and stringed instruments. They live up to the Guitar in their business name. In our case, we went in for a ukulele for our son. We found a nice, mid-range version for a good price. Our son really enjoys playing it. Their sound proof, wood-lined room was also a nice touch if you want to try out the guitars. Happy buyer!
The manager here at the Brea store is courteous and even jumped in to help an associate with my return and purchase, then while he was still on the phone (cool factor) he rung up my purchase and gave me a discount on a guitar strap I had bought to go with my guitar. Great conversation and great store selection and service! Awesome job guys!

For guitar repair -- a special shout out to Dan, the luthier at Guitar Center Brea. Hes done some tricky stuff for me -- rebinding a trashed out vintage Guild acoustic, replacing a bizarrely rigged bridge and nut on a semi-hollow I was rehabbing -- and his work is excellent. His setups are perfect for me. The first time I brought a guitar in, he was in the middle of a glue joint on a broken acoustic so I just stood and watched. It was so good, I literally let out a stoner sounding, Whoa. Check him out. I swear youll be pleased.

I really appreciate Guitar Centers. I know they get a lot of flack, but where else can you try guitars and other gear for hours before you spend money? This store always has knowledgeable and helpful staff. Ive bought 3 guitars from them and lots of accessories. Good store!

My Husbands second home! Staff is amazing & very knowledgeable. Building a new guitar rig was a little worried about having stuff shipped but totally satisfied in the timely manner and care that was put into getting things to him in flawless condition.
I needed two of my electric guitars restrung today and called two other locations and none were able to provide basic customer service over the phone or completion by today because they had a couple guitars pending and were possibly having a bad day. I called the Brea location at 11:30am spoke to Dan the guitar tech, and he said bring them down we will knock em out today. (He had 3 guitars to work on) I show up at 12:30 he restrung them completely in less than 30 mins. I was out of there by 1:00pm, He showed great customer service from the initial call to when the job was completed. Great job Dan for going above and beyond even on holiday weekends!

Pasadena guitar center is the worst so far in Customer service Except for the repair Department they are Awesome and very Professional.

This store has a huge selection of musical instruments and equipment. The prices are competitive and the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Its the best place to expand your collection whether your looking for guitars, percussion or any other type of instrument or just to hang out and satisfy the need to jam.
Staff at this location is super and always eager to help. If you go during the week, there may not be enough employees on the floor to help customers, but I am never in a hurry to leave, so I leisurely take my time browsing at all the eye candy in the form of guitars hanging from the walls. I may even test one or two while I wait. In short, the folks working at this Guitar Center location are highly friendly and willing to answer any questions a novice or even experienced buyer may have.
Positive experience ... since Im in the area frequently, Ill be going back for all my music needs.
