Bait and Switch! As many other reviewers here have stated, B&N college is a truly predatory/evil organization. Never try to buy new books online here, as the order gets switched to used. This appears to be the standard no-stock program, and it will really rip you off, especially if you intended to keep the book. There is no legally binding contract stating that they can change the terms of the purchase without your consent. They unfortunately do not stock more durable formats (hardback), so used is typically in terrible condition.I acknowledge that the employees are not defined by the ethical standards of their employer, and assume that they play no willing part in this bait-and-switch, as it would be simpler

Was here the first day of summer quarter and was seen immediately, and the people working there were all kind and knowledgeable about where to get my supplies (not the easiest thing to pull of since I was talking weird due to dental work).

Anyone who buys books from here beware. Try to buy from amazon or online. Books are overpriced.

The old store was perfect. Barnes and Noble over charges you, will sell you a textbook for 300.00 then offer you 9 bucks for it at the end of the quarter because they have the loose leaf version which costs the same price and in less demand than the hardback for accounting. Prices are really terrible here. Wondering if Barnes and Noble will really go under....The way they treat students with these prices, let this be the first one.. Bring back the old store.

Good options, as far as school supplies and snacks go. A little bummed about the Barnes and Nobel take-over because now I cant find certain things like left handed notebooks. Also its a bit harder for students to get a job there now. But overall I appreciate the prices and selection. :)

In the Bremerton student center. Enjoyable and clean. Little more expensive but has the specific items you need for your classes.

The service is better then online and you can pick out your books easier then say amazon. Renting is hastle free all they need is your phone number. Plus they sell snacks so if you want to sit down in the lunch room thats great too. People often are playing video games or board games here too. Its often used as a spot for studying as well.

Decent food prices? Sometimes the vending machines have lower prices. Would not recommend their textbooks unless youre in a really common class, otherwise, shop elsewhere.

It has what you need but 99 times out is 100, you can find it cheaper somewhere else. Even the drinks and candy, you can usually find cheaper in one of the vending machines on campus.I really only go to the bookstore if I cant make it out to walmart or if I forgot something and its an emergency.

Decent place I suppose. Dont buy food there as everything costs two dollars more than it should. Also the cash registers tend to break down so prepare for your shopping to take an extra half hour or so do to unreliable cashiers. Just remember that the place is designed to rook over college students and you will do fine.

The staff is helpful, but you can often find better prices online, and they might be bought out by Barnes & Noble so well see where that goes. If you do buy/rent books here, do it on their website and theyll be waiting for you after a day so you wont really have to wait in line.

Place was there when I needed something.Staff was meh, concentrated on whether you were stealing more than helping.Mega bummer about being axed by this new Olympic College President Marty or something. Thats really not cool. School is so obedient (military offspring, retired or outgoing) so its another world for me to see such numbness to abuse of power here. Isnt my kinda town in the least.

The inventory sucks and the cost went up ever since Barnes and Noble bought it. I feel sorry for the students who buy supplies here.

Review №18

Used to be a useful book store for supplies and equipment, but ever since Barnes and Noble bought them they have had very little of anything, and all the prices are about double than if you were to go to Walmart or Fredmeyer. The best thing that could happen is OC to go independent again or just out right close.

They take part in a national program to get text books to other schools in need of them. This gives students the opportunity to make sure those books keep seeing use.

It is sufficient and comes in handy if your in a bind for a school supply that you need right away, but in most cases youll save $ by shopping elsewhere. As far as the school books, as long as you have the IBN number you can save a boatload buying your books on Amazon

Nice friendly helpful staffbut no longer like the bookstore since barnes and noble took over. They have also taken over at my new school as well and I do not like how they just switch your books to used when you order new ones. I get some people buy used books but they order them used. I ordered new and at this bookstore and the new one they just give me used ones and expected me to be okay with it not giving a choice. If you are ordering new then thats what you should get. Its literally forcing a customer to pay for something they dont want taking advantage of them. Im not a fan of any predatory business practices and thats what it is same with their buy back its terrible I got 4xback just by doing it myself and printing out shipping labels and sending them to online buyback places.Response to Maggie:Thank you Maggie its nothing personal with staff you have always done the best with options available. Its the way the organization takes advantage of students
