Expensive service. Seems to me their more focused on just selling you new equipment off their showroom floor than repairing stuff. Prices on their new stuff seems competitive. But you could probably get a better deal at a box store where they offer military discounts.

I purchased a new Toro Timemaster a few days ago and was very disappointed the new equipment servicing.A good, reputable dealer will test, inspect and adjust all cables and pulleys to make sure the mower is performing at its very best possible, as well as gassing it up. That’s supposed to be the difference between buying from a dealer and Home Depot, and other big box stores. Dealers are supposed to provide premium customer service. This was my first new lawnmower purchase so I was a novice and relied on the dealership. I received minimal instruction. There was oil in the engine but they never started the engine to test it. I know because there was no gas.I discovered no gas after trying to start the engine after getting home. I called in the dealership and talked to the serviceman. He finally admitted he had not started the engine. I asked about checking the machine to see if set up properly and he said no because the factory does it.I try to support local businesses, but I could have gotten the same quality of service from Home Depot.

I was sent here by Kitsap Tractor Store in Silverdale because they dont carry Torro parts. The lady who helped me at The Small Engine clinic was helpful and very nice. She told me where to find the model number for my lawn mower and had the parts that I needed. The shop is clean and inviting. I will definitely bring my equipment in here the next time it needs serviced. Then Ill writ another post.

They look out for you but its not that easy to get ahold of them... What I mean is they are not very virtual I think they could do better with their social media presence. Maybe get more social about solving small engine problems or helping with mundane problems. However I want to make it blatantly clear on a customer service level they get 100%

Harold is a pretty good mechanic. I’ve had mowers in for service maybe 7 times. But he’s not a people person and has no grasp of customer service. He would rather I walk than to offer minimal effort to understanding my service concern. So I walked.I’m taking my business to Peninsula Feed and Power Equipment in Port Orchard. Doug is professional and I’ll be buying my new Cub Cadet mower there.

Brought our lawnmower in for a check up and blade change. Left with a lawnmower that ran worse than before if at all and they forgot to put our new blade on. Had to go back and get our blade installed and when called to see if we can do something to fix our lawnmower that they broke only got a response of they where not responsible for it since time had passed. We where not looking for who to blame but to get it fixed. If i could leave a 0 i would.

Harold charged me about $53 to tell me my carb was not rebuildable when the owners daughter/relation said it could be done. After telling me a replacement would cost $254, I said no thanks. No work was done. I requested an explanation and in one minutes time the grumpy old fart informed me the part was not rebuildable. You would think if I learned in one minute what a non-repairable carb looked like, the paid help would have learned over a couple/three decades being in business...STOLE!!!This appears to be the only dishonest small engine repair shop Ive run into so please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, especially my fellow Veterans! Nobody has precious time to waste, gas aint cheap, and hard-earned money would better be spent elsewhere!

First time TERRIBLE experience. The work I authorized was not done. The work they did was not authorized. Believe the bad reviews. I had hoped against hope, but they lived down to their reputation. Owner was hostile and indifferent and completely unapologetic to the problem. His daughter lied to me, saying he’s a master Honda technician who would be performing the service on my Honda generator. This also turned out to be a complete lie, as the owner told me himself that he did not do any of the work on my machine, but Bill did. What a complete and utter nightmare scam deception. So we ended up spending $100 for literally nothing. We were refunded for the parts we did not authorize, and were returned my original plug and air filter. Bonus!: He let me keep the 18 oz of motor oil, although, an oil service was not requested required nor authorized. STAY FAR AWAY!

I was amazed that when I took my very old Echo chainsaw in for repair that they actually rebuilt the carburetor and it now runs like new. Every other place I have used for repairs in the county would have just replaced the carburetor, which would have cost me much more. Also, the carburetor was tuned correctly. Another place that serviced my 2 cycle engines could never seem to get that right. They had a long backlog of work, so I had to wait longer than expected, but it was worth it to have the job done right.

Despite the previous one star review, the truth is...this shop is superb. I have had all of my power equipment repaired there for nearly 10 years. Never have I had any reason to consider their work in a negative sense. That means they have done better than both of my car service centers, BMW and Lexus. I have valid complaints for the car dealership shops ( even had to have a BMW replaced due to Lemon Law criteria being met...which is not easy...so, I know what bad engine repair really looks like).I have had two Echo trimmers, a Honda push mower, and a Craftsman riding mower repaired at this shop. Every item was repaired on time or early, and never cost more than the quote, even when more labor was required.I started using this shop based on multiple recommendations from Nuclear Engineers at Bangor. I urge anyone who has read this far to ignor the one star rating. This place is really good and deserves your full consideration. You wont be disappointed.

Worst place ever! Do not take your lawn mower or any small engine there! The owner is rude first of all, took my brand new riding lawn mower there for an oil change and valve adjustment, got it home and noticed several screws missing that were there when I took it there. The guy lost or just decided to not replace the screws that went to the plastic body parts. I will never take another piece of equipment there! The screws are very noticeable and it was 3 screws. Pure laziness and poor workmanship, not to mention a poor attitude from the owner.

I recently brought in an old Toro lawnmower that I was fairly sure was beyond fixing. That proved to be the case. The shop people went over all the points checked in detail, which pretty matched up with my own assessment following seven years of blazing trails through rocks, mole mounds, and overgrown lawn. Worked with a guy named Chris, who was very savvy. I can also speak mechanic talk, and he knew his stuff. I paid my $54 bucks for the assessment, they offered recycle it no extra charge, and I bought a new one after we reviewed the features and engines in the current Toro line. The price was reasonable, and unlike a big box store, it was assembled for me, and before they let me haul it away, they did an engine rpm and oil check while I watched, and the woman working the counter did all the warranty paperwork. Something to be said for dealing locally with a small business. BTW you may see negative reviews of this business on Yelp, an organization Ive never trusted. Remember what yelp means-- a noise a dog makes, not something voiced-- let alone written-- by a human. The word yelp itself denotes complete denigration of both the person writing a Yelp review, and the person reading it.

Went to this place before for small carbs, but this time I went looking for spindles for my lawn mower. They only carry the long spindles and had to order the short ones for my mower. They charge $143.43 each. I found the same spindles on Amazone for $37.97 each with free shipping. I know businesses need to mark up what they sell but this figures out to be about 250 - 300%. Went there to cancel my order, what was NOT disclosed to me at the time of the order and it is NOT on the invoice is that they charge a 25% restock fee because they have to send them back. I asked why they didnt put them in their stock, I was told that they dont sell this kind .... REALLY? So it cost me over $78.00 to cancel. What their receipt does say:Refund policy:Parts must be in new unused, resaleable conditionNo refunds without a receiptNo refunds on electrical parts and componentsNo refund on any parts after 7 daysSome special order parts will no be refundable.I ordered on Saturday and cancelled on Monday - 2 dayshad a receipt, parts unused ... NEEDLESS to say, I will NEVER go here again nor would I recommend it to ANYONE.

THESE GUYS ARE THE WORST!!!!They are very rude I would give zero stars if I could.Heres a long story about how I came to this conclusion;I called and asked if they could work on Husqvarna auto tune saws They said they could and to bring it in. When I brought the saw in they said they couldnt work on it because they didnt have the tool to hook it up to the computer. I brought the saw home after a wasted 2 hour trip and it overheated and seized. Since the saw was under warranty I looked on the Husqvarna website for authorized repair places and once again found that the Small Engine Clinic was pretty much my only option. So I brought it back to them. They told me that it was my fault that the saw siezed and charged me $50 for the 15 minutes that it took them to figure it out. I asked if they had done a vacuum or pressure test to check for air leaks (which are the most common cause of chainsaw siezures) and the mechanic said he didnt have to. He was rude and dismissive the whole conversation.I posted on an arborist forum online about my experience and a member there recommended another dealer. I sent the saw to this dealer, he tested it and disassembled it, found the cause of the problem and got Husqvarna to pay for the repair. This is what a good dealer should do.The Small Engine Clinic did not even try to get the saw repaired they charged me an exorbitant amount for nothing and quoted me more than the cost of a new saw to fix it.THEY SUCK!!

Last year I stopped off at the small engine clinic and purchased a new carburetor for my lawn mower. The people were helpful and I was on my way. My son ultimately failed to install the new part and then it was winter. This spring we knew we would have to take the lawn mower in, so I loaded it up and took it to the small engine clinic April 28th, the people were nice and told me it would be 2 weeks. May 4th a phone call was made to my house and my guy talked to H. He stated that there were missing parts to the lawn mower, resulting in $140 of missing parts which would make it not worth fixing. There was some confusion then about a $50 charge to just pick up the lawn mower without anything being done for Hs time in assessing missing parts that was not resolved between my guy and H. The missing parts were found and I called back the shop the next day to let them know I would be by. The women on the phone said she knew who I was because my boyfriend and his young son were in there yesterday yelling about how I was mistreated. My guy was out of town on business and I have a teen son so I explained to the lady she has me mixed up with someone else. I then dropped off the parts the next day and once again mentioned that the man who had come in yelling had nothing to do with me to make sure that was cleared up. A few weeks past and I borrowed my sister in laws lawn mower which broke so I took it to a repair person in GH because it was much more convenient for me. That lawn mower was fixed in 6 days at $50 and returned to us. This prompted me to call Small engine clinic to see what was going on with my lawn mower. (Now 1st week of June) I was told parts were back-ordered and it could be another week. I thought about this over the weekend and wondered what parts I had not been told a estimate or called about any of the repairs so I called June 8. I inquired to the woman who answered the phone about the repairs. I asked about the parts and why they were ordered and asked about how long this was taking. She was defensive about the time stating that they order parts from one company that services the whole west coast. I can understand being slightly defensive about this because I am sure its a frequent complaint that feels out of their control. I did ask for a estimate because I was not given one to ok repairs or parts ordered,as far as I knew I had brought all the missing parts. She said someone would call me back. A few minutes later H called me back.H let me know that the estimate was $194 to fix my $200 lawn mower. I said I would never have authorized repairs for that because it is not logical. I said after the time spent I would rather pick up my machine and take it somewhere else. H said I owed him $94 for his time.I said I thought this was unfair because repairs were not done. H said Im done with you good bye and hung up. I have to admit I was stunned so I called back and H answered I said, I think we were disconnected? He said No, you are refusing to pay my fee Ill send it to collections. I said you cant hang up until we come to a reasonable solution. He said, Im done and hung up. (I only have quotes around sentences I remembered exact but everything else is close). I was not sure what to do so I jumped online and started to read reviews and it turns out I am not the only one who has had trouble with communication and conflict resolution with H. I thought about what to do and how I could limit myself from a potential confrontation with H like many others have had. I called the Bremerton police and the Kitsap sheriff department and filed a report. I will also file a customer complaint. H can keep the brand new carburetor I purchased from his store originally (I cant remember the exact price but it was between $50-$100). H can have the lawnmower the I have used 14 times and I can avoid conflict with an unreasonable person. Happy to say I ordered a new lawn mower last night for $250 and it will arrive in 2 days. I wish H and his business well and hope better communication avoids these situations in the future.

They may or may not be great mechanics, but Ill never know because of their terrible attitude toward their customers. After I allowed Chris to talk for nearly 10 minutes without interruption, I dared to comment on the shops poor communication skills with their customers (they did not meet their timeline, nor explain fees up front). I was told to Pay your $54 bench fee. Pick up your mower and was HUNG UP ON. Chris was on speaker phone this entire time, and his complete & utter rudeness was heard by my father, mother, sister, and brother-in-law who ALL happen to be homeowners with lawn equipment. Guess where none of them or their friends will ever take their business? I did call back to report this poor service because as a manager and small business owner myself, I would absolutely want to know if my staff was costing me money. I was essentially told that 1) they dont have time to communicate with their customers, and that 2) there is a sign so that they dont have to do so. I honestly dont know how places with such poor service manage to stay in business. Tip: If you must go there dont expect your equipment to even be looked at in the time frame they quote for the work to be completed, and if you want it to be serviced at all it seems you must keep your mouth zipped & hand over your credit card.
