I have been coming to this amazing little museum in Brewster for years. It is truly an incredible place for ALL ages, especially kids. From the live osprey-cam (in summer), to the trails, the gift shop, the exhibits (live bees in a honeycomb!) with all sizes of sea creatures in the basement to the bird carvers room, it is a wonderful way to spend a few hours!

Fantastic museum for kids, so much great stuff to see. Theres so much to learn and see and touch about local Cape Wildlife. Every kind of bird, every kind of fish, every kind of insect, you can see them all. Want to learn about the history of geography of the Cape? Learn more about the indigenous people? Its all here, its all accessible and its all interesting. Take your kids and go have an awesome time.

Small, nice blend of activities, excellent special programs, and many kind hearted staff members who were polite and eager to please. Todays visit was well enjoyed and received by our group of three. We attended the special Reptiles show as well as the Butterfly exhibit both activities were well worth the extra money and our time. The museum is small so they have to make good use of all the available space and the items are very dispersed and arranged in a strange manner. There were many people today but spacing and wait times were minimal. I also saw a steady stream of new customers while I was there.. There are many exhibits worth viewing and while it isnt a full day event it proved to be an enjoyable day. Finally I must say the staff members were present in good numbers and they were all professional an went out of their way to please everyone from the people taking the reservations right down to staff members who gave quick content comments to help engage the kids and adults. If I were to focus on 1 item to work on Id say it would be the trails. Here I would work on the condition of the trails, a better trail map, and more staff and activities directing people and roaming or stationed at points along the trail talking with people like they do inside the museum. Again this was an excellent day trip and well worth the drive! Hats off!

A gem of a little natural history museum with whale skeletons, a bee colony, butterfly house, outdoor mud kitchen play area, tons of fun interactive kids activities, (including many that produce goodies to take home) a sweet little aquarium, and a nice marsh trail to hike when the tide is out. We dropped more than twice what we paid on admission in their excellent gift shop.

Coming from a state with huge museums, its difficult to be impressed by something this small but they do provide a good history of the area and enlighten you on the ecological impacts.a bit pricey for a short walk through but you can stay and look at the fish tanks and they nickle and dime you for anything extra. hopefully some of that cost goes back to the exhibits. good rainy day option.

Went here and did the Mudflat Mania. This was a nice little hike down to the shoreline. This takes place at low tide so you can learn about the sea life that is located near the shore. Very fun for little children and adults as well. You are able to walk along the shore and look for many different things. The staff is very polite and give you information about the sea life you are going to encounter on this little adventure. Bring a little bucket and little scooper to dig with. Have fun and enjoy the beautiful scenery that you will see.

Over-Crowded but NiceWe went with our three toddlers on a rainy Sunday morning. When the doors opened at 11AM there was a long line. There were blue arrows after the lobby that guests were told to follow, but very few actually did. The play/art room was nice, but limited by time due to the number of guests. The downstairs aquarium is great, but again, because of the number of people in the small museum, we were rushed through and couldnt take the time to explore. We felt even during non-COVID times the museum was too crowded, but especially because of COVID, it was way too busy and there should have been a lower capacity limit. The butterfly exhibit was closed, which was a bummer because the kids were looking forward to it.

We came after hours, but you can still do the nature walks, which was 100% worth it! We followed the 1.5 mile trail with our 2-9 year olds and our teenager. They LOVED walking over the salt marshes, and exploring all the tide pools on the beach! They saw crabs, clams, horseshoe crabs, and came home with many natural treasures! We will definately return!

A great little museum with a little bit of everything. I perfect way to spend the morning with my 5 year old. I suggest bringing snacks and water there are plenty of benches along trails to take a brake. Make sure to call ahead to reserve spots for buttery feeding, and mudflats (I did not know to do that based on the museums website.)

Enjoyable little natural history museum based around the ecosystem on the cape. The bird feeders were very active outside the window with 6 different birds, red and gray squirrels, and chipmunks all eating. The osprey camera with chicks was also excellent. We went too early in the season so only a few butterflies to visit with. The tick signs are no joke check yourself and your children when you leave. I pulled one off my 2 year olds pants.

This used to be a great museum, but over the last few years it has become less and less welcoming. A lot of the staff are older, rather cantankerous, and impatient with children.Do not bring your dog here - they HATE dogs. If you have a dog on leash in the parking lot, someone will come over to harass you. I believe there is an ACLU lawsuit currently pending against the museum for discrimination against individuals with service dogs.

Cute place. Took the tour they give that spoke about the ecology of the area. Very informative, and my favorite part was getting to eat some sea pickle. It was really hot, and the tour lasts awhile so be prepared if your doing this during the summer or any hot peak times. Make sure to wear a hat, sun block, tick repellant, and bring yourself a drink, and a snack wouldnt hurt if you taking kids with you. Our guides were older woman and they worked very well together and made us feel very welcomed and informed. They took the time to answer our kids questions, even if they had already answered them before. The inside of the museum is small but it was nice to cool off and check out their small aquariums. They had a nice gift shop with different souvenir prices ranges that would fit any budget.

Great museum, beach, tidal flats, beach grass, low tide smells, natural environment, walks, and staff. Reminder of what the cape was before it was discovered. Youll return in time - or be introduced - to simpler pleasures of old cape cod here. Worth it.

Despite signage for the museum showing a trail from the parking lot we were told we were not allowed to park in the parking lot for the museum if we did not pay to visit the museum and were forced to move our car. We will not be patronizing museum anytime soon.
