I just purchased a 2020 crestliner XF189 from salesman Anthony at Wilson Marine. I couldn’t be any happier and satisfied with the boat and ALL the help Anthony provided me with!! He went above and beyond my expectations! I am from Nebraska so it was a long trip, but Anthony even found me a hotel room located near the Boat Shop and helped me in so many different ways I can’t even say how much I appreciate and am blessed I got Anthony as my salesman!! I highly recommend Anthony at Wilson Marine if you are looking to purchase a boat!! I wanted a couple additions to the boat, and Anthony made it happen!! Lots of salesman in my past purchases once they got the sale finished they didn’t want anything to do with me. That sure wasn’t the case with Anthony!! I can’t say enough good things about Anthony and the guys at Wilson Marine!! They made my boat purchase experience perfect!! Thanks again Anthony!!!!

I am writing to express my gratitude to the staff at Wilson Marine Brighton, they are truly superb.“Good” customer service is hard to come by these days, and “excellent” customer service is even rarer…. but I found it, in Jessica and Chris at Wilson Marine of Howell.Jessica handled the financing, and watching her in action, on the job, was a sight to see! She was well-prepared, organized, and efficient despite having to conduct her work using an antiquated manual-feed printer. Jessica impressed me on every level, it was obvious to me that the ship would go down without her.Chris, from service, was equally impressive. He was patient with me and my teenage son during the water orientation where he provided clear and concise instructions for how to operate and navigate our new vessel. Chris went above and beyond the call of duty, and his dedication to customer service and safety is unmatched.Wilson Marine is lucky, fortunate actually, to have these two gems on their team.

My repair experience was not good. Very friendly staff but do read everything they put in front of you. They like to leave key provisions out that will cost you money. Do get a second quote for any repair. I had two issues and both quotes were substantially higher than their competitors. Do not trust Ron. He has a nice smile but he is not your friend.

Update: the service manager worked to get my boat returned at no cost and logistics will be covered once the part comes in.So far- not a great experience. If you’re going to have your boat close to them, maybe ok, but the warranty Will-care program is not as advertised. 2yr old Boat has been in for repair twice already (same issue, so it was never fixed the first time!). Boat has been with them 6 weeks so far, way outside the 15 day guarantee fix or loaner motor provided at no cost. At this point to get my boat back to use it for the few days left, it’s supposedly going to cost me return transportation money when the warranty part comes in (for the issue not fixed the first time no less). Doesn’t make sense…. So beware! I’ll update the post if a more favorable solution is offered.

I dont write reviews. But this time I was compelled to do so. Tom was our salesman. Very professional yet down to earth and was very kind to my family. One of the best in my opinion. I highly recommend Tom if you are looking for a new or used boat. Donna handled all the paper work. We really enjoyed talking with her. She was very kind to my family. Looking forward to seeing her and the Hot Rods at the Woodward cruise. And I can forget Chris. He also was very kind to my family and was very knowledgeable and gave great assistance during the test drive my son and I took with him on the lake. Which gave us confidence with the purchase of our used boat. Because of Tom, Chris and Donna and the kindness and professionalism they showed to my family. I will be looking forward to purchasing another fishing boat soon. Also enjoyed meeting Jessica in the finance department and Adam in the service department. Chris and Adam went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly when I came to pick up our fishing boat. I want to echo the previous posts about Wilson. They will sell you a boat and make sure that part is efficient. After that you will be treated poorly and service will not be helpful despite issues with the boat we were sold. Steer clear!!

Just bought my 1st boat from Wilson marine in Brighton. Derek the salesman was great. Walked me right through the process. From start to finish, he was awesome. Gave me a lot of great information as a new boat owner. They gave me a fair price, and great customer service. They also were the only dealership that had the size boat I was looking for. Great place, and great people. I would highly recommend using this dealership.

We just purchased our first boat from Wilson, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We really wanted a pontoon with a lounger but they all seemed out of our price range, not to mention inventory seems to be scarce everywhere, Tom (our salesman) checked on a boat that had been previously reserved but the deal fell through and the boat wasn’t yet listed as available, it was in our our price range, with the lounger (this was seriously a rare find). We worked with Jessica on the financing, she took her time to explain everything and got us on the will call list (we ended up getting our boat early, just in time for Fourth of July!). From there I was introduced to Kara in their store who took a good 30 minutes to walk me through everything I we needed for our boat (which came with the main accessories like life jackets, anchor, etc.), the store was closing but I didn’t realize it because she didn’t rush me. We left feeling confident that we had everything we needed to start enjoying our new boat! And after all that, since we purchased from them, we have a bunch of perks when it comes to boat maintenance with them (too many to list).

Ask for Mike Cedar, he is a no pressure Salesmen that is an expert in his field. As a first time boat owner he educated me and happily answered any questions I had. Overall the process was great! I searched for several months to find the exact boat that I wanted. My initial experience with Tim at Wilson Marine was pleasant. Very attentive and answered all of the questions that I had. I live 4 hours from their location and had to drive to the location twice. Once to deliver my trade in and once to pick up the boat that we purchased. Once we got the boat home, we discovered a crack in the gel coat by one of the rear cleats. I contacted Tim and sent pictures of the crack. It has now been more than TWO WEEKS and still no response regarding the warranty repair. I contacted a local Bayliner dealership who had an answer in 2 DAYS, not weeks. I have also emailed about the speedometer not working and again, no response. They have my money and now have become an after thought and pushed to the back burner. Tim asked me if my boat was running. In fact it is, but when you buy a brand new boat you would think the dealership you purchased it from would make it right immediately. In addition, Tim also told me that their dealership was the ONLY dealership in the Midwest that I could take my boat to have the gel coat repaired. This is in fact, per Bayliner, a bold faced lie. When I confronted Tim regarding all of the issues, he immediately became argumentative instead of apologetic for buying a brand new boat that ALREADY needs repairs. Yet again, they already have my money and service is apparently NOT a priority. I will NEVER purchase from the again.

Went to buy a new boat and trade in my boat I own now and they told me it would be worth around 14k and I just needed 8k to pay off the loan on it, I drive it 2 hours there and blow a tire on my way there, end up getting it there and they offer me$4000?!? They say they cant do anything with a boat that age (its a 1997) they knew that before I brought it in. Couldnt help me put a new tire on my trailer just an overall terrible experience will never give Wilson Marine my time or money ever again!!!

What a great experience all around! Right from the start our sales rep Adam was super professional and very easy to work with. We were very impressed with all of his follow up and carrying though 100% of what he promised. His sales manager and business department was also on top of their game and never missed a beat. Before, during and after pick up/ delivery the parts and service department was one of the best transactions my family has ever gone through. From start to finish the whole team was amazingly good and I will be recommending all of my family and friends to go see Adam at Wilson Marine for their next boat!Thank you for everything!

Last year we had our 2017 pontoon boat towed in after an auto accident, they repaired it but I dont think back to factory new. I was told by Jeff the service manager to use it for the summer and return it in the fall to get it fixed properly. I returned it on Saturday and was treated so poorly by Jeff, he said it could sit forever and rot before he repaired it. I did end up leaving it but Jeff said he will only fix the doors to close but that is all! Thats poor business when they were paid fully for the repair by my insurance company.

Horrible customer service! The salesman have no say in the deal. Every dollar, option, or accessory had to be ran by the manager. I was $1,500 apart on a brand new boat. After Wilson not moving on price I decided to pass. I called back a week later willing to pay full price and the salesman didnt get back to me. I know a handful of people that purchased from Wilson and none are happy and none would recommend them. They all say the Wil-Care is a joke. I am so thankful I didnt buy from Wilson Marine!!!!

I purchased a Start Coil today for my Sea Ray, 4.3 motor. While installing one of the posts broke off (no i wasnt over tightened). When returning it to Wilson Marine, they told me the part wasnt available for return. Seriously, I had purchased the part two hours prior and it was obviously defective.Subsequently, the Parts department worker stood up, put his hands in my face and proceeded to tell me NEVER to come back again.FINE WITH ME! Their prices are overly expensive and they are rip-off artists.Previously, my engine had over heated and I took it to them for review. The first question was, do you have insurance, and how much. Without an answer they proceeded to tell me that I needed a new engine (which wasnt true) and it would run me at least $7,000 for repairs. That is twice what is would cost for a new motor. Additionally, it would cost me $400.00 for them to take a look at it.If you go to Wilson, be prepared to be taken advantage of (to put it kindly).

I drive almost 90 minutes to get there, but it is worth it!Btw.... before we bought our first boat in 2017, we went to 3-4 different boat shows. Wilson always had one of the best displays. I got all the tune up parts I needed and extra stuff to boot here. The place is large and you have to know where to go or you will drive from the showroom to the accessories department to the parts department wasting time. Jeff in parts (Howell) was very helpful and knowledgeable. Commerce is smaller with limited stock. I Did get the “sideways look” vibe (like old school auto parts stores when only mechanics and greasers who rebuilt stuff went to parts stores) but I had my engine Information and things went fine. Prices were in the mid to high range but I’m paying for the immediate convenience and expertise more than the parts. Later I had an accessory return and had no problems getting refunded. Overall Wilsons’ Marine is worth the drive.

Bought a new Heyday Wakeboat boat here in January, upon delivery I pointed out a bunch of issues with the fiberglass the rear trailer light was bent and the fenders on both sides had large dents. The boat had not been detailed very thoroughly at all. The sticker residue from the manufacturer was still on the hull had not been cleaned, and this is simply not acceptable as I had a deposit on this boat for more than two weeks prior to driving 10hrs to pick it up. Also they instructed me to not use the cover for transportation back home and to take the seats out, this caused the cup holders and the bottom drain cover to blow out of the boat as they were not glued in. After notifying them of this I received the replacement cup holders even though I told them I had already ordered LED ones and didn’t need them the drain cover from the boat came but had no seadec on it. The sales guy Tony was good to work with but also said all the issues would be addressed and new parts would be sent to me as I can’t drive 10hrs back for that stuff I told them as long as they send the parts I’m more than happy to do the installation myself. I spoke with Heyday Customer Care multiple times and was told they had contacted Wilson multiple times to find a solution and get this resolved. It is now June and still no resolution. I at this point have now waited long enough and given them every opportunity to make this right with no response so if you ever want to have service on a boat do not buy from these guys!

Was looking to purchase a used pontoon from WIlson. Sales person said they DETAIL & do a full inspection on their boats to ensure everything works before the sea trial. It took 2 weeks to schedule the sea trial just to find out nothing promised was done at all. Boat was dirty and proven to be not worth the money at all. Come to find out I was lied to and Wilson does not detail their boats before selling and only ensures the safety of the boat. I wouldve been alright knowing this the first time around and saved 2 weeks of my time. The salesman wasnt even there the day of the sale which was probably a good thing.The only reason this isnt a 1 star is because I was informed of the accurate process up to the sea trial making me believe I got stuck with a below average sales person.

I have only experienced Wilson marine Brighton service and parts. Both with bad experiences. Last year in May I had them install a starter and slave selinoid for my Rinker 4.3L Merc. I tried to start my boat this year and it was turning over fine for about 3-5 seconds and then began to grind(smarter gear on flywheel). Turned it off immediately and tried a few more times with the same result. I first called to check warranty and was told labor is only good for 90 days but the part is good for 1 year. So of course now I have to take off the starter and take it to them as I did today. When I removed the starter the nose of the casing was broke off and sitting in the flywheel case. Took it in and was told that this is not covered under warranty by their local starter rebuilder. The reason I was given was that some other failure caused this to happen and they have never seen one do this with out other failure. The parts guys suggested that there might be some type of hydro lock that could of caused this. Although they will sell me another starter at cost to HELP me out(your so nice). So I go home and do as he said. Put the boat in gear and spin the prop. Which it did fine with some force because of the engine compression. I then removed all the spark plugs which were all dry and then cracked the motor with my ratchet on the crank of the motor. I made 5 complete revolutions with no issues or noises.I have been at Wilson 3 times for service with each time feeling as if I was raked over the coals by investigation costs to diagnose(which does not go toward the repair like normal) and then get a call after the work was diagnosed and done(was told carb needed rebuild for why it won’t start) then get a call a few days later and say the reason it won’t start was because of the fuel pump. I figured ok just a fluke but now after this parts issue and having horrible experiences with service and parts Wilson will not see another dime from me. My boat is a 1997 and we were looking to purchase a new Glastron next year but I will go to Grand Rapids or Jackson to purchase. If you need any service done on a boat I would be EXTREMLY LEARY of spending your hard earned money with this company.

While not necessarily an awful experience, the fact that our salesperson, Ron, could not (or would not) budge on the price of a new Qwest pontoon boat, was reason enough for me to continue shopping around.Freeway Sports in Fenton also sells Qwest boats, and after speaking with Tricia there, her price was over 15% cheaper with no negotiating. This was for an identical boat, as we are ordering it custom from the manufacturer. The only thing that made the two deals different is that Wilson was throwing in a safety pack consisting of four life jackets, a toss cushion, two dock lines, an anchor with rope, and a fire extinguisher. I am confident that I will have a lot more than the difference left over to purchase the same items for my new boat.I would suggest to anyone in the market for a boat to shop the price that you receive from Wilson, because you could be spending a whole lot more than needed by purchasing here.

So late last summer I called Wilson marine to setup an appointment to have my Evinrude serviced under warranty. I was immediately asked if I had bought the boat or motor from Wilson marine and I told them I hadnt. The technician on the phone gave me some attitude about it and told me that he would have to contact evinrude to see how they would get paid for warranty service since the boat wasnt purchased from them. I called evinrude and they told me that I can take it to any certified evinrude dealer for service. The technician took down my name and number and never called me back. Must be nice to pick and choose which customers to help and lie directly to them at the same time. Needless to say I wouldnt recommend them to anyone at this point in time.
