These guys initially valued my camera at 550 - 650. Then their expert revalued it at 550, basically telling me why it was worth the minimum amount possible. I came back to get my memory card and to my shock, there was my camera in the front of their window being sold for over 1k! II hope nobody buys it. Even if they had the decency to have given me 650 plus for the camera I would not have felt the need to write. Bottom line - they gave me an unfair price, sold it at double the price quoted. I needed a quick sell, otherwise I could have got a fair price of 850-1k if I had sold it anywhere else. Use with caution. I wouldnt trust these people as far as I could throw em.

Today I bought a rad little Nikon F-301, really reasonable price. The guy who sold it to me was so helpful. He helped me set it all up and was really informative. Overall it just had a great vibe. Can’t rate them enough. I only found the shop as it was recommended to me by all my friends who do photography, as it’s quite tucked away.

Ive always shopped here because Id rather give my money to a local shop than Amazon but after todays experience I wont be going back.Reduced staff obviously due to Covid (1 member of staff) but after having to stand outside the doorway for 15 minutes while the owner tried to secure a camera sale, I gave up after said owner didnt even have the courtesy to make eye contact, tell me hell be with me in a minute or even apologise for the delay.Appalling customer service! When I rang to say why I wont be returning he got shirty with me and blamed Covid. Im sorry but Covid is NOT an excuse for the inability to be courteous to a loyal customer. As an ex retail manager, I know customer service and I would be appalled if any member of staff failed in even the basic task of communication.Good luck in the new world of online shopping. With people like that behind the counter, youre going to need it.

Bought a used lens there and the staff member told me theyd dropped the price online and subsequently reduced price to match their website for me, included a lens case for free and found me a suitable second hand filter at a very reasonable price to get me by. Very friendly service and went out of his way to help! Id definitely go back.

Highly recommend Clocktower Cameras! I found them helpful and knowledgeable both over the phone and in person. They gave expert advice on lenses that saved me hours of trawling the internet! The secondhand lens I purchased is amazing and saved me a pretty penny. ;-)The shop itself is Covid secure with a large Perspex screen at the counter, plenty of ventilation, hand sanitiser, and a 1 in 1 out policy.My first visit but certainly not my last!

Stopped by Clock Tower Cameras on a weekend away in Brighton. I Walked in to a customer buying their first digital camera, the advice and knowledge being given to this person by the staff was amazing and was all well explained. I also managed to treat myself to a medium format film camera that I have fallen in love with. Amazing store, these guys know what they are talking about! Would love to visit again!

Was looking for a starter 35mm SLR and the man in the shop was extremely helpful, walking me through the pros and cons of all of the cameras in my price range. He was super friendly and informative. 100% would shop there again!

It is a good place to visit if you are a camera lovers. You can find the 2nd hand cameras there which are of good conditions and also locate some useful accessories or films ........ It is a place worth for a visit.

Came in to ask about a supposed jam in my Nikon FE-2 and the guy knew exactly what was up with it, and had it fixed in a minute. Then explained the problem to me really clearly. Always knowledgeable and good service in here.

You don’t get places and staff like this anymore. Genuinely passionate about cameras and photography and happy to help the less knowledgeable. Visiting this shop was an experience and will most definitely revisit on my next visit to Brighton. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

One of the best independent camera shops in the UK selling a mix of new (mostly Fuji) cameras and a wealth of second hand gear. Staff are really helpful and friendly. If youre in the area and love photography pay them a visit and enjoy gazing at the wealth of cameras and lenses.

Great2nd hand shop, went in to talk to them and gave great advice on what I needed.

Brought a 126 cartridge to retrofit a 35 film with and explicitly said I need them to save the cartridge so I can reuse it. It was returned snapped in half. I would have preferred not having the outdated film developed so I could carefully prise open the case myself. A simple phone call and better customer service could have prevented my project being trashed.

An excellent shop run by helpful and friendly people. Bough a canon 6D today plus an amazing lens for a decent price. Very helpful and honest advice. Will be back and will definitely recommend!

I have not even done business (yet) with theses guys but I have been in there several times to ask questions. They have always taken the time to answer my obscure queries, the few services they can not provide they have referred me to excellent third parties for technical repairs to my damaged equipment. Although it seems that most camera and lens problems can be sorted out in house.A Good old fashioned business with excellent customer care.

Went in with a problem about a film camera I’d bought elsewhere, and within 1 minute the man had explained the issue, showed me how to fix it and got it all ready for me to shoot. Lovely service!

Oh...very disappointed, we were out in Brighton today specifically with the aim of buying a new camera. We werent greeted with a friendly smile, we asked to see the cameras and were told there were some newly arrived in a box, come back later. We felt a hindrance just for being there. Absolutely NO effort was made to find out what we wanted, most miserable service we have ever experienced. We spent our £279 in Currys on the way home where the sales assistant was smiley, helpful and knowledgeable. Serves them right.

Always Develop my film on time, sometimes earlier, their cameras are a good price and the two owners are always friendly, helpful and give me honest advice.
