Very large and clean Marina! They do boat rentals and its simple and easy, if you was born before 1989, but born after you will need a boat license… Nice restaurant and the store has about anything you need for being on the lake. Very good customer service. The price of everything is the only downfall and the reason I couldn’t give 5 ⭐️ My favorite Marinara on South Hoslton!

The Grille is a great place to unwind and listen to live music on Friday and Saturday nights from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Great burgers sandwiches, pizza and salad and more. They even serve breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. Dock ramp fee is $5.

The grass isnt mowed frequently enough. Otherwise, its a good public lake access.

Spent nearly $100 in food but asked for the ranch we didn’t get with our order and was turned down by a waitress that was too lazy to go get it. we’ve been here many times before and didn’t receive the same service and know that they have ranch here. the girl working here said they didn’t not have ranch

Nearly three months ago, my husbands foreman reserved a sting ray boat for Sunday, July Fourth with a credit card to hold, and made sure it could be covered with cash from the parties pitching in. When the debit card was placed on file, it was reserved with the rental time being stated 7am to 7pm. Everyone arrived at 6:45, only to learn they do not even open until 8am. We returned at 8, only to be told nothing could be done until 9 as they just opened. After this, the marina called the card holder to state they wanted to stress the rules and tell him wouldnt have been told that by one of their employees and express concern over his disdain for the confusion. He agreed to follow the rules, explaining his aggravation was from a misunderstanding hes being told *couldnt* have happened. When this call ended, he was called back within fifteen minutes to be told he couldnt rent the boat and suddenly, the boat was unable to be used due to issues at the lower end of the motor. If this were a real issue, it should have been checked and the customer informed prior to the day of the rental. If it were a made up issue to get out of a prior arrangement, you cant expect someone to not be annoyed by incorrect information, (and being told they couldnt possibly have been given incorrect information) and not state it.

We love our lunch meetings at Painter creek marina. The staff is warm and friendly and the food is always good. If you are into the night life it is a great place to catch a band, dance the night away and have a nice ice cold beverage.

Great place friendly people

This marina was a great place to rent a pontoon boat for the day. Its easy to find and the facilities are clean and neat! Everyone was very friendly and helpful during our visit. At the end of the day, we all ate at the restraunt. The atmosphere was very pleasing, and the food was delicious. Servings were bigger than we expected as well. Again, the service was fantastic! We will definitely be returning here again for another family outing!

I liked it because its located off of the main lake area where most of the traffic is. Noticed most boats, jet skis coming in @ low speed to give off low wake. We were sitting on a pontoon boat located in a slip under one of the covered areas. We were able to walk about & I barely felt any wakes. I even walked the dog on the walkway under the covered area & didnt worry about losing balance due to a large wake produced by an inconsiderate boater. Lots of boats coming in to gas up before continuing on with their lake journey.

Very fun place. Beautiful took the kids out let him swim in the lake. All the campgrounds had a parade with all these golf carts with lights and music it was just a good time you definitely need to try it out

We traveled almost 2 hours to get there only for the key to immediately break off into the ignition after trying to crank it. We then waited almost an hour to be told that there was nothing to be done but that they wouldnt charge us for the ignition they were going to have to replace. No extra key no extra boat. Nothing to be done but as this was to be my first day off in over a month I was pretty upset.

I posted a review on here over a week ago and it was removed. I will keep putting it back because I have never been treated so badly at an establishment. After 1 1/2 hour wait, we checked on our food and the cooks and security treated us like it was our fault. They also treated the waitress awful and it was not her fault. I will never go back!

After docking boat we were asked by the owner Sabrina to move to another location and was told that if we were asked to move that she told us to dock there.. Then while we were waiting on our food order a deck hand was moving our boat. When I told him that we were told by Sabrina to park there he just said it was reserved and it was a busy evening and it had to be moved to another location. I then went to Sabrina and told her we were being moved again and she just said that maybe he had reserved the spot and didn’t tell her. I told her that it was a poor business model to not post signs for customers of reserved spots and that we had just spent a good amount of money purchasing merchandise in her store and her only response was that it was really busy and she probably wasn’t informed. We’ve been to this location many times without any issues, not sure if she had just acquired this location but if this is the way things are going to be managed it won’t last long. I hope that service will go better in the future as this is a great location. As for the wait staff they were excellent and attended to our needs and the food was great!

Wonderful full service marina! The owners are the best people you could ever meet and their sons working the dock are super friendly and hard working. The staff all make you feel welcome no matter if you are stopping for gas, food or entertainment. Highly recommend

Best marina on South Holston

Wedding venue for friends was held here, gorgeous place. The staff was very helpful with whatever we needed. The house boats are stunning, especially on the inside. Highly recommend

Nice marina, everyone was nice. We were there 4th of July weekend and first they were changing the friers, then they had no water. This wasnt a huge issue just had to wait. It was more of the waitresses being unable to process multiple payments without complications that was a headache.

Beautiful view of lake good food,music and night is great, employees are very accommodating when needing gas or food.

Good swimming

We visited here on Saturday 20th to be be segregated due to having service animal. We had 6 people and the security guard met us to make us move to a 2 person table. Try to explain our dog was a service dog, which didnt matter. Went tback oday to try and speak with manager at painter creek grille to see about understanding ada laws with service animals. Provided documentation from ada.gov website even went as far as providing information from VA even though didnt have to. The grille manager stated would look it over and had me call back this afternoon. So in short when I called back the manager stated they was advised not to discuss the matter any further. This place has no reguards to any ada laws but yet no one will do anything about it. Sad that people with service animals get treated this way and no we are no talking about emotional support animals which they keep claiming.

The “manager” is a jerk who is the owners son. We rented a boat and got stranded 110-200 yards from the marina due to a bad fuel line. 30 minutes later, a small boat was sent with a guy who did not know how to tow us back. The employee even said “I’ve never done this before.” After almost hitting 2/3 other boats and an hour on the water, we finally returned to the marina. The manager changed the faulty fuel line and sent us on our way at 12pm. Were told we would be refunded $35 for our hour/two wait on the mechanical failure. We returned the boat at 4 pm without an anchor due to it not coming up with the rope (the business ties the rope to the anchor and sends you on your way). The employees said upon return. “Oh wow, usually people who mess up the anchor come back without a rope. That must have been a bad knot.” However, the owners son was very obnoxious, with a mouth full of tobacco, telling us we were responsible for the anchor. He refused to get us in touch with the owners of the marina. He also stated “I know I said I would refund $35 but I’m not doing that now because of the anchor and I’m charging for an anchor”. So, a $165 day at the lake turned into $270 day because the owners have no control over their obnoxious child that is in charge.

Excellent service and the food was good. The food portions were very large, so go hungry. Very enjoyable experience!

Love the lake but a terrible dock. No where to tie your boat in order to pull the truck out, never seen a place without a side dock., but people were very nice.

Good food and cold beer. Service started a little rocky but rebounded nicely with some help from another server. Had a great time here

In the summertime this is a great place to listen to some good music and get a bite to eat.

Made twice we went to this place and were turned down for service. Were told when we asked that we had 45 minutes to order but still was turned down after we docked at the parking dock the woman was very rude and unprofessional will not be going back to this place of business for anything

Friendly people great place to hang with the family

This is not the easiest place to find, hint, walk across the dock and then just sit down on either side and after a bit a server will come. We had two different burgers and both were very good. The french fries were ok but the onion rings were outstanding. This is so casual and friendly, since you are eating on a dock your view is the boats. Our waitress was super sweet and was getting ready to join the military. My biggest recommendation would be to put up some signs. We almost left when we decided to take the walk down the long dock to see what was there. Glad we did because we would have missed out on some great burgers.

Great club sandwich enough for 2 shared some funnel fries. Fish to watch while eating and kids feed the left overs for large carp and bluegill. Relaxing fun and food 🎣 kyacking boating.Great Service.

When we had a boat we kept it docked here. They are very friendly people. They have a wonderful grill with great food and live music during the summer on lots of weekends. Their store has about anything you could need while you are out on the lake.
