Goodness we have been wanting to eat here for a while. Either having the kids with us (picky eaters 😁) or it wasnt open prevented it from happening. But not today and boy we were pleasantly surprised with what we enjoyed for lunch!!! My wife got a half BLT with a soup that she just said was so delicious. I chose the shepherds pie. Wow! It was so so very good. Fresh, hot, amazing! We will definitely be going back here!!

This place was so cozy! It felt like I was in someones living room. The bookshelves were so cool. Lunch was incredible and the prices were great! I got the spinach salad with potato soup, and the salad comes with literally SO much fruit - they definitely do not hold back! Soup was hot and flavorful. My mom got the shepherds pie, and I tasted it and it was so rich and delicious! Also, the cookies are phenomenal - you can tell theyre definitely made in-house. Ill definitely be back soon!

Books and Bistro represents the best traditions of the finest, and now mostly disappeared, quality book stores operated by book lovers who provided a welcoming venue for others who love hard bound books. Situated in a restored early 20th century storefront on downtown Main Street Broken Arrow which has been modernized while carefully preserving the charm of the original. There are a dozen tables strategically separated to provide social distancing for relaxed examination of the broad selection of many volumes. From 11:00 to 1:00 lunch is served on those same tables. The owners son is an accomplished and innovative chef. Fare varies from day to day but includes a number of regulars. The Spinach Salad made with baby spinach, grape tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries and candied walnuts, with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and served with baguette bread is the best salad Ive had. The Hippie Grilled Cheese sandwich with bacon, tomato, four cheeses and roasted garlic mayo is simply extraordinary, and oversized to boot.

Was passing by with my girlfriend when she noted she had to use the restroom, and we happened to be outside McHuston’s. She popped inside & politely asked if she could use their restroom, and was answered with an unnecessarily rude β€œNo thanks.” Not β€œCustomers only” or β€œNot public” which would’ve been fine, just β€œNo thanks”. Only experience here & definitely don’t plan on being back.

We happened to be in Broken Arrow one day, from out of town! Saw Books & Bistro! We wanted lunch, but love to browse libraries & bookstores of all kinds! Walked in and was warmly greeted by the owner! Asked him what he recommended. Asked if it was really okay to read his books during lunch. It was all wonderful! A quiet hideaway for lunch! Well certainly do it again sometime, when back in Broken Arrow!Try this!
