Not sure what the complaint is about for customer service but they were really helpful when I was looking for an item that they had in stock. Ended up being helped by the store manager and assistant manager by chance and they were helpful and friendly.
Enough employees eager to ask if you need help, even on a busy Sunday. This store has upgraded self checkouts with scan guns rather than the conveyer belt style checkout. These were easy to use. Had to run to the store twice on Sunday for misc parts during a bathroom remodel. The second time was a joke during check out. With all lanes as self checkout, why the heck are only 3 open. There were at least 6 self check out lanes closed and a line of 10 plus people waiting. I understand a wait when there are limited cashiers but this just didnt make sense to me when it was all self checkout.
A friend and I were updating the look of my living room and went to The Depot to look for lamps, ceiling fixtures, and some pots to use for replanting my plants. We found table lamps, a piano lamp, dining room fixture, kitchen fixture, and the matching plant pots in one stop. We had a great time working with Travis and really enjoyed his humor, and of course his help. I was happily surprised to find all of that is one store. If only you carried decorating pillows! (Just kidding.) As a result, my living room is looking great and our 36 year old fixtures are gone. Thanks, Travis.
I like that people are talking about positive customer service interactions at this location. I have two reasons to give a less-than-stellar review: 1) store layout and presentation; and 2) hiring style. This Home Depot has less selection for gardening than Lowes so my partner and I go past this Home Depot to get there. This location is dusty and the restrooms are all the way in the back, which is far and inconvenient. The store lighting is dim. Product presentation is like a warehouse. Next, it seems like this location hires people who are on their way to Sturgis for the Harley-Davidson rally. There simply are no eager people working here. The employees seem gruff and do not go out of their way for customers. From what I have heard about the Home Depot executive leadership and how little customer-facing employees get paid, its a wonder that employees even acknowledge customers after they get flagged down.
Why no plants????
