I have lamented flooring in my house that was purchases from Home Depot and installed thru a Home Depot installer. We had an A/C water leak from a stopped up drain. My brother-in-law purchased flooring from Jones Carpet and raved about the. So needless to say I called them for an estimate. I explained my situation, she promptly told me to come in and pick something out. I explained to her where it was purchased and said I could bring in a piece that I wanted for the floor to match. The lady promptly told me they will only install what is purchased at Jones Carpet.Being a business owner myself (retired) and working in the retail business is the past, so here are my 2 thoughts.1.). Why would anyone turn away business? It’s true most businesses want to sell their own product. Many business owners would still take the job when they buy a product from somewhere els and sill get their labor costs. Just my opinion, but why would a business throw away money?2.). As a previous business owner (now retired) I know that a satisfied customer may tell one or two others about their experience, but an unsatisfed customer may tell ten or more people about their experience the a company.I WILL NEVER, NEVER use Jones Carpet.Brent Thomas
