Wonderful stop on the way home. Atticus and Patty were wonderful servers, atmosphere was welcoming and the food hit the spot! They even held the door for us on the way out! We will stop again.

The food is really good, but for me what makes this place so great is the people. They are so friendly! The burger is probably one of the best Ive had. If you like clam chowder, it is really good too. The restaurant is a neat little train car turned into a diner and is a neat atmosphere.

Omg by far the best burger and fries I have ever had! The food came out perfectly hot and juicey! The whole experience really made me say Wow this is an amazing restaurant!! Love the theme as well! Its cool to eat on a once used train! Really nice parking and they have to go as well! Super easy for people that need to use a ramp to get in as they have stairs to get up to the train. The staff and atmosphere were great! Believe its a family who owns it and my goodness they are just all wonderful! We had to get t-shirts from them and we hardly do that! Please please go visit them and check them out! I promise you will not be disappointed! If you are I will gladly pay for your meal! 😁

The decor was really nice. Id never been in a rail car turned restaurant before. Quite unique. And the waitstaff was very helpful and nice. The food was good, not great. And I thought the prices were a bit high. Just my opinion, you might disagree...I am glad that I tried this place out. You might want to give it a go too...

Our granddaughter had a football game in Santa Anna this afternoon. What a beautiful area, and a beautiful day. Afterwards, we had dinner at the Runaway Train Cafe, which is really a converted train car. The food and atmosphere were absolutely tremendous and the service and waitstaff superb. This will definitely go on my list of places to visit again.🙂👍

Absolutely loved this place. Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. Had the spicy (dont worry not too spicy at all!) chicken salad on jalapeno roll as well as some pecan ice cream pie! Husband and I split the Texas Toothpicks and the 1/2 order was perfect size for the two of us.

Chicken Salad and fried dill pickles were delicious! Staff and service - very courteous, efficient and kind!

Nice local eatery with good sandwich/salad/soup, I shared a cheesesteak sandwich with my date and it was delivered on 2 plates with chips. It was good. Water was refreshed often, service great.

Menu has been downsized, brought me the wrong burger made that right, but not size I Had ordered. My refill on lemonade, was water, and no word about running out, as I heard another girl tell another table. Not their best for our out of town guests.

Upon arrival the door was opened for us by a smiling staff member. I took note that the staff made it point to open the door and greet every customer. I had a delicious thick well seasoned Bacon Cheese Burger. It was AWESOME! The hamburger patty had to be hand made. The staff was polite, friendly and attentive to ensuring we had everything we desired. Yes, they even opened the door for us and wished us well as we departed. Best Texas hospitality weve had...ever! 😃👍🏼

We loved the unique setting and 50’s diner food! Every staff member opened the door for us and greeted us warmly. We absolutely loved this place, and will stop here again next time we are in town!

The army always takes me to off the map places across the US. Ended up at this interesting dinner made out of a train section. Their sandwiches are delicious and filling. Def recommend if you end up in Brownwood.

Burgers definitely good. Girlfriends was a tad underdone in the middle, not a big deal, she likes every piece of meat she eats well done and we neglected to mention that to our server, who was quite nice. Fries were exceptional. Booth we were in could use a deep cleaning, not a big deal either, just an observation. The train car itself is way cool. I look forward to going back and trying other menu items.

The train car was classic and the food was fantastic and reasonable and everyone was extremely polite and opening the doors for us when we came and when we left. Highly recommended

I was a little disappointed in the food based on all the outstanding reviews I’d read. Just your average burgers and shakes, but done well. Fries were crisp, atmosphere was rather fun and quirky.

We came here because our 4 year old loves trains and thought it would be a cool experience. We didn’t expect much but we were blown away. As soon as we walked up the steps, we were greeted by employees during a busy lunch rush. We took a seat and the waiter came and took our order immediately. The kids ordered strawberry shakes that were AMAZING. And we order one kids chicken strips and they brought it out already split for them! My husband ordered a blue cheese burger and wasn’t a fan but only because they used real blue cheese crumbles and it was unexpected. They brought him out a bacon burger no questions asked. My grilled chicken salad was so very good, not made with typical iceberg lettuce. Overall, the experience was outstanding. We will start coming here instead of Humphrey Pete’s from now on.

1st time I ever went into this establishment. Staff is super friendly very knowledgeable of their menu. One of the best hamburgers I think Ive ever had. I highly recommend this place. I dont remember the name of the appetizer I had but was onions and jalapenos fried they were wonderful as well. I was very impressed.

I normally dont take pictures but I feel obligated to show you what youre missing if you make it to this area of Texas or youve never been here. It is literally 2 remodeled passenger cars from the 40s/50s era. AMAZING FOOD AND STAFF. I received better service here than I have at most 3-4 star restaurants. The RR club is so good it was before I realized it. I also had a bowl of Baked potato soup, which all soups are made in house, and it was some of the best Ive had. I was told the Clam Chowder is even better. Ill find out next time I return. MUST HAVE THE PECAN ICE CREAM PIE. It was heavenly. Seriously dont miss this spot.

I love this place, it feels like home because the food is always so good and this place was actually my first job so it reminds me of back then.. I love the environment of it, I mean its a train! Who doesnt love trains? My son and I shared the hot fudge and coconut sundae, thats my absolute favorite, I would go there just for that honestly! I did actually because my sister bought me my birthday lunch today. I brought a friend with me today who has never been as well and she said she really liked the food too.Service is always on point and food is great!

What a very neat place. My nephew and his wife took us there to try basic Texas cooking and it was fantastic. We are three days away from Brownwood but we hope to be back when it’s safe to travel

What a fun atmosphere! The staff were super friendly and the service was great. We had to wait for a table but it was a pleasant wait. The burgers and shakes were great. My son loved dining in a train car and the staff were very sweet to the kids in the cafe. We will be back next summer when we visit.

Started with nice atmosphere. Then got better with waitress that wad on her first day. And to top it off, food wad awesome. One of the best tasting hamburgers Ive ever had. Very fresh, did not taste frozen. 5 stars.

My family and I drove from San Antonio and 2 other family members drove from Dallas to check out the place. Food was ok, the kids working there were great. Seating was uncomfortable but thats expected . There were a few dead flies and the windows to the place were filthy. Wouldnt go back. Wasnt really worth the drive.

This place is awesome! The burgers are great here. I really love that the restaurant is in an actual train. I like taking people new to the area here because of how interesting this place is as well as the good food. The inside is a little tight because it’s in a train, but still an amazing place to eat at.
