Friendly, knowledgeable staff, amazing skin care products! As someone with very sensitive skin, I can use very few lotions and soaps on the market. I have not used a single one of their products that I reacted to. The lotions from Modern Roots are smooth, natural, and fragrant without making you choke. I love it there and shop it regularly.

Just taking the time to give this place the review it deserves! I stopped in here a couple years ago after dealing with pretty severe skin allergies, mostly with the products I was using. I love the simple ingredients and usual use of essential oils for scent in everything. Locally owned, handmade, great ingredients, and thoughtful products. This place has been a huge help in reducing my skin sensitivity.A few of my favorites: Plain Jane lotion, good for face, hands and whole body. Not too thick or thin. Loved the conditioner bar (bonus that it doesnt come in plastic), but ultimately feel in love with the bottled Moss Resin Conditioner. Just tried the shampoo petals and love them because they get sudsy. Love the milk kefir cleanser, clay face mask, magnesium rub and cant go wrong with any of the handmade soaps. I come here often for gifts, whether for self care items for friends or baby / new mom products, they have some really unique and thoughtful options.There are obviously products I havent stuck with from here along the way, but just based on personal preference. This place has something for everyone and im so happy to live near such a cool shop!

One of my very favorite shops in Buffalo! The staff is always so friendly and I absolutely love their products - the roll on perfumes are my favorite along with their soaps and lip balms. Highly recommend stopping in if youre looking for clean, handmade products and great service!

Every time I’ve been into the Buffalo store from employees to owners they have been so helpful, friendly and willing to go above and beyond . I purchased their handcream as gifts for my fellow workers and they loved it ! Best gift they’ve ever received!! They were willing to stay open Late for me when I wanted to pick up a birthday gift... would highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality soaps, shampoos or products!!

I first bought my products in a brick and mortar store in Stillwater, MN and was happy with what I bought. I live in another state so I wanted to order so I went on-line. I bought over $100.00 worth of products. I purchased some lip balm scrub which from other stores that a purchased a similar product it was a soft consistency and this was as hard as a rock and couldnt even apply it to my lips. I contacted the owner, Meg, and she said she would look in to it and that was 3 days ago. I would like my credit card credited for the 2 lip balms that I purchased. I feel this is very poor customer service and sad that she doesnt care about her customers.

The cool cucumber deodorant is my favorite purchase here in addition to the cucumber foot lotion. I have purchased the lotions, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and bath bombs and all have been great. Originally visited the store for chaga tea but found so much more!

I got this as a gift for my wife. She raves about this hand cream and wont make it through a Minnesota winter without it!

There are few things you can do for yourself that are better than what you put in your body and what you put on your body. Meg has created a calming peaceful place for us to buy items that some of us would love to make..however do not have the time!Especially love: The trio of face cleansing products, the shampoo/conditioner and most loved and coveted is the Magnesium balm. My experience with this balm when applied to the bottom of my feet before sleep...I get t the most restful, rejuvenating nights sleep.Try everything! There is value in her products!Thanks Meg!

Simply the best!

I stopped here for the chaga tea powder that they make, which is my new coffee replacement. It tops the charts for antioxidants, and I love how it tastes earthy like coffee, but without the bitterness and caffeine. Try it for yourself! The people are friendly and helpful.

Since the Buffalo store opened, I have purchased a variety of products and havent ever been dissapointed. My favorite product for the summer is the Skeeter Stick...works wonders! My second favorite was the Unbeetable body silk! Awesome stuff! I visited Megs shop for the first time last month and got the grapefruit/lime facial bar, and two body bars with the loofa wrap. Ive been so impressed with all of them, but especially the facial bar. I use it every day and my skin feels so clean and looks radiant! All of the bars lather really well, and I LOVE the loofa holder in the shower -- brilliant! I live in Chicago, so I will be ordering online or stocking up on my next visit. Thank you Modern Roots! Keep up the great work!

This place is full of cool soaps that are from natural ingredients. Also they have natural lotions, natural laundry detergent,natural fabric softener and much more! The employees are always so nice, polite.and informed!

I love their natural products. The staff is extremely knowledgable and freindly. My only issue is with some of their prices.
