I purchased a Povinelli brand chefs knife. Its the best knife I have ever owned. The grade of steel they use is fantastic. Soft enough to sharpen well but hard enough to hold its edge. Highly recommend

I brought in 3 Henckels from my set [8 Chefs, 6 serrated and a 4 paring] and Paul did an amazing job of sharpening them better than when I originally purchased them new! Thanks you.Paul

Do not take expensive knives here. I just had my carbon steel Japanese knife sharpened by them and they completely ruined it. It has a kuroichi finish on it and when I took it out of the saya the woman working asked me if it was supposed to look like that. I specifically asked for it to be sharpened by hand on Whetstones, as she had communicated to me that they could do this if necessary. When I got my knife back, it had clearly been sharpened with a hollow grinder or a belt sander. The patina was gone, they took off way too much material, and the knife isnt even sharp. I would highly suggest avoiding their sharpening services.

They did a great job on my 4 knifes.

They sharpened my knives about six months ago and I cant wait for them to reopen for me to go back. I also need to purchase some new kitchen gadgets that I have noticed that my son has from here. I have to say the service was great and everyone was very friendly.

I have never used Povinelli but I have been consistently properly sharpening knives that they have nearly ruined. I am not sure how they sharpen knives, seems like maybe belt sanders possibly, as I’ve seen scratches high up on the blade, near the spine. They’ve actually changed shapes of knives as I’ve done a set of Cutcos that I had to try and reshape / sharpen.If you want a quality, hand sharpened knife down to 3200 grit, feel free to PM me on social media. You can find me there.I am by no means saying Povinelli are hacks as they’ve been around a long time but if you want a truly, well- sharpened blade, Reach out. $1 an inch of you haven’t been cutting concrete with them.

Took an assortment of kitchen knives to Povinelli Cutlery a few weeks ago, they did an awesome job sharpening them and prices very reasonable. We returned again recently with scissors and craft snips and again they did a super job. You cant get this quality of sharpening from a cheap sharpening gadget from the store.Recommend them totally !!

If you have expensive knife and you want precision sharpening DONT take It to Povinelli they just grind it, they have No precision sharpening tools . And No knowledge of sharpening, They ruined my knife and the finish on it, they grindened it way to high, I took it back and brought anther knife for example to show the difference, the damage was plane as day, you could total see the difference between the knifes . There idea of fixing it is to grind it more, you cant fix it by grinding it more, you cant put back what you grind off . I wish they would of just told me they cant do it instead of destroying my knife.which tells me they have No knowledge of sharpening. Would not even offer to replace it . Just grind some more lol . Joke ! your better off doing it yourself. So if you have knifes you like and want the best for them Dont go to Povinelli. Bunch of Hacks .

This review is about an employee not the company. Tyler Pamplin is very disrespectful on social media and tries to use his job title as an excuse to troll and bad mouth people. Im sure this company provides excellent services but they should be aware of their employees actions on social media as it may hurt their bottom line.
