I recently rigged out my RED Komodo at Hot Rod Cameras and I had a great experience. Nathaniel and Dane were extremely helpful and gave great advice on what items to get.I put together a gimbal setup. I bought the Tilta basic ring as well as a controller, nano gold mount batteries and a plate that ended up being the perfect setup for me.I went in not knowing what I would need to get and I left a happy customer. I even had problems with one of the hardware pieces and Nathaniel made sure that the parts were exchanged and everything worked perfectly before I left.

This camera store always has everything in stock that I need! The staff is always incredible and works with me to find and obtain every piece of equipment and answer all my questions. Ive never had a bad experience, and I come here every couple weeks.

The toy store is open! So nice to be able to get inside (theyre still being strict, with a crowd limit and per-customer time limit of 30 minutes). But thats cool, seems sensible, and theyre as friendly and helpful as ever. They had stock of stuff I was having a hard time finding anywhere else - super pleased.

Open during the pandemic (just ring the bell!), And really nice people. Fantastic selection of camera gear and hard to find accessories to buy and rent!

We needed a specialty camera lens that was out of stock elsewhere. The super helpful staff (especially Lisa) at Hot Rod Cameras went out of their way and even took time outside of their normal operating hours to make sure we got what we needed, on time. They were pleasant to work with and the owner even took time to thank us for ordering from them. A true Pro Mom & Pop store in every sense of the word.

They were the only spot in LA that everything I needed for a last second gig. They were also the only store that kept stock on Blackmagic cameras, so I was able to pickup a 6k the day of. How cool is that?

This shop is what you want from a pro camera store. Lots of insider knowledge, lots of honest assessments and tons of technical knowledge. From cameras to lenses to lights to even post tools, this is a wonderful operation that keeps the customers and friends it makes by being really good at what they do. Time spent in the shop is time well spent. I always leave smarter than I did going in.

Came in here the other day for my first time to pick up a simple lens adapter. The showroom was so nice with some great products and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I even got a free T-shirt! I will definitely be returning!

I just did business with Hot Rod for the first time last month. Which is CRAZY because I’ve known about them for years now. Anyways, I was in a pickle and needed two Quasar tubes FAST and I didn’t have time to pick them up. Lisa was able to help me get the tubes I needed and she overnighted them to me. Ilya Friedman is a special brand of awesome. His Hot Rod Cameras shop, staff, and the man himself are unparalleled. Ilya ran back and forth twice to Sun Valley to get me the exact case I needed for my next day shoot. This kept him past closing time and he skipped his already late lunch to help me. Im not a huge account, but I was treated like I was NBC or Disney ordering thousands of dollars worth of gear. Support this shop, it deserves to grow and Ilya deserves to be a wealthy man.
