Having a newly experienced need to recover some RV cushions, I was directed to Mill End Fabrics in Burley, Idaho. As I was a bit of a fish out of water, the helpful staff walked me through the process.Luckily, my engineering background had equipped me with the hard facts: the cushions measurements. In short order the foam was cut to the sizes I needed.Next, we figured out the yardage, and I browsed through the ample inventory of wear and water resistant fabrics, colors and designs.Next stop: an upholsterer, then its back to the RV.

I have been to this fabric store twice. Both times the staff were courteous and helpful to me as well as other customers. The selection is fabulous and prices very reasonable. I plan to visit often. It was more than worth the 45 mile trip.

Wife returned to this store she loves to buy fabric at and had to listen to the manager of the store go on a tirade about masks not working, they are not proven to stop contagious diseases, specifically Covid-19. She didnt understand why schools were closed because only 1 child died and they were 17 with underlying health issues. Saying this like the child didnt matter, due their weakness, as a person. Apparently she prefers to go to medical procedures and the dentist and have all the professionals not wear a mask since they dont work. According to her its not proven, even though medical professionals, epidemiologists etc., use them daily and have since the Manchurian plague epidemic in 1910. When I called to complain the owner wasnt available. Other employees didnt agree with her behavior but are afraid to say anything due to her being their boss. We wont be returning to this store unfortunately, even though they have great selections. One person who cant keep their uneducated opinions to themselves in a work environment can ruin it for you. Sounds like there might be some hostile work environment going on as well.

The BEST selection on fabrics, textiles and batting/ foam in the Area! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile!

These guys really have an awesome selection and have so much of the things that I need. I love talking to the employees, because they have so many good ideas and quilting wisdom to impart. Really, I appreciate them so much.

Today my mom went to Mill End Fabrics in burley to purchase 1/2 a yard of black fabric and they were refusing to provide her service because she did not speak English and was told she needed to speak English if she wanted to buy something from the store. It was until a Spanish speaking worker had to help my mom purchase her fabrics. It’s really disappointing to hear that my mother cannot go to a store to purchase fabric in our own community. English is not the official language of the U.S. and no one should have treated her or made her feel bad for not being able to speak it. So if you know of someone that does not speak English and wants to go to this fabric store please do not let them go alone so they do not have to experience what my mom had to.

When I first got into the store I went straight to the counter to ask where I could find the fabric I was looking for. The lady that I spoke with had shorter hair (they dont wear name tags, sorry) and acted pretty annoyed that I was asking for a specific fabric. She pointed to the isle and I went but a little off put. I got to the fabric and saw that all of the labels were not specific as to the percentage of what was in the material plus the tags were either not labeled or had fallen off. I needed this specific fabric for a medical purpose (just 100% wool flannel). I would have been happy to go to Twin Falls if they did not have it and I wouldnt have made a fuss about it. But I find one that feels close, at least, and go back to he counter. There was a different woman, with longer hair, that helped me and she was kind and willing to help me find out if the fabric was what I needed. She went off to test the fabric and I stood there trying to keep my two sons corralled, which was fine, haha, then the first woman saw that I was standing there. She walks up touches my fabric but doesnt say a word to me more does she ask if I needed it cut. At this point I just decide to tell her what I need it for so maybe she would understand rather than thinking Im walking into her place of work and shooting demands asking for some fancy whatever fabric. She still continues to act irritated that I am being so specific so I proceed to tell he that shes not being very nice. Then she becomes helpful and helps me and the other worker once she comes back from testing the fabric. I got what ultimately needed, I think. The first woman ended up cutting my fabric, gave me a discount because it had a mark on the fabric, which was kind, but is ultimately what every fabric store should do for you. I understand that people have bad days and are at work unfortunately on those days, but it should never effect the service you render to clients. I give my word that I was not being unkind, I seriously had a medical need for this fabric. But I shouldnt have to display that need just to get proper service. Besides this incident, the store looked like a great place to find your blanket needs. But if you have a pattern with specific fabric needs, be ready to share your whole life story and your social security number (wink) and be very honest with how your being treated. I thought this may be helpful for those that are shy and dont usually stand up for themselves, and for those that need something specific, the levels are non-existent and customer service wont be very helpful. Save the trip for twin and or maybe do some online shopping for complicated specifics. Happy fabric shopping xx

Absolutely can’t believe this business refuses service for those who can not speak English.

There’s lots of upholstery fabric remnants, fake fur, and quilting fabric. I didn’t find what I was looking for, but I still bought something for a future project. It was sort of like a scavenger hunt. Fun!

Love this store. Always find particular fabric with a great price that I cannot find locally. The ladies have always been very pleasant.
