There’s a handful of Games by James around the Twin Cities, but we love the Burnsville Center Mall location. Recently upgraded with a huge selection of games and puzzles for pretty much anyone. I really miss the Wednesday night gaming sessions they held at the mall. It was a great way to be introduced to new games. Hopefully soon open playing will be open again. They also carry a selection of games from local game designers (like me) ! And they staff is knowledgeable and friendly, unlike game stores of the 90s and 2000’s.

U believable what there are for games today, and if it exist, they have it.

These fine people just moved across the hall into a much bigger space and its turned out well. Its just walls of titles, racks of supplies, and helpful conversation in a nice spacious and quiet store. I love to stop in just to talk board games and the newest TCG sets.

This is a great store with a wide selection of games, cards, dice, etc. Open play / gaming is hosted in the food court. Friendly staff and good players. I highly recommend checking out this store if you are in the Twin Cities any time.

Amazing store! They have a huge selection of board games that rivals most stores. This was in especially cool location and the staff there know a lot about the games and have obviously played most of them themselves. Very impressed. Reasonable prices, too especially when compared to online shopping.

We needed a new game. Thank you Games by James! Not only did we find a national parks game, there were two!! Bought both games. Enjoy coming to Games by James. So many games to choose from. Thank you for having the games!

Customer service here rocks. Matt was awesome. He helped me pick out a perfect game, he was super friendly, and he nerded out about DND with me for like 15 minutes before he had to take a call.I’ll probably be back for the expansions to my new game soon, and I hope he’s there to chat with again!Don’t buy games on Amazon! This store is well spaced for covid-friendly shopping. And as always, friendly, helpful staff, but never pushy. This is a great place to find a classic puzzle or chess set, or a new designer board game.

They have such a great assortment of games for all ages! Great for Christmas presents! And great for family game night!

Great store. Sometimes hard to compare prices between brick and mortar stores and online behemoths. This store really emphasizes the value of in person shopping with experts and people who really enjoy what they do. Staff were knowledgeable on all the games we asked about, pointed out recommendations and were fun to talk with. Highly recommend!

Games By James @ The Burnsville Mall, is absolutely lovely! The employees take their job and makes it an art, they help young shoppers learn pretty complex board games by playing it with them! In the several times Ive been here I always have a good time. Its an amazing store I reccomend to any board game enthusiasts.

As a 33 year old, its frankly insulting to have an employee literally follow you around the store. Frankly youre lucky I spent any money here. Do I have a rewards account? Yes I do because Ive spent hundreds of dollars here just to have you breathe down my neck and treat me like a potential shoplifter.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff on hand to assist in choosing the perfect game. Good stock of new games and expansions.

Great to look, knowledgeable staff that is somewhat over bearing at times. Problem is (like most places) online prices are much cheaper. Some board games are 75% less online then in the store.

Nice place to pick up your next game. You might find it for slightly cheaper elsewhere but you wont get the recommendations and insight from a staff that truly loves games.

Great store, they sponsor D&D events almost every Thursday evening. The DM for the oneshot events is awesome and creative. The learn to play events are run by Ryan the store manager and are very helpful. The entire staff seems to be familiar with the games they sell and are excited to answer questions and help you pick the right products whether for yourself or as a gift for a friend.

They have some of all kinds of board and card game s. Yugi, magic the gathering, Pokemon are some of the games. Many if the classic games. Also new board games of the fantasy and sci fi genre. Finally, they have role playing games such as dungeon s and dragons and similar games.

Staff actually have played the games and know what to recommend. Great shopping experience.

Games by james is an amazing one stop shop for all nerds of all kinds they got dnd pathfinders and a bunch of board games as well as dice and anything u would need for table top games again sorry for the past review that was for st johns church.

I love and have always loved Games By James, ever since I was a little kid. After I got back into tabletop gaming a couple years ago, they have been my go-to store to shop at locally. I normally shop at the Southdale location, as its closer to me, but since we were in the area, we checked out this store, as well.They seemed a tad smaller than Southdale, but still decently large. Selection was wonderful, as I would expect, and the staff there were extremely friendly, as well. I didnt buy anything on that trip, but my buddy did end up going back and buying me some D&D books for my birthday after we talked about it in the store with the employee.Overall, a great store thats part of a wonderful chain, and I would highly recommend them.

My mom and I came in looking for gifts for my family as we are all big on board games. Upon arrival I was instantly greeted by an associate, Ryan, he was very helpful and had suggestions for all age groups. He gave us a short description of his reccomendations and helped us find the prefect presents! I was also looking at their puzzle selection because I work in a group home and my residents like doing puzzles, unfortunately all they had were large puzzles, and I was in the market for a smaller one around 50-100 peices. Ryan then let us know that they could put in for some so the store would have some in stock. I came back to the store about 2 weeks later and they had the puzzles that I was looking for. I was amazed at the customer service my mom and I received. This time of year stores can be busy and chaotic, but the fact that someone took the time out of their day to help us was greatly appreciated.
