The staff was very nice and had our meat out quickly. We had all of the cuts we requested, and the meat was packaged well. Will definitely go back!

Had a whole cow butchered through them did not get the cuts we asked for AND didn’t even cut the sirloin off the ribeye plus the packaging was awful.I Do not recommend them at all!!!!!!

Hey just wanna share our experience with these guys!!! I got called for cutting instructions which was pretty basic!! 4 weeks later we had to call and inquire why we hadnt received our beef yet!! The gal wrote our number down wrong on our order sheet and shrugged it off, while picking up the guy that brought out our order was impersonal and rude, Im sorry We imposed on your day!!! We have mostly ground beef from a half and some of the packages arent sealed properly, the beef is tough possibly from not being hung long enough. The cuts are sloppy, same with the wrap!! When paying for our beef there was a lot of flys landing on the raw meat on the tables being cut!! We do not intend to come back to this places and I recommend you dont either, you will get horrible treatment and sloppy cut and wrap- not to mention the beef we paid a lot of money for is tough......are these guys inspected??? totally unacceptableExtremely unhappy

If you like spending 800 dollars for 58# of ground beef & 35# of mediocre cuts, go here! I would recommend idaho Food co op or Ebony Rose Ranch. Less $ & they will deliver. These guys are crooks. Buyer beware.

Ty and his staff are great. We use Rising Star all the time .They vacuum seal there meats. And I feel like we get every bit of our own meat back. I would recommend them to anyone.

We had four beef butchered and they were instrumental in getting all the different people that had half or whole beef orders done correctly as they wanted. We will be taking 4 more in to them this year again as we were very happy with the service they provided, and worked with us to be able to drop off on a saturday.

Recently took bear meat to this butcher shop. Upon dropping off the frozen quarters, we requested that our reusable TAG game bags be kept. We were told, yes well keep them for you to pick up with your meat. Upon picking up meat, there were no game bags. When we inquired about this we were met with very unprofessional, emphatic, I threw those away. The story then switched to, I told you to take them with you if you wanted them. I dont care if I needed to take the quarters out of the bags then or if I picked up the bloody bags with the meat. I dont have any care either way but when Im told I can get them with the meat, that was the communication I was operating on. So, the cost of the processing now includes the game bags, which arent cheap and have to be shipped from Alaska. The manner in which this was handled was very unprofessional and callous with no care about the reputation of the business. Be aware of this.

Had a deer butchered here in 2018. The price was fair and I had received two separate recommendations. Well the process was easy enough, the guy seemed well, he seemed okay. I picked up my meat and scrutinized the count (as my neighbor had experienced a big loss of meat prior) All seemed well until we started to thaw for dinners/breakfast. I am not exaggerating in the least, every single pack has been poorly sealed. Very single one of them has had a leak. We lost all of the Summer sausage 😫 and at least half the jerky. These would mold within 24 hrs of opening, refrigerated or not.So in closing I would not recommend this butcher.

Dropped off a large bag of bear meat to have them grind it all into breakfest sausage. This was my first time taking a bear so I was a little timid on what to do. Dropped the meat off on Thursday and picked it up Monday all done and frozen. Very nicely packaged. Thawed a pack out and made biscuits and gravy with it. Zero seasoning added and let me tell you wow! Extremely great flavor. Will always use them in the future. Thanks Rising Star!

These guys did a great job butchering our 3 steers. They fully customized our beef from the steak thickness to fat in the hamburger. The whole order was just as we wanted it. Not the easiest to find place but we will be back when the freezer is empty!
