Over all my experience with English has been good. Recently though, not so much. I have always based my build on the recommendation of English. There was always good communication about what supporting mods were required to reach goals. If I wanted to try a unfamiliar mod, I could always pick there brain to see if it would help me reach my goals or if they even recommended using item. And I always walked away feeling like I understood what needed to happen and what I would get. I didn’t feel blind in any way.I’m not sure if it the new staff or if the whole business model changed, but recently I decided I wanted to change my set up. I inquired about what would need to happen in order to reach my goals. And I was given a price but they wouldn’t tell me what I was purchasing and when I asked what it was I would be purchasing, I was told that I needed to purchase the set up before they would tell me what I was purchasing.This last experience was very poor. I felt as though I was being strong armed in to making a blind purchases. That’s not the English I’m familiar with!

The worst tuners I’ve ever seen, couldn’t even perform a compression test correctly to diagnose an issue and was charged for them not doing anything, waited 8 hours for the owner to say they couldn’t tune it due to an unknown problem. Towed it 8 hours home for a local mechanic to diagnose the correct issue that took 15 mins. They refused to tune the car and wasted everyone’s time. I could find a back alley tuner that’s more professional than these jokes.

I have taken my Evolution here ever since I bought it. And honestly will not go any where else. From their customer service to the work there perform. It is top notch. I have had my car aligned there twice there, and have had it tuned and I will say great quality of work is always performed.

English Racing is just straight up a good group of people that truly love cars that go vroom vroom. I drove 4 hours to bring my car to them, and they got a ton of work done while I was there. My car was having some seriously strange issues, but they did everything they could to get me rollin. Myles, Aaron, and everyone else are extremely knowledgable, and I dont plan on bringing my Evo X anywhere else.

Ive had my car(EVO X MR) tuned by these guys twice now and right off the bat I was surprised by how much better the transmission behaved compared to stock. Power gain was good and safe for my setup. The second time I got tuned I had to come back to have them fix an issue that I ended up being the cause of, but they were cool about it. I got to meet Aaron and Lucas while I was there though, and was impressed with level of knowledge they have on tuning and wrenching on these cars. They should write a book or something to pass all that information down lol. Miles knows a lot too and theyre all cool people. With the amount of knowledge and experience these guys have on the EVO platform, I wouldnt trust anyone else with my MR. Worth every penny!

Impressive turn around time for an mitsubishi clutch job

These guys are incredible. Took my procharged Shelby GT350 in for a tune. They identified some problems with work done by previous shops, kept me updated on costs associated with the repairs, and did a fantastic job. In the end, my car made more power, is more reliable, and is much more fun. I would highly recommend this shop for performance work.

I took my 2008 Mitsubishi Evo 10 to English Racing on a few occasions now for service, repairs, and a tune. From my first foot in the door, Ive been met by folks with a great attitude and been provided the professional service you can expect from a top notch shop. They were able to answer my questions, addressed my concerns, and brought to my attention things that have previously been done incorrectly by other shops (and myself) that could have been a detriment to the health of my motor.From my tune at just 9k miles to 130k miles today, the car feels just as strong as it did then and all of this without incident. This is one shop I can say provides not only great customer service but also performs great mechanical service. I am grateful for their staff members and their expertise. I would, and do, reccomend this shop when I hear folks asking for an honest mechanic/shop to take their performance vehicles to.

I live in Lynnwood, WA which is about 3.5 hours away from English Racing. However I’m really glad I made the drive there to tune my vehicle and to be quite honest... will continue to do so for all my Evo needs. English Racing has a huge following in the Pacific NW, and even outside of it. Which I can honestly say now that they are definitely qualified and exceeds all expectations. Once again, I’m very appreciative of the care and knowledge regarding all things “Evo” and you need to head there and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

English Racing is the best in the business if youre a sports car enthusiast in the PNW. I had a power goal for my Evo 8, they gave me a list of recommendations, built it, tested it out, and I got exactly what I wanted. Car pulls hard, sounds mean as hell and is just stupid fun to drive. Look them up on YouTube, you wont be disappointed.

I had my 2015 STi tuned by Team English last week and I couldnt be happier with the results and my experience with the team. Myles and Jimmy were both polite, professional and super easy to strike a conversation with. I wasnt surprised by that though because they were very cordial and on the ball with communication leading up to the day of my tune. Let me tell you, this is the type of place you want to take your car to. While I was there for several hours I was able to witness the shop atmosphere and I was very impressed with how well these guys were handling all of the phone calls, random folks walking in, setting priorities on the fly...You name it, these guys were on it. I know there are some great shops out there but I truly believe these guys are in that upper echelon. I could go on and on but I will just say one last thing, if youre from out of state or some place that will require quite the journey...make the trip, youll be happy you did ;)

This is a great group of knowledgeable and friendly guys. Its rare to find a shop that is knowledgeable and honest, and this area is lucky to have English Racing around. For performance upgrades and engine builds as well as tuning on their AWD dyno, I can definitely recommend them.

Top notch customer service. The staff always takes time to answer any and all of my build questions and gives advice and guidance that I may have not thought of or knew about. Dynoed a couple cars today. Staff is casual, but professional. Amazingly clean establishment and they did their best to keep us comfortable in the 35° weather while we watched and waited. Gave a lot of feedback and advice for each car. Absolutely no complaints.

These guys are the best. Had my evo tuned there and they were fantastic both at the tune and informing you on the why and how of it all. I also had a issue and on extremely short notice they were able to slide me in to get me back and ready for my trip. I HIGHLY recommend them!

The guys I have worked with here have always been friendly. They have tuned my Evo IX twice including some part installs: fuel pump, electronic boost controller. I always learn something during the dynos as the team at English like to educate people on good part combinations, car behavior, risks, etc. I plan to work with them on a new turbo install and tune in the future.

This group only wants your money. They dont care about you as a person, they dont like you, they dont want to. Their not going to. Be forewarned ahead of time. Nobody is asking them to become your best friend, whatsoever. But what we the public expect at a minimum is that you check your unmanaged Egos at the door. Life is multi-faceted, it possesses so much more than falling down and worshipping those who go fast, or those who can build a fast motor, or set some speed record. In the big picture of life, something truly insignificant. Go ahead just continue to waste your hard earned money here. I have had conversations with many whom I have provided turbos to that state they would not return ever due to these very things I state.

They were very polite and professional. Myles was very patient with my scheduling issues and i really appreciate it. I had to cancel twice and he was still willing to work with me so i really appreciate it. Jimmy was also very polite, I showed up during their lunch break and he came out and greeted me and got started on my paperwork and let me look around when he could of easily of had me wait until after their lunch break so i really appreciated that too. As far as service goes Jimmy and Myles were honest about what was going on with my evo. They only bad thing id ever have to say was I wish Leo would let us pet him and if Myles could stop playing hard to get and send my dyno video :( Myles if you see this slide into my dms bruh thanks. This is the ONLY shop I would EVER trust to work on my car.We in the NW are very lucky we have one of the top tuners in the world local to us!Lucas Tuned my 95 eclipse,went to the dyno with 210hp left with 265hp...Aaron tuned my Evo8 went in with 280hp left with 335hp.VERY nice people willing to BS and answer any questions you ask.I will continue coming back. These people leaving negative reviews look like they are all doing it because someone told them to. Doesnt sound legitimate at all they have always treated me great and been more fair then most places would be.

Messaged English racing on a GTR that they had tuned for a dealership that I was looking to purchase. They could have lied about what they thought about the engine of the GTR they worked on, but instead they agreed the engine in that particular GTR was not stock and was putting out power less than that model year should have been (2014 GTR that was putting out power of a 2009-2011). They let me know that there was also aftermarket clutches in it and that they had an inkling it might have been a built motor that blew up and was converted back to stock prior to auction that the dealership bought. The dealership I think tried to hide it by tuning the engine prior to sale. Thanks English Racing for saving a customer from a big headache!!

Excellent people, Lucas is a pure generous when it comes to cars, the amount of professionalism is unmatched and the work is superb - there is a reason the hold the world record for the Evo and the GTR.For those of you unsure because of some of the one star ratings, there was a bad deal where the other person had people create accounts to drop his rating. 5/5 stars all day any day.

Great customer service along with outstanding workmanship.

I like this place, theyre typically fairly nice people. The tuner Aaron has zero face with customers. The two times I have been, he has said little to no words to me and has had other people speak for him. I recently went down to fix an idle issue with his tune on my car. He couldnt fix it, and said it was my hardware and I needed to spend $1600 to get it done right. In the interum, he put a worse tune on my car that deletes the MAF. Ill give him one thing - he definitely got rid of my idle issue, but now Ive got two other issues that make the car almost undriveable. I dont blame English, but I really wish they tried to help me more rather than telling me to spend money on the parts they like and then pay for another retune to resolve my issue. Just sucks, I know these guys rock and I want to keep going to them, but my experiences have been rough. Thanks for all the help so far either way.Edit: After speaking to Myles, he was great enough to go out of his way and help me with getting my tune to a more manageable place. There was some miscommunication prior due to having a kit installed at a different shop and then the shop taking it to English. The car is running better than it was, but its still not perfect due to the combination of parts that I have, but they took the time to make it work for me. They were also able to give me a loaner while they had my car - which was super nice/unexpected. My advice would be to have these guys do the work & the tune rather than just the tune - theyll know your car a little better and be able to give you the info you need from the start. I like to think that if I had done the kit install through these guys, they would have made an effort to let me know what problems I would run into with the kit as-is and what I should purchase instead to avoid them (in this case, different intake & a DV rather than BOV)Thanks for all the help Myles, it is appreciated.

English racing I dont know where to begin the relationship I have built with the group of guys there has been amazing since I went to them 5 years ago! I highly recommend them for any auto services you may need whether its building a race car down to the oil change on your commuter the guys know how to do it and do it right! So if your new to the camas wa area and need shop recommendations English racing is where its at I drive 2.5 hrs just to have them work on my evo! I was pretty glad to see my husband cease all business here. Our company provided 7-8 turbos all highly custom and everything was real good. We even outran the famous 18K turbo quite well with our smaller more afford-ably priced unit. The last 2-3 were prepared by an ex-employee who ran into serious problems lawfully. He had literally checked out mentally for a month or so before my husband realized it. We had 1 paid turbo failure: 1. Lucas came absolutely unhinged on my husband. Truly one of the worst treatments I ever had to witness. It was entirely unreasonable. My husband drove 3 hours round trip to Lucass shop free of charge for all pickups and drop-offs of paid work because he is an insufferable gear head and was excited to work with English Racing. This was no different. He immediately went and picked up the turbo, brought it back, identified the problem, repaired it free of charge (of course) and returned it free of charge within 48 hours. This was apparently unacceptable. This turbo was prepared by the ex-employee. My husband corrected the problem at once. Handled business in a truly professional manner and that was not good enough for Lucas. My advice: stay away from shops whom the owner never truly grows up and becomes the gentleman they are supposed to. I assure you that is the case here.

#1 place that Im aware of to take your Evo, DSM, GTR, etc. They have the best job in the world and you can tell each and every one of them takes pride in what they do. Im very particular with my car and every time I take it there for any work I get it back in the exact same shape I left it. No scratches, dents, everything is installed 100% and working the way it should - they treat it like its their own and it shows. I get treated like a client and not just a customer. -JM

English Racing has definitely lived up to their reputation. One of the best things about owning an Evo is that English is my Shop!When I owned my STi, every time I took it to the shop, it would take weeks & one time it took 7 months for an Engine build! It was supposed to be 3 months, and I never received a phone call to update me on the progress or that they needed extra time... But with English, 1st time I took my Evo to them was for a new tranny & clutch. I think it was there for a week, maybe. During the time there Aaron had called me 2wice to update me on the situation. When they called me to tell me that my car was ready, I was seriously in shock, bcuz I hadnt had a positive experience with a tuner shop until then.Now my Evo is back with them for a TOB clip replacement(yeah, I know. FML)& it should be done the same day or the next. They are a big reason why I like my Evo 8 better than any of my STis.I wouldnt hesitate to take my Evo to English Racing... And prolly wouldnt take it anywhere else!

Lucas English is one of the rudest business owners I have ever met. Please realize that just because he is worshipped by the 20 something crowd means very little in regards to his personal integrity. He was business associates with one of the most crooked individuals to come along in a long time. Lease Locators: google it. You will find out for yourself. Lease Locators bilked a couple of million dollars out of a whole host of people and then left the country. This was a business associate of Lucass personally. When what I call arich daddys boy one who never earned his wealth but truly got it all handed to him from his rich father passing away: I got no respect for this at all. I was witness to how horrible he treated one of my close friends and it is truly appalling anyone ever uses his services. These young fellows are complete scam artists. Its just a matter of time before the world will see them for what they truly are. Avoid at all costs.

If going fast is your goal, these guys will make it happen.

My evo x came back from a shop in Spokane with some issues, English Racing was able to diagnose the problem and prevent boost creep with my SINGLE wastegate build (a turbo the size of a precision 62/66 on a 2.0L needs two wastegates) not going to throw out names of who built my turbo kit, but Ill be trusting English Racing to redo my build and others for now on. Hands down, English Racing you and your team have earned my business, thank you for the awesome tune, excellent support and great customer service.

English helped me with a misfire that no one else could figure out. Previous mechanic replaced my crankcase sensor, my coil on plugs, spark plugs and a small vacuum leak. Took it to English they re tuned it and boom gone. Mostly dealt with Aaron who is a wealth of information from experience to knowledge and can explain it so almost anyone can understand. All the mechanics are nice and very helpful you just have to understand sometimes they have phones ringing off the hook with a million customers coming in so they cant always take a ton of time on the phone. (Only complaint I heard about them but you cant realistically expect a company to answer 20 questions about what ifs on your car especially if you dont even have a appointment) I highly recommend English even if it means going out of your way to get there. They have the most experience with the Evos DSMs & GTRs not to mention some of the world records.

Just had my Evo X tuned @ English-There is a reason why English Racing is at the tip of everyone`s mouth when it comes to Evo`s, GTR`s and the import scene.Aaron did a stunning job tuning my X he got the car to idle so much more smoother even with the large cams. He spent his time explaining to me specifics of the tune and what my car can and cant do.It`s hard now a days to find a person and shop that will take a personal interest in giving you advice and time to get you the best results.Cannot say enough how lucky I am to be somewhat local and know English is just a call or 1 hour drive away for all my Evo X needs.These guys are the real deal!

Great people, Great parts, Expensive prices...They want 4500 dollars for an OEM rebuild on a 1992 Talon...You can buy a EVO motor for 2200, Or a cyclone jdm motor for 1800. Be careful how you spend your money, seems a little insane priced to me...

Got work done on my car at English and they didnt tighten the drain bolt to the transmission or put a nut on the back of a bolt for my engine mount so transmission oil was leaking and engine was not secured properly and I had a 3 hour drive home lucky I saw it before hand. Also they are very rude
