Nice customer service depending on who you get, but the order is correct only about 25% of the time.
Fast service, friendly staff. Cold brew was good. Cute space to hang out.
This is, I believe, the newest Pavement location. Theyve found themselves a home on Harvards campus right inside the Smith Center. They have their own entrance right off of Mass Ave. The quality is what Ive come to expect and there is lots of seating to hang around! Only docking a star because it lacks the charm of their other locations. Feels a little more fast-food coffee than craft coffee.
That’s one bitter coffee 😬
The vegan banana muffin is awesome. Their sandwich menu used to be great. I’ve had a couple bagel sandwiches recently that were not very good. Their menu has changed in the last few years.Their chai lattes are also pretty decent.
Worst customer experience ever. I stood online to get served. When it was my turn, I asked for chocolate croissant, which they didnt have but forgot to take off the tag. Instead, I ordered an almond croissant. The cashier pick a croissant, waved it in the air until all of the almonds have fallen off the croissant, and then gave it to me in a bag. I then asked if I could pick one myself. He refused and said thats the one he picked for me and hes got a line to serve. As I felt so rushed to pick up my stuff and leave, he mocked me for forgetting to pay. This cafe locates in the lobby of the Smith Center, which is the center of Harvard campus. It serves the Harvard community and represents Harvard to visitors. It it embarrassing that I observe such behaviors in the center of my campus, where I consider home.
Very nice cafe with lots of seating and outlets. Definitely a great place to grab a coffee and pastry and do work. The second floor has seats that face out into Harvard Yard and is nice for watching the people below.
Coffee drinks are very good, but they have the slowest baristas in the known universe (it just took two of them over 15 minutes to prepare 7 espresso drinks — and that’s one of their more efficient teams). Food wise the main fare is bagel sandwiches; pastries are of variable quality (beware, the croissants look good but aren’t; get a scone or a brownie instead). The fare would be worth 5 stars but there’s just no excuse for the staggering inefficiency of the staff.
Worst Service EverI explicitly stated I was in a hurry and all they did was diddle this is not comedy central or a dance party; people have places they need to be.I ordered a bagel usually they give you the bagel right away no here they took forever I didnt even get my bagel because of my class time. I even said I dont want it warmed because I would become late to class. No one was moving there were two workers who were just standing there and doing nothing. Also their coffee is terrible especially with vanilla flavoring it tastes so artificial. If youre in a hurry do not go they have no respect for peoples time; worst service ever.
The staff is great They always take care of me, Best coffee in the entire planet 🌎 No Cap ❤️
One of the worst customer service experience ever. The girl cashier have bad attitude and was really rude. She prepared a wrong order and when I pointed out she didn’t even apologize but tried to over charge me for the wrong order.
Decent coffee, relatively quick - far from third wave, burnt espresso
With their prime location and trendy menu, Pavement Coffeehouse could be great, if only their coffee wasnt awful. As I write this review, Im sitting in the second floor seating, overlooking the heart of Harvard Square and drinking a disappointing cortado. The cortado is a simple drink - its like a latte with less milk - but they managed to mess it up anyway. Theres not enough milk, but that would be forgivable if the beans werent also burned. In a drink with two ingredients, you cant mess up both of them.Pavement only earns a second star because I didnt try any food, so I cant judge them on it. Food is an important part of a coffee shop; I couldnt give a fair one-star review without trying any. Many other reviews called the staff unfriendly, but I think theyre doing their best. There just werent enough of them to deliver coffee at a reasonable pace. I waited twenty minutes for my drink. Theres a small sign saying the management supports queer employees, which was nice to see. There are so many better options. I recommend Blue Bottle Coffee, about a three minutes walk away. If you dont have three minutes, Tatte or Starbucks are both less than a block away.
First off, this is the best coffee in the square by far. Second, the sandwiches are dank and less expensive than most places. Third, everyone’s crazy nice and remembers ur name. I love this spot!
Coffee is really good and cheap if i compare it with other coffee houses in harvard square
Very good coffee. Incredibly mediocre croissants and pastries.
It’s like Starbucks only not as good. Drinks are the same, food is stale. At least the view of Harvard Square is nice.
Great for a quick coffee to go or tea. Staff is friendly and fast.
Great coffee and almond croissant! It’s also slightly cheaper than most other coffee shops around.
Apparently their Spanish Cortodo is not spanish at all. But the place is nice, service was good, people are great.
I ordered the TBLT. It was not the best. The spicy mayo was not very spicy and there was not a great deal. The bread was sort of toasted white, like when you put bread in a toaster and it comes out whiter than it went in and seems slightly more dried out/stale. The turkey and bacon was ok, not any real taste. Not the tasty sandwich I was looking for....In Harvard there are a lot of good places to eat and this place is, for sandwiches, not one of them, sorry.Staff were super nice, and the sandwich was made super quick.
Coffee is decent, pastries are underwhelming, but the lox is fantastic.
Waited 20 minutes for a sandwich. Apparently was delayed due to an egg disaster which was wasnt communicated until several people asked about their orders. Coffee wasnt good; sandwich was cold. Maybe dont send half your staff on break during the morning rush at 9am?
I ordered a plain bagel toasted with butter on the side. I was given an everything bagel toasted with butter on top. I reordered and got the plain bagel with butter on the side but it wasnt toasted, it was barely warmed. This was not a good first impression.
Grabbed a coffee just now, but saw lots of tiny flies flying around all the baked goods, landing on them, decided against a cookie, oh and the baked goods case is not enclosed
Not a lot of love in how they run the place. I got a surprise rodent visiting while sitting inside.
Coffee aroma 👌, out-door & in-door,
Awesome espresso and brownies
