Not immigrant friendly.I am a 27 years old immigrant to this country. The only documents I have here are the government issued New York Id and my visa. On a rainy day, I went there to buy some wine but they refused to sell because I wasnt carrying my passport -- of course, I always carry the most important document I have when I go buy wine, especially in the occasion of a storm. When a friend (28yo) tried to purchase they also refused because the person saw him talking to me.Impressive the amount of red tape we face and the treatment we get.
Has more or less the bare essentials, with a few important products missing. One of the more expensive liquor stores in the neighborhood. The owner is unhelpful, too; and in some cases they have been rude to people I know in town. Plenty of options elsewhere.
I just went one time here and heres the deal guys.I bought CORONA BEER 18 pk all the time @ 23.99 includes everything from other place, I was next to these guys for food and I was like let’s go here and buy from here only.I asked for 18 pk they don’t have it, it’s fineNext thing I asked price for 12pk which they have it and it is $21.99 plus deposits around $23Now you can see the difference in price and the reason I went out quickly without wasting time inside18 pk corona other location- $24This location 12 pk - $23Come $1 extra for 6 cans of beersOhh my goodness I am out of this location 🦖
Super friendly. Great tequila selection
Great place to get almost anything you need, theyll even order something special of you ask. Not the largest of places but they have plenty of inventory, so I wont knock them on that. Ive always been able to find what I need, and when Im feeling adventurous they always have some weird alcohol available that Id like. Friendly staff, beer and wine tastings every so often, prob a good idea to call them.
The tall white cashier is extremely rude to customers.
Great selection, kind and helpful staff. I highly recommend!
This is more than your local wine and spirt store! They have a very large selection of craft beers, from sours to IPA’s (always check out the board above the coolers) as well as your wines and liquors. On most weekends there is some sort of tasting going on so you can try new things before you buy them in the store. Their staff is what really makes this store, from their recommendations on wines to their friendly personalities, you always feel welcome here.
I doubt that this store has trained their employees how to talk with customers
This is a very friendly and helpful business. They have a great selection of ciders and they are dog-friendly, which is great for me and my greyhound!
This spirits store has a great selection, even for foreign drinks. I have an interest in sakes, and I was able to find a delicious strawberry nigori there that Ive never seen before.
Very large selections of spirits and wines
Had the pleasure of shopping at Porter Square Wine and Spirits, they exceeded my expectations with their great selection of beer, wine and spirits along with top notch service. Everyone is friendly and Covid responsible, hands down one of the best in town.
Pricey, but great selection of whiskeys, gin and vodka, craft beers, international wines. Knowledgeable staff and frequent tastings - at least pre- and presumably post pandemic!
Employee is very rude
Small local liquor store with a good selection of beer, wine, and hard alcohol. They have helpful staff and are conveniently located in Porter Square shopping Plaza right near the Porter Square red line subway stop. As I always mention in my reviews when relevant, going here supports a small, local, independently owned business.
Went in hoping that they mightttt have a specialty Dewars and while they didnt, they were intrigued and placed an order with their supplier.
Great wine selection
VERY helpful staff here - really well-versed in their products. PSW&S has, by FAR, the largest selection of rums of any liquor store Ive been to in the Boston/Cambridge area. This is a MUST go-to place if you have any Tiki-style drinks that need making. I highly recommend chatting with their knowledgeable staff on their rum and amaro selection, its really hard to find anyplace with the quality and variety of products these guys have. Im really happy they have what they do all in one place, and its very organized as well.
Interesting selection of liquers and wine that havent seen in other places. Friendly staff, some more knowledgeable than others. Prices are just okay, but was expecting worse for Porter sq.
This shop has a new manager and the place is vastly improved. The selection is amazing. Youll find things here that you cant find anywhere else. The staff is very knowledgable and super friendly. The store does tastings all the time. My go to place.
Interesting shop, well maintained with a warm vibe. Good selection considering their space which is very limited. Staff are low key and friendly.
They were polite and helpful and showed add-ons to my purchase that I really enjoyed
Always friendly and helpful with recommendations whether youre looking for an introductory taste or specific flavors. Great selection of mead.
Extremely comprehensive collection and knowledgeable staff, will definitely be my go-to liquor store in Cambridge.
Great selection for beer. They are always getting new and good stuff in. Pretty good wine selection too, though I find the wine itself is hit or miss, meaning some wine end up being turned so I suspect the wine is not sure properly perhaps.
Liquor store with a lot of selection. Staff is very helpful and pleasant. Sometimes there are other brands doing tastings for new products.
Great selection, knowledgeable staff.
This is not a discount liquor store, but the prices are still reasonable. What sets Liquor World apart is the selection. They pack a ton of stuff into a small space, but, most importantly, their selection is very well curated. If you want a hard to find bottle of whiskey, mezcal, amaro, absinthe... whatever, this is the place to come. The staff is also knowledgeable and helpful, and they often have great music playing.
Great selection of craft spirits, beer, and wine from around the world. The staff is incredibly friendly and always offers their help and expertise.
Good selection for size of store. Prices expected for area. Friendly & mostly knowledgeable staff.
A little pricy and the parking is atrocious but they have a first rate assortment.
Great selection and reasonable prices. The owner is quite knowledgeable about Italian wines.
Staff is super friendly and helpful. Good selection of sake.
Great selection, good people!
The best prices and one of the best selections of smaller liquor stores in Cambridge and Somerville. The staff is fantastic and Ive loved every one of their suggestions if I cant find the thing I came in for.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Fantastic gin selection with great local options.
Not a huge beer selection, but friendly enough staff and reasonable prices. Convenient place to stop when needing liquor in the Porter Square area and not wanting to fight for street parking.
No minors allowed to shop inside the store. ID required to purchase alcoholic drinks. No public restrooms.
This place have a really good collection of wine within affordable budget.
Great liquor store for craft beer and liquor in an excellent location in Cambridge, right next to the Porter Square T stop. The quality and selection of both beer and liquor(Ive never looked for wine there) is impressive for the smallish space. For example, they have an excellent selection of Lost Abbey beers, which are relatively hard to find in the Boston area. Additionally, when Ive been looking for nicer scotches and bourbons, theyve had Highland Park 18, Aberlour Abundh, Angels Envy Bourbon, and other good choices at prices that are sometimes better than the NH liquor store.Additionally, their service has always been very helpful and nice. And of course the location is really convenient for those who dont have a car or happen to be getting on the T in Porter.
Dont let the generic name Liquor World fool you, this little shop packs a lot of local craft beers into its limited shelves and fridge space. It also carries a huge selection of wine and liquors on its packed shelves. After work it can be a mad house, the narrow aisles make it hard to stand around browsing when a line curves around the corner. However, I have to applaud the staff for keeping the line moving swiftly and for keeping their small shop stocked with all matter of libations and liqueurs. Plus, they have quite a hearty selection of artisanal beers, belgian beers, canned craft beer in the back — which is nice if youre hopping on or off the T as its right up the street.
Pricey but close to home.
Decent selection, you wont find everything though, especially when it comes to beer. Staff is helpful though and willing to chat a bit if you have questions.
The selection is good, but the staff and prices leave a lot to be desired.
I goto school in the area. Firstly, A+ music choices with the a range from indie rock to foreign folk music. The staff is friendly and helpful; when asking for recommendations if one employee doesnt have the knowledge to help you they go out of their way to redirect you to an employee who does or do a quick lookup on their phone or computer to fill in the blanks. The only negative interactions Ive had at the store is when I asked to speak to the wine buyer and had to wait twenty minutes, before I finally gave up waiting and left after making my purchase. On another visit while being rung out I overheard a wine rep asking the cashier to see the wine buyer and very obviously being agitated that she wasnt around (again?). Its nice to know she doesnt just ignore customers.Great variety in every section--sometimes a little overwhelming though lolEdit: Carol, I appreciate the offer to speak in person, but it isnt necessary. These are the circumstances that lead to my review: I asked to speak with you and was told you were in the office, the cashier paged you and said a customer would like to speak to you. Twenty minutes later you were still in the office and I left, luckily the cashier ended up able to answer some of my questions. I understand its impossible for anyone to be at the store 24/7, but you were at the store. Ive come into the store since and waited in, an albeit short, line with one cashier, while you were preoccupied at a computer. Everyone else has put prior tasks on hold to offer help. I wont be introducing myself during future visits; Im happy with the service I receive from other employees and management that make themselves available. Thank you and have a good day.
Lot of selection and very convenient, but was not for me - difficult to find a good bottle of wine that I liked.
Great team and positive atmosphere ! Plethora of craft beers to choose from!!
The selection is very good, but the prices are high even for the area
Friendly, friendly is all I have to say.
Convenient location and great craft beer selection for the relatively small space.
Nice store, but fairly small and has a very limited selection
Decent beer selection. A bit small and busy gets crowed often
Nice staff, good selection of alcohol.
I didnt go there.
Every day is liquor day at liquor world. Great staff, knowledgeable and friendly.
Usual stock of almost all varieties of liquors, wines etc..The range included goods from all over the world, almost all levels of needs, including very good quality ones, expensive ones etc..
A bit pricey, ok selection, smells like the morning after a party, but convenient location.
One the worse Liquor stores Ive ever seen. They almost overcharge costumers on everything and some of the staffs are rude!
Have an okay selection. More beer n trade wine
Nice place.
Pretty good, local place
Great selection.
The worest liquor. Cant image that.
They have good liquor
Great staff!
Friendly but over priced
Booze.
In the area, I think it is a class of liquor stores with a good assortment. There is also a feeling of cleanliness in the shop. Although there is some, Japanese sake such as sake is left.
Good prices and variety
