I got major service done on my car by Garage one Subaru workshop. They had my car done in a timely Manor which I appreciate. They are good honest people not trying to bleed you dry of every penny like the dealerships. This was not my first time coming to them in need of service and it will definitely not be my last. I highly recommend you take your cars here. Best service in the South Bay.
I wanted to bring my 2010 Subaru Outback sport here to have it looked over for some handling issues. For some reason the man on the phone kept explaining what it could be and correcting me in a condescending way. Never actually answering my question if I could bring it in today or not. After about 2 minutes of his monologue I finally had to hung up, couldn’t get a word in. Disappointing when mechanics act this way…
These guys are absolutely amazing to work with. I love how organized there system is set up. Work is always perfect. Very detailed write ups and explanations. Prices are fair. Ill keep coming back for as long as I can. Aaron is very knowledgeable and helpful. Over all this is a great place to have a Subaru serviced. Sure beats the dealerships. I only dream of working for an establishment as well put together as this one. They always take the time to thoroughly inspect before just throwing parts and money at the car.Took my car in for what I believed to be a wheel barring noise only to find out it was the disc rubbing on the dust shield. They could have easily just slapped a new hub on and said problem solved and got a quick buck out of me, but they just realigned the dust shield and charged for the to spent. Honesty goes a long ways in my book. These guys are the best! Just bring them your car so you can get back on the road safely and with confidence. You seriously wont regret it.
I have had nothing but good experiences with Garage One!! I have had alot of work done there and I feel that they are honest very knowledgeable. I love my subaru and I wouldnt take it anywhere else. They did a full engine build for me. And swap entire sub frame tyranny and engine on my 2005 wrx wagon. I would highly recommend them to any subaru owner. I feel I have gotten early pennies worth from them. Two thumbs up!!!!!
Aaron the owner and his tech team are the best; they are subaru enthusiasts and know all the issues and fixes for all the models over the years. Their prices are fair.
Excellent customer service and very good job I love it.
Competent mechanics who treat you and your vehicle with respect. Installed aftermarket exhaust and its running great
Best specialty subaru shop. The always take care of my subaru and go the extra mile to make me a satisfied customer. Great office staff superb mechanics.
Over $10k to change an oem engine block. Absolutely overpriced, terrible business practices. Not even replacing the long block just the short block.
Contacted the shop with some questions about my rack and pinion. Aaron was prompt with all the answers to all my questions. Scheduled the part replacement and got it fixed. I cant speak highly enough on the professionalism of the shop. They also use an awesome web portal to keep you up to date on everything on your vehicle, I hadnt seen anything like this. My car feels brand new! Highly recommended!
Very professional and great friendly people. Spoke with Aaron about installing an OEM hitch for my new Subaru Outback 2020. It is a job very well done. Aaron has an eye for perfection and I saw it in action on the day of the install. They charged me for labor as I supplied the part and were very honest people. I guess now I know where I am going for my 6-month interval service too.
These guys are incredible. It doesnt matter what I bring my car in for (and its quite often that I do), Aaron and his team are always super professional and great to do business with. Would recommend them to anyone in a Subaru that wants to make sure its taken good care of.
Very kind people, car was finished exactly when they originally promised, my inspection was super thorough. The only issue, I was told my rear brake and side lighst were all out but when I checked them at home they were fine. But not a huge deal, overall a good experience.
I picked Garage 1 because the previous repair shop couldnt figure out the problem even though they were the one that replaced my engine 1 1/2 ago. Garage 1 figured out that my engine had been re played with a different engine that had a different manifold and wiring causing smog to not pass.I just received my tags today and it is now legal.Thank you Aaron and gang.
I have taken my Crosstrek to Garage One a few times now, always for routine appointments. The team is professional, timely, and answers all questions very well! I am so happy to have found a great Subaru workshop in the area!
My husband and I take our cars here for service. The people are wonderful and caring. They really make sure the car is in better condition than when you leave it. Even if they cant find the issue you tell them! Their office is also family friendly, with lots of toys for different ages.
Ive taken my Subaru here for years and theyve always done a great job. First, the repairs and recommendations are always what I feel they do for their own cars and families. Second, trust, this is a company and repair shop I trust. They do an great job and my car runs great.
This place is an excellent business. After bringing my car to the dealer for a service and being provided with a ludicrous litany of things they wanted to do to my Crosstrek - some of which were clearly inaccurate, I looked elsewhere and found Garage 1.I am interested in dealing with people who are honest, passionate about what they do, and understand the importance of customer service. Garage 1 fits that bill perfectly. While they verified some of the problems the dealer had identified, they also confirmed my suspicion about them more throwing stuff in there that was not needed. The prices for the work was also cheaper than the dealership - and perhaps most importantly they identified other issues, which they told me needed to be addressed soon, but they did not try to pressure me into doing it immediately, which I thought was really honest of them. When I came back, one of the mechanics even hopped in the car with me to drive around a bit, because they remembered I had mentioned a weird sort of sound/feeling that they could not replicate, and they wanted to be sure it was addressed by the work. It was! The car is running like new.Overall pleasant experience, which is very important with stuff that costs a lot. I will be back soon to do the repairs that remain.
Aaron’s customer service was excellent, and the work performed was professional and thorough. My car needed a lot of work and they took care of everything. I will be bringing my other Subaru here when needed, so if you are looking for a Subaru only garage, look no further, this is it!
Recent installed performance parts in my carand they were pretty good at it. Would recommend the garage and bring it to the for routine maintenance
If your subie is sick and needs to get better, bring it here, even if it has an international passport. My Japanese imported Sambar (yeah the mini guy with power) needed help. They were able to make sure he was fixed and good to go.They have the ability to let you know what is wrong, send notes and approve work all electronically. Who else has that? NOBODY! Now my Subie skips down the American streets just like he did in Japan.
Ive been bringing my STI to Garage One for many years, theyve done great custom work on it as well as regular old maintenance.
This is a reliable and quality garage. Everyone there has been professional, courteous, efficient, and friendly. I highly recommend GarageoOne.
Got great service, from knowledgeable people. Showed me what was wrong, what would need to be fixxed soon and what had to be fixed promptly. Will definitely be back.
Needed a new clutch assembly on my BRZ. Garage One was able to do it one day, charged me less than half of what the dealer and other shops had quoted, and were able to install some aftermarket bushings/springs in the process. They were very helpful and responsive throughout the process! Easily the best Subaru shop in the Bay Area!
I have been taking our cars here and the work they do is top notch.
Aaron and his crew know their craft and are dedicated, so far as I can tell, to leaving you with a pristine running machine.
Very knowledgeable folks and took care of a huge amount of work on my 2004 STI with precision and efficiency!
Garage One somehow makes it a pleasure to take my car in for service-friendly staff, knowledgeable mechanics-I always feel very comfortable working with them. The follow ups are great too, very satisfied client!
Soraya made our experience exceptional. She was extremely friendly, prompt and understanding. We had to cancel four times due to varies reason and every time she was happy to reschedule. My wife ended up dropping off the car. Folks at Garage One made her feel welcomed and did not pressure her to buy additional services. One thing to keep in mind, Garage One does not have a waiting area, nor do they have a bathroom. Instead, we received a complimentary rental car for the day! Im not sure if this is their standard service, but a pleasant surprise. My wife got extra rental car insurance, which we expected to pay out of pocket, but Garage One ended up sending us a refund on the insurance. Talk about customer service!Ill be taking my Subura back to Garage One for additional services. I strongly recommend them!
Giving 2 star because nothing was done badly, just not up to par. I was excited at first to find a focused Subaru shop and had high hopes on a more affordable shop over the dealer. Had a AC not turning on, they were nice on the phone and looked at it by the next day and called but they didnt know what it was. 3 days without car I took it back and took a closer look my self only to find out the AC clutch failed. So its very sad that this shop could not diagnose this.
They replaced head gaskets on my 04 Forester almost a year ago and the car has been running great. Another shop suggested I get rid of the car, but Im glad I had it fixed. The work was done on time and Agnes answered all my questions and concerns.
Let me first say this has been one of the BEST experiences for getting my Porsche worked on.My Cayman S was obliterated in a sandstorm and needed a new windshield, headlights, entirely new paint job and ceramic coating.
Im not a car guy so at first I was a little intimidated to take my car to a specialty shop like this. But I let the good Yelp reviews convince me, and Im glad I did. After experiencing a couple of bad repairs at other places, the confidence I get from Garage 1 Auto is welcome. Theyre competent, friendly, and professional.
Ive been a customer of Garage 1 Auto for several years now. I am very surprised to find three negative reviews below. My experience is absolutely the opposite. Agnes and Aaron are both very professional and it reflects down to all their staff. This is the cleanest car shop, Ive ever seen. While I am not going to try to dispute the highly negative statements, I do suspect they come from the same person given their tone and time of publication (all within a week). So, I would not pay too much attention.I just had my regular service at G1A and as always it was on time and on budget. I received a follow up call (as always) as well as electronic copy of a receipt.I strongly encourage you to ignore negative reviews below.
The b3st shop for my old Subaru Impreza, cordial, accurate, good service, know what they doing, reasonable fees. etc
If you own a Subaru out of warranty in the south bay area, this is your place. They provide a good system to follow that tracks with the manufacturers recommendations. Only for subarus but they can solve just about anything for that manufacturer.
It used to be a great Subaru specialist that has gone downhill in service. They are now only open 4 days a week, with random and confusing Monday and Fridays off. I was told that my car was ready 3 hours before they close on a Thursday for the whole weekend. The options given for pickup before Monday were ones that would risk having the car stolen from their lot. I have brought my 2003 Subaru to them since the factory warranty expiration, but this lack of respect for their customers time is pushing me to look for alternatives.
One of those few shops that we have confidence in their ability and honesty. They do great work on our Subarus
They did a wonderful job. My car is running better than ever!
If google review would allow a negative score, I would give one. This place does not respect customers time at all! They speak nicely over the phone, once you come down to their site, they start playing tricks on you and deny what they said over the phone. I can see why they got such bad reviews from others.
I dont write reviews often mostly because Im a software engineer and the last thing I want to do is type at the end of the day. After a follow-up call and even a post card I felt I needed to share my superb customer experience with Garage One. I came in to drop off my Subaru on a Wednesday morning just before work. The very next day I received a detailed report with images explaining all the details of whats going on with my Subaru. Previously, a mechanic both auto and at Boeing on the 777 line. I knew exactly what they were talking about. The staff was very friendly and professional at the same time. Sitting in meetings all day I can get a general sense of when they mean business and the staff here takes your business seriously. If changing the head gaskets didnt cost half of my current kbb value; needless to say I would 100% do business with them again. I will be moving on from my 2007 base model Impreza and into a brand new STI.Thanks again for all your services! All the best,Preston Phan
Honest work, knowledgeable staff & mechanics, and a nice waiting area make this a no-brainer for Subaru owners.
Do not go to Garage One Subaru!!!! Read below for my experience:I spent over $7000 to replace my 2005 Subaru Outback XT engine. Seems kinda pricey, but I was desperate for my car to be fixed. When I finally got my car, Aaron (the head mechanic and owner) handed me the keys and said that the engine shortblock was complete. He also mentioned that the engine still vibrates quite a bit and they would need to do some more diagnostics to figure out that issue. They recommended changing the fuel filter, fuel pump, O2 sensor, MAF, checking for any vacuum leaks, etc... I spent over $1500 in parts and replaced each of those parts and the engine still vibrated quite a bit. Not only that, but also when I was on a road trip to Utah, my gas mileage on the highway was 18mpg and would stall every now and again.I went to another mechanic (my trusted mechanic) and he did all of the tests and couldnt find anything. He recommended doing a compression test on each of the spark plug ports, but I denied saying no no, its a brand new engine, and I bet Garage One already did that when they finished My trusted mechanic had me check with Garage One and they confirmed his suspicion. Garage One NEVER checked the compression after they rebuilt and put everything together!!!! My mechanic performed a compression test and cylinder 2 had bad compression.I immediately took my vehicle to Garage One and they performed a compression test and discovered the same thing my mechanic found. They took the engine apart again and found that cylinder 2 had a cracked head and replaced it. My car ran amazingly after that! No vibration, no sputtering, no bad gas mileage, etc... except one thing... The engine area started smelling like burnt oil. During a routine oil change, jiffylube told me oil was seeping through the engine gaskets on the back side of the engine. Garage One did not tighten the bolts tight enough!!!!I went back a 3rd time and had them put everything back together properly.I honestly do not recommend Garage One. They are nice people, but in my experience they do not do a thorough job the first time. What I dislike the most about my experience was that they tried to charge me right after they fixed my engine when it was their fault in the first place.Things I did not like:1. They should have caught the busted head while replacing the shortblock the first time.2. I came back 2 more times to have them fix their mistakes.3. I followed their recommendation and spent $1500 on parts that were not needed at all.4. Their office people give blanket answers to your questions and you are not allowed to speak to their mechanics about their diagnosis. That frustrated the heck out of me.5. Expensive expensive expensive!!!! Buy the parts yourself and you will save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on their huge markups.
I had my replace everything service done at this shop and was very impressed with the quality work done. I highly recommend them...
Great job, good prices. Wish I would stop breaking my car in stupid ways.
7+ years having a 2009 Subaru Forester serviced/repaired at Garage One. Wouldnt go elsewhere despite the extra 30+ minutes to reach Campbell after Mountain View location closed out.
Good service. Provide Uber for customer.
Friendly, thorough, honest, skilled. Ill be back.
People think you dont know about the car you have and get upset quite easily for asking technical questions
Professional, friendly, fast
