I had a crate being delivered and Canby Builders Supply was kind enough to let me ship it to their Canby location as I dont own a forklift. This was very helpful as I live not far away. I was willing to pay but the manager told me that he just wanted to help me out as I was a member of the Canby Community. Made my day and if that is the customer service I got I would recommend them highly. This staff really wants to help you and will go that extra mile that bigger chains just dont seem to be able to offer these days.

I have done business with Canby builders supply for years, trying to keep it local. I purchased some Varathane from them, when I opened the can it was solidified!!! It has been in my home in my little tool room. It is in the middle of my house and is temperature controlled at all times, and the can has never been opened and the seal looked good. They would not exchange it and the young man I spoke with was quite short with me. He said they only take returns within 90 days, so if buy something at our family owned business make sure to use your paint or varnishes within 90 days. I also paid much more than I would have at the big box stores and Im sure they would have taken care of this to keep my business. I am so disappointed in the service of my small town family owned business .I will not shop their again.

They always have what I need and they give me a military discount its a win-win I do not go to the big box stores without going here first.

Most of the staff are rude. No one acknowledge you as you walk in the store. One staff membered completely ignored me when I asked for help with the vinyl tubing. Definitely will not be going back.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service! Never have I seen such indifference and outright rudeness. I have lived in Canby 5 years and have gone here several times to save trip to Home Depot. Without fail, every single time Ive left absolutely stunned at the incredibly poor customer service. And every single time Ive left without item(s) I came for, all because someone couldnt take the time to assist me. This last time all I wanted was to look at selection of wooden fence posts. I swear to god, I was told twice, it depends on what you want...for christ sakes, thats why I want to look at them! Just one example, always the same though, unless you are a contractor, they couldnt care less about you as a customer. Save yourself a horrible experience and drive the extra miles to Home Depot or Ace Hardware, theyre actually willing to help.

Nice place to get hardware in town without having to drive 🚗 15 miles. The employees are friendly and very helpful.

There was a day customers were valued, service was good, and crew were friendly. Sadly that seems to have changed. Now demands upon my person, control of my face supersedes customer service and satisfaction. I found the crew hostile tho I was outside. I bought some small sheetrock. I enquired about spray texture but was wrung up with no attempt to fill the additional items that would be ten times the sale. I just noted this is a dramatic shift away to the friendly service I have known for about 30 years. While I appreciate the position the businesses are in with unconstitutional orders and OSHA over reach I retain my rights to my person. That will not be exchanged for a opportunity to purchase your products. No. I will simply move my purchases to a company that values me as a customer and desires my business. You might consider the big box curbside option. I have no intention to enter your quarantined store exchanging control of my face and evidently you would rather I take my money elsewhere. As a paying customer the shift is real.

The company I work for has been using Canby builders for years, weve always had a good experience. They do a great job of having the right materials on hand, and can order almost anything we need if they dont stock it. Their prices are very competitive, for example I bought a less common bit for an angle grinder for about 1/3 the price of the big orange store. Love the people, too. Their yard staff is knowledgeable and energetic, and our salesman bends over backward to rush things when were on a tight schedule.

The building atmosphere was nice. That’s the only positive thing I have to say about this place. I was ignored for quite some time, then was spoken to in a very condescending manner when they found that I was looking for a particular item that they DIDNT CARRY!! Another customer was kind enough to direct me to a store where I might be able to find said item. Their attitude and poor customer service should not be tolerated and was completely unsatisfactory at beast.

Lumber quality was TERRIBLE! I should have chopped down my own damn tree for decent lumber. Over half the boards were cracked and broken. I bought some 4 x4s they loaded in my truck. I stopped them to tell them I wanted new lumber because the stuff they loaded was covered in thick black mold. They told me to scrub it with bleach and sand it if I didnt like it. They walked away without letting me respond. All this happened after I had to go inside to get someone to help me in the warehouse because everyone that worked there was ignoring me when I tried to get help. The girl at the desk didnt know what lumber was in stock. When I tried to order she said they didnt carry that length. In the warehouse, that length was sitting right in front of me. I cant emphasize enough the poor quality, rude warehouse staff, and expensive products. They will never get any of my business again. Since I do carpentry, they just made a BIG mistake. GO ANY PLACE ELSE.

If your contractor is purchasing materials to work on your property, be sure to ask for a Lien Waiver from Canby Builders Supply. I found out the hard way, my contractor did not pay the up front money to secure the materials and after the job was completed I received a Notice Of Right To A Lien from Rohillco Business Solutions contracted by Canby Builders Supply. The document stated a lien may be claimed for all materials, labor, and other services after a date of eight days (not including Saturdays and Sundays and other holidays. Even if your mortgage lender has made full payment to the contractor who ordered the materials or services, your property may still be subject to a lien unless the supplier providing this notice is paid...…So, if you pay your contractor and he / she decides not to pay the supplier which in this case is Canby Builders Supply then you are liable and you will have to pay again or a lien will be placed on your property. Then you have to go after the contractor to get your money you originally paid the for securing the materials and or other service.This is call Fair Business Practices in the state of Oregon.
