I get some of the best products at Safeway. The other major store in the area keeps dropping products & doesnt care. When I say Im going to Safeway they pretty much say, go ahead. So, I do! Thanks Safeway.

So sad.. i’ve been shopping at safeway since i was a kid because that’s been my family go to. i decided to utilize canby’s drive up and go as i’m 7m pregnant and walking around the store is difficult now. i ordered 20 items, received 19 because they didn’t have any eggnog in stock even tho i placed my order the night before in hopes they’d pick it early enough, oh well.. (one of the 19 items was a case of water) and when i arrived to pick up my groceries i waited about 6 minutes, no big deal. the problem is that 18 not small items (the smallest item was probably the box of mac n cheese) were shoved into two bags… even the eggs and bread, but not even everything was bagged some items were just thrown into the car. i called the store because the packaging for the eggs was falling apart from being rubberbanded and shoved into a bag, my bread was crushed and all the produce that was squished into the bottom of the bags was crushed and bruised… i was met with “you got your items tho?” said with a rude attitude i would have been embarrassed to give anyone. i ended up having to file a complaint through the app to get any resolution. i will likely never shop here again, fred meyers it is!

I went to the Safeway at 3:30 on Wednesday and the deli and everything was closed I cant believe the manager would allow something like that Im contact CEO of albertsons and Safeway

They finally have self checkout. i thought i would try them again as i have had a bad experience with a checker in the past. NO BAGS! You have to ask for bags and the lady begrudgingly brought one. It was easy to see I would need more than one. she remarked well you have to PAY for them. yes honey I have a dime. No mas. I will stick with Freddies. Keep your second rate service Safeway.

Shelves are stocked a lot better than Molalla Safeway. go to Thriftway for a better hometown shopping experience.

Pretty Good. I sure wish they wouldnt let the devil govern them but I dont go very often anyways plus Canby Safeway is way better calmer and you can take your time! 🕊

The employees are always professional and helpful. The only complaint is the hot food. This is the second time I have given them a chance and again discusting. Teriyaki chicken is mostly mushrooms and mushy peppers and onions and in no way taste like teriyaki anything. The beef and broccoli also taste terrible flavorless slimy. The noodles are dry and the fried rice is dried up and hard. Never again this was so bad we couldnt even eat tonight both of us sick to our stomachs. Have a weird chemical taste in our mouth.

Their advertised deals are not always stocked and you really have to stay aware at the register that the advertised price is charged.

This Safeway is Always understaffed and they will hardly ever Call threes a crowd because the cashier will purposefully not look up and to the line and therefor will not have to call threes a crowd. They will do this even if there are several people in line all with full carts. And to exacerbate the situation their cashiers, Although Friendly, are extremely slow.The Deli is even worse because they actually have people their doing work but it takes them like over 5 minutes for them to actually get over to help you.

This is a good grocery store that does not pretend to be an all inclusive Fred Meyer down the road. Yet, I prefer this Safeway because they offer a Very Good Meat Department. This is my go to grocery store in Canby, OR!

I simply cannot understand why Safeway does everything possible to make the shopping experience at their stores so unwelcoming. There’s no reason anyone should have to wait over 10 minutes consistently to get checked out at a grocery store.

Needs self checkout. 4 lanes open and all cashiers have the knowledge of a trainee and the speed of a retiree. Great place for the homeless to congregate too.

Wanted to try Safeway today for my weekly shopping as a change, I found 2 items that I have not been able to find at another stores in town and I was asked by a very nice assistant general manager if I was finding everything, which I was happy to report back yes I was! He was at the register again and was so nice to chat with while he was ringing yet quick and efficient plus when I mentioned I couldn’t find my coupon he gladly applied the discount. I will definitely go back for more shopping!

Only one checker took for ever to get through line. Usual best safeway I drive from Molalla to shop in the Canby store

A little disappointed that they had no regular iceberg lettuce and the organic didnt look good. Otherwise, Deli people were nice and cashier was nice.

Awesome grocery store

Store associates were very helpful and welcoming. Its nice to go into a store and be treated not only respectfully as a customer but also feel welcome as a friend. Safeway has always been a little on the pricey side but is worth the little extra for the service and quality product you receive at this location.

Closest supermarket around to shop for groceries. Huge variety of items. Large parking lot. Clean. Fresh produce. You can also buy flower arrangements & balloons.

Not too busy, clean and they take extra care due to COVID and it shows. Nice employees!

Dude behind the deli counter was not able to help me. Talked to the manager and was able to communicate in West coast English. Got a coupon for a free chicken because they were out. So I forgive all.

Its always clean, workers are friendly. There are a couple of employees that really go out of their way to take care of you. Prices and sales are pretty great. Chris is the best and has always been so kind and helpful.

The deli food and department is in serious need of some help. Friendly service but the products were terrible or not in stock.

Gotta say some of the best meat I have ever gotten at rock bottom prices. Use their app to find great bargains. The people are so friendly. Love this place. Dont misd out on $5 Friday specials. Their bakery department is fabulous.

The stores kept clean . The meat selection is only an ok scale for me. The packaging on those meats especially the chicken could be alot better.The downside is there is no phone reception thru out, in front to almost outside there is.

Clean and well-organized, typical prices and friendly staff. However, the lines are often long and theres no self-checkout. They dont often open more than 3 check-out lanes even during peak business hours, which can be really frustrating when you have impatient young children with you. On the plus side, they have the best kind of kid-friendly carts IMO: the kind where kids sit right in front of whoevers pushing the cart but the cart itself isnt any longer overall than a standard cart. Much better than the unwieldy oversized kid carts at Target, for example.

This Safeway is amazing! I had a flawless experience with their bakery. Product and customer service is top notch! Highly recommend!

The best Safeway around!

I feel bad giving three stars, but unfortunately, the Safeway here is eclipsed by Fred Meyer and Thriftway. You just cant get the variety of products you get at FM, nor the quality of products you get at Thriftway. Its never busy, though, and if youre already on that side of town, no harm in stopping there.

Rarely has enough checkers to take care of lines. Produce department is limited but has variety and good produce.

Alot of people out of alot of items due to people stocking up where other people have to suffer due to their greed.

Bakery is very good, and hot deli has greatly improved over the years. But meat department is not good. And check out is a nightmare. Always short on checkers and they are slow. Day or night. But there are those few who try hard to compensate. Poor management

Why is this wretched store even open for business. Items on sale never ring up that way and the untalented staff cannot figure out how to take off a full price item. I paid $27 for 4 bags of chips and 4 candies. The advertise price is $1.99 if you buy 3 chips and 69 cents for the candy. Happens every time and every time I swear I wont go back. F* welcome to Canby.

Friendly, fast service

Very disappointed with my experience today in the Canby store. My digital coupon for 15 oz Bushs black beans 5 for $4 normal 5 for $5 didnt work and the cashier said sorry, service guy goes to shelf to say its say $4 a can. Which if course isnt correct doesnt give me the buck back not even a sorry. Wished I would have given back 2 cans. And to top it off I got home to discover I was charged for avacodos not limes. Wont be shopping there again anytime soon ☹️

Clean store, friendly personal

Usually good, But Western Union wasnt available because safeway had no employee to operate the system.And it was emergency money for my daughter and 4 year old granddaughter in canada.

Its just what youd expect from Safeway. The store was clean and the staff was friendly.

This was not the best Safeway experience. The staff either ignored me or were so overly friendly as to almost be creepy! Worst of all, this particular store does not have a section for gluten free like other Safeways! Instead you have to hunt and search to see if they even had a particular product which they most often didnt! I found 1 out of 5 things on my list. It was truly disappointing.

Asiatic person behind the deli counter seems a bit grumpy today. Every one else seems to be in a good mood though...

Went in for a roast chicken and they were all so overdone they nearly looked like theyd been cooked in a house fire.The checker was a bit of a loon, yammering about his guns and that ty hey were so extreme that Texas wouldnt allow them there and the they were all military issue... I tried not to engage the guy especially when he was saying he wished he could bring them to work.Totally surreal experience.

Produce is poor quality and feels like old stock? Went for water, waffle, juice restock. Normally from Costco but better hours offered by Safeway.
