Mr. Michael was a life saver on my 2006 Honda Accord. He communicated to me during the whole process of waiting on parts to come in. He also described the whole process to me in great detail. With me being a younger customer I was very grateful to find him. He helped me save so much money and his guys were so quick with fixing everything. I brought my truck in with shifting issues on a brand new transmission, after getting them to fix a few things they had to warranty my transmission swap then it out. After the swap the abs light came on and was causing the original issue the owner has gone above and beyond trying to help me fix my issue. making 100 phone calls and emails because the part is discontinued and unavailable anywhere. definitely warrants the 5 stars for the excellent service I’ve gotten

Mike and his guys took great care of my truck. I gave him a call about my truck being stuck in 4wd with the rear wheels locked in dragging and binding, popping when accelerating through a turn,he told me to head on over and he would try to get to the bottom of it. He had a few plans and ideas in mind of what to do to resolve the situation to get me back on the road driving again. He had it figured out within 2-3 hrs I left my vehicle there, took out the rear driveshaft, and I was back on the road driving again. I thought my issues were much bigger and it was going to run a fortune. I will definitely be back for future maintenance and repairs. A great experience with this repair shop. Communication was outstanding explaining everything they were doing and costs associated. I spent $4500 to replace my transmission and they gave me faulty parts and my car broke down 3 weeks after I got it back. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a car shop. I sent my car to them in February for a transmission replacement. They took a MONTH to get back to me and were extremely difficult to get a hold of for updates. I got the car back March 10th. Then on April 2nd, my transmission blew... AGAIN. Turns out, they put faulty parts in my car. I could have been severely injured. I took my car back and they said they would fix it free of charge because they made the mistake, which was admirable, but my experience got worse. They would never answer my phone calls. They told me I could come pick up my car on a Friday while I was at work. I called back numerous times when I was free and no one answered. I called 7 times Saturday morning and no one answered. Their website said they were open until noon. So I drove all the way from Estero to Cape Coral to pick up my car, and the entire place is empty and closed by 11am. I have never had such a horrible time. They are nice people, but HORRIBLE service. I will never take my car back here again and you should not either.

Mike and the guys are beyond exceptional. I was slightly worried about my car being there for a little longer but it was all worth it for Mike was concerned about fixing it and not having me take it with any underlying issues. I usually get what needs to be fixed at that moment only for my car to return very soon. Not the case here. A great thanks to the guys here. I have a Cadillac ATS . It is a harder car to work on and it takes a specialist . You either pay expensive dealer fees or go to Modern Auto in cape coral and SAVE time and money! They have everything to work on your luxury vehicle and their communication is way better than any dealership or auto repair shop. THEY DO EVERYTHING automotive. Give them a call if you have questions. Theyll answer and help... They do not over charge or up sell like most. They give you options on parts and pricing before making repairs. You get exactly what you need and its done the right way.On two separate occasions Cadillac wanted nearly double for the same repairs. I even had an extended warranty and I still took the car here because extended warranties only cover so much and the dealer adds their additional fees..There is a reason these guys have been in business so long! Stop your search here. Modern auto in the cape is worth it. And if youre in Fort Myers its definitely worth the drive just over the bridge.

I went to Modern Auto to get a second opinion on my AC repair, originally I was quoted $3,000 for a total system replacement, which seemed ridiculous for a car that was 5 years old. When I brought my car to them they were able to look at it almost immediately and get me a quote within 1.5 hours. They told me that I needed a new condenser and 3 valves replaced. I ended up paying less than 1/3 of what I was originally quoted, and my ac was running like new in less than a week! As someone who has grown up in the auto industry and surrounded by mechanics, I appreciated that they were transparent about what the costs were and didnt give me the runaround with what needed to be done. One year later my ac is still working amazingly, which is definitely necessary in the SWFL heat and humidity :) I recommend modern auto to all my friends and family who need work done on their cars.

I was down in ft Myers for a baseball tournament and the truck starter went out two doors down from this shop the owner not only had his guy to pull the truck to his shop he fixed it and I was on my way. Our 2015 Mustang (only 25k on the clock) would not go over 40mph, and brake lights stuck on. They fixed it very quickly and did NOT charge us a dime as the part was only 38 cents. UNBELIEVABLE service & honesty at this shop. If you want a place that you can trust this is it!!!!!!!!

The gentleman that helped me was very helpful and work was done very quickly. However, the price charged to replace a $7 part was about 40% higher than expected. The time to do the job could not have been more than 4 hours maximum. So, I paid over $150 per hour .... I had no time to search for another garage and so I decided to get the job done ....

My old Ford F-150 4X4 transmission finally died. So I check around to get it replaced. I check out 2 other shops that fix and re-build transmissions. My neighbors recommend that I give Modern auto Air & Transmission a call, as he had his wife’s car fixed by them like 7 years ago and still no problems. So I ended up at Modern and I bought their 3 year warranty transmission,. You can’t transfer it to a new owner but I didn’t care, cause I’m keeping my old truck Got the warranty, because like I said; I have had this Great Ford Truck for 22 years come 2014, let’s see if I can get another 200,000 miles out of the old gal with this new transmission from Mike and his crew. We shall see. Here’s why the review. I picked my truck at the beginning of the month and it ran great but all of a sudden it started to stick between second and third. So I took it back and right away Modern fixed it. There was some kind of computer, electrical issue but because I had just bought the warranty they gave me a rental car for the day until they took care of the problem. So that the reason for the positive review. I would have given them 5 stars if the electrical computer thing had not happened but the rental sure deserves at least 4 stars.

Im not related to Michael or any of his staff at Modern Auto, but I might as well be, because thats how well I have been treated there. This is a no frills place - no fancy waiting room with coffee and cookies, no designer office furniture- just a few beat up chairs and four year old magazines. What Modern Auto does have is integrity, honesty and expertise. We have had a few vehicles repaired there and find them to diagnose correctly, price fairly and best of all perform quality work. Dont be limited by their name - air and transmission - they do it all and they do it well.

Very honest and friendly place I couldn’t be happier I chose to bring my vehicle here. I chose to take my truck down to Michael after speaking on the phone thinking a possible transmission job was in my future. As it turns out it was a shift cable issue and the repair was done quickly and just a few hundred dollars vs what they could have charged me for a transmission had they been dishonest. Highly recommended!

Had my full air conditioning system replaced 2 years ago at Modern Automotive. Found recently the system was not as cool as it should be and took it back over this morning to discuss with them. They immediately had me pull my car up, tested the system, added some dye and topped off the system with 4oz of coolant. Told me to keep an eye on it and stop back if we notice any changes in the cooling temperature. I tried to pay them and they said no problems and to have a nice day. I feel they run a fair and business that appreciates their customers.

The owner gave gave me a great price that was half the price of other shops that I tried. Took our Expedition in without an appointment for brake issues. They worked on the truck and returned it next business day. We had some concerns the day after we picked up the truck, which Michael the owner promptly addressed, when we brought it to his attention. We are completely satisfied! This was our third transaction with Modern ( one full AC repair job, one transmission repair and this brake job ) and well go back again to Modern should we need auto repair in the future.

I originally brought my vehicle to a repair shop in NFM, after two days, I found out they still havent touched my vehicle. I looked online to see if I could find another shop and I came across this one. The same day I brought it in Mike and his team took a look at my vehicle. He explained what he thought the problem was. It turned out it was going to be a more complicated job but he went above and beyond to fix the issue with my transmission without me having to get a new one altogether. The price was reasonable for the service that was performed. Now my car is running great. I would highly recommend this place for your car repairs. Mike is just so personable and really values one as a customer.

Took my older GM car in to get a few things fixed the dealer said was broken. They checked everything the dealership said was broken and told me what exactly needed to be fixed, with a good price. My cars parts arent the easiest parts to find since my car was discontinued. They found my parts and had my car back within a few days.Id definitely continue to get all my work done here since they are very quick and very fair on the pricing for repairs. They are pretty legit.Lets see how long my goat lasts.

Today was very unusual. My auto air conditioning went on the fritz weeks ago and today, i could finally shoe horn the two hour round trip into my schedule. Id called weeks ago... do i need an appointment? oh, come any time i was told.Google maps round about routing had included U turns (???). .... It was hot. ....I was cranky. I finally pulled into Modern Auto Air at 2: 30pm. Paul greeted me and pointed to a departing pickup... our air con specialist is moving today, and I let him go early. I didnt care bout his moving schedule!!Last straw. I was rude. And amazingly Paul actually cared and came up with a work around to the staffing shortfall. We hear about going beyond expectations, but this is actually the business approach i experienced from Paul at Modern Auto Air.I got what i needed, plus a real antidote for a crappy hot road trip. My friends highly recommended Modern Air to me for their quality work, but i never expected to have such a kind helpful response.Thank you Paul...from bat woman, no longer cranky.

The high points for this place based on my experience was the owner Mike being understanding and willing to work with me from the beginning . Also they were willing to waive a few minor repairs due to the circumstances I faced without my car. However a couple of not so good things did come out including them having my car for a whole month which was a major inconvenience and early on a big lack of communication which I just hope those guys improve on those aspects in the future, speed and communication. Overall Im grateful they were able to swap my faulty transmission .

Service was fast, on time and done correctly. Not only that, the price was hundreds less than my other quote. They actually called me during the process just to update me on what was going on and when I could expect the car back. It was really a top notch experience overall.

Mike and his staff were exceptionally kind to my elderly parents who went to him after having their vehicle serviced at another shop where after/during the replacement of a $750 radiator they had broken off a bolt to the a/c compressor causing the fluid to empty and the a/c system in the vehicle to stop working. Mike and his staff found the bolt and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. The cost of the repair was less than the shop that caused the problem quoted!!! CROOKS!!! Darrell (the manager I think) wanted to charge me $160 to replace an O-ring on the speedometer part of the transmission. He also wanted half down upfront because he needed to order the part and Id come back tomorrow morning. I paid the half foolishly because I didnt really understand the job and thought he was being honest. Went home to find out it was a $3 part at most and a 15 min job. Went back the next day and wanted my money back. I told him Id pay for the part and be on my way. He would not return my money. Said hed do the job for only the $80 I put down (still over priced) and itd take an hour. He wouldnt let me stand my the window and watch my car being worked on (it was in the waiting room area). Suggested I leave and grab some coffee. I over heard him mumbling to the mechanic something about an hour. Seemed the mechanic just pulled an old box o-rings from the shelf so he never had to order anything in the first place. Job was done in 15min!! $160 for a 15 min job on a $3 part??? Even the $80 was too much that I made the mistake of giving him. Only reason I didnt hold my ground or argue with him was because Darrell was probably 80 years old. Very disappointed with my experience there. Calls me a week later to ask me how I paid, cash or credit.STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!

I cant say enough good about this place. Michael you are amazing. You really went over and beyond to help us. The estimate that was given to us for a repair from another facility was 5 times more than they charged. No kidding, we were quoted $370.00 and they charged $70.00. Vehicle did not need as much as another facility claimed. I dont write reviews often, but considering we have not had good luck with service since moving to Florida last year I felt compelled to spread the word. So do yourself a favor and do not get a repair until you give Michael a chance to look at it and provide you with an estimate.

DONT GO HERE! I bought a car with a we owe to fix the a/c. They told me to go to modern auto and air, which I did. They said they were going to try and fill it with liquids and see what happened. air blew cold for 3 days. Took it back and they said I needed a compressor. It turns out that they fulfilled the we owe by making it work and wanted to charge me for the compressor. I would never take my car there ever again. I hope you wont either.

They looked at my vehicle immediately, diagnosed the problem free of charge and they had the work completed the same day. Very satisfied with the service, price and knowledgeable friendly staff.

IM really glad I gave this place a shot. My air was on the blink and thought Id drop in on them and get a price. And go home and start saving. I was there for 20 minutes and down the road I go with ice cold air! With a bill I paid out of my pocket! Honestly they could of asked for more and I would of paid. The young ladie that kept me company (Melissa) while I waited the 20 minutes was very nice. I was kinda bummed it only took 20 minutes I was kinda liking her. Terrible experience, they had my vehicle for 3 1/2 weeks, $3500 repair. 2 days after I got it home I realized it still had oil leaking,I tried several times to contact owner to get it made right,no response ! I took it back, mechanics put on lift and said they suggested getting rid of vehicle.this was a Porsche by the way.after realizing the vehicle had been traded owner offered a store credit,really,to have another problem,no thanks,terrible customer treatment,lots of honest repair shops out there,go someplace else

If you need your air conditioning checked out, they will do it for free and give you a written estimate for the work. My sister went there and had her AC checked and found out it was a compressor. I had a car that I took over there and found out mine haddock bad compressor 2

What a ripoff, got a quote from them to replace an evaporator core for my car. Said it would cost $700 for parts and labor, the shop right down the street said he would do it for $350 HALF of what these guys said they would do it for. At least their free A/C check was useful.

A great big shout out to Mike and his mechanics!!! My beloved 2000 Cadillac DeVille (affectionately known as Cruella...Cruella DeVille) suffer an overheating issue. I first took her to another Cape repair shop and was told she had a blown head gasket and wasnt worth repairing. I was devastated. After discussing the diagnosis with my husband and one of our good friends it was decided a second opinion was called for. As we went to get my car we passed by Modern. I remembered how great Mike had been when my daughter had a problem with her car. We brought the car back to his shop and called him first thing the next morning. Symptoms explained, Mike said he would take a look. Long story short...Mike saved my Cruella. She didnt have a blown head gasket at all. After new radiator, overflow tank and one sneaky little hose that put up a bit of a fight Cruella rides again. The price was more than fair, communication was great and the service unbeatable. Thanks again to Mike and his crew for going that extra mile!!!!!!

We have a 14 year old Fort Taurus and the AC stopped working. We brought the car to the garage that we normally go to and they said it needed a $200 compressor switch replacement. While $200 is not much for AC repair, it was still alot to us (hence why we drive a 14 year old car!). We brought our car to Mike at Modern Auto Air for a free diagnostic to be sure that this was all that needed to be repaired - would hate to spend the $200 and then have still have to replace other very expensive parts. Turns out, the only issue was a loose wire on the compressor (presumably from the switch - hence the diagnosis for new switch). The fix was easy. Mike didnt even charge us. After taking our vehicles to several repair shops we were told to see Mike. That is one of the best phone calls we could have made!One of the few honest car repair shops I have ever been to and highly recommend at least talking with them before taking your car in. We have saved hundreds of dollars!

I was in town visiting my parents when my AC went out. The manager was very friendly and professional. We dropped it off in the morning and had it back that evening with the air working perfectly again!

I heard a severe knocking sound in my car. I Google Modern Auto Air Repair, they saw me right away, found the problem, and offered great service. Any problems with my car again, Im coming right back to them.

Went there today to get a flush and a charge for the air in my van Michael was AMAZING he knew I was on a budget and worked with me I called around everywhere else was charging an arm and a leg but he helped me out he was funny and friendly did not try to rattle me out of money as most places would do to me being a female definitely will be going back for future repairs THANK YOU MICHAEL!!!!

Replace ac at super low price friendly service work did take a little longer than expect ed but the wait was worth it

If i could give it a zero i would. I went in to get an ac diagnostic and they told me my compressor was bad and pullinv to many amps and it just didnt sound right and to fix it theyd have to do all this crazy stuff to it. It was going to cost me $750 to fix. They also didnt even check for leaks or freon levels. But i watched them as they were messing with my ac, i saw he was playing around with my relays. So i told them id think about it and i went to polar air on country club. To find out all that was wrong was a bad relay and low freon. A $750 went to a fix that was less than $100. So be careful of this company.

Both mine, and my fiancé’s vehicles had issues within a week of each other. Mike and his team did a diagnostic on both vehicles, figured out what was wrong and had both cars back within 48 hours of each hitting the shop!!

Very knowledgeable

Had my transmission rebuilt. Have a one year warranty. Had to bring it there twice for problems after it. On the second time I had a 500 dollar sound system stolen a .45 magazine 12 shell with the ammo can. Lawn chairs plus gas now my car has a problem where it is wobbly
