The parking here sucks. Definitely would not come with a trailer. Luckily someone left and made their spot available before we went elsewhere. The tackle selection wasnt very impressive. But the gentleman working at the time was nice, live shrimp were very lively, and the pricing was good.

Great little shop with rod, reels and light tackle. Very easy to talk with and knowledgeable about locations. Will be back shopping with him again.

Knowledgeable staff. Son wanted to fish from kayaks we rented from Grab N Go Kayaks. They recommended this place for buying bait. The staff explained how we can target some of the local fish and made tips on what tackle to use. Got back to vacation home and son had a blast kayaking backyard canal and catching fish. The tips worked and made for a trip my kids will always remember.

Great service, great bait shop. Shrimp were in much better shape then the shop down the street. Highly recommend.

Hard to find tucked away in the little strip mall but worth the trip because the shrimp were more active then others weve gotten from another bait shop in Cape Coral!

Went to go return a brand new fishing reel that had never been used and was quite pricey because another reel that I ordered had came in the mail. I asked the owners of Snook hut but they absolutely wouldnt refund me my money back. Theres no sign saying no refunds anywhere. I was very polite and said ok have a nice day and left. Thats bad business especially for residents like me who are a big part of fishing community. I know a lot of people in Cape Coral and word of mouth spreads quickly. I would rather support a small business than other places like basspro but I do not support Snook hut anymore.

Nice owners, very friendly, good stock and helpful. As bait shops go this is one of the nicer joints. The previous operators were not always the friendliest thankfully the new owners resolved this issue.

They where close at 5.when on their website it say at 6pm wasted of time they should up day the info. Wasted off time.

Owner was helpful to me and to a newbie that came in needing help with his pole setup. Those little things make people feel comfortable asking for help and THAT brings you more business.

We have visited the shop many times (on furniture shopping trips) or getting a hot honey pizza at Nice Guys across the street. Recent trips were to add a rod and reel for both of us. Wife wanted a rod with a bit more flex, and Mike showed us a variety of rods and reels, not hawking the most expensive. Wife wanted something light weight, but I wasnt sure I wanted a medium. Mike suggested we take hers home and I try it out, then come back if I like a rod not so stiff. He also suggested we bring our tackle boxes to see what we needed. Bottom line is I got the same rod and reel (reel was 25% off), which he set up. Also, after looking at our boxes (small, they fit under our kayak seeks), Mike said we had enough for what we wanted to do.It is just refreshing to get solid fishing advice, not being talked down to as in many other stores as we are relatively new to fishing in this area, and, getting a fair and discounted price on equipment. Oh, the Shimano fishing sandals were priced better than on line. I gave it 5 stars mostly for Mike, and he runs a well stocked honest shop. No complaints here...

By far the best bait and tackle shop in the area! I have been to all the bait and tackle shops in the area to many times to count. The Snook Hut is just a superior shop. Every time I have bought live bait from Snook Hut the bait was extremely lively. I am more of an artificial guy myself and Snook Hut has all the best lures. If you go in there and they do not have something your looking for. All you have to do is tell them what your looking for and they will get it in for you. They are very friendly and have no problem offering up tips or suggestions. Unlike some other bait shop I know of. Great live bait, great tackle, and great people.......... Just cant beat that.

Ive only been in Cape Coral 2 years, so I am still learning a lot about fishing here. Mike Shelton (manager of Snook Hut) has been a TREMENDOUS help to me. First, Snook Hut has regular seminars that are very educational. I attend all of them. Second, Mike personally works with you to strengthen your knowledge and skill set. He even helps show people how to throw a cast net out back. Who else does that or even bothers to take the time to do it? Mike has 4 charter captains that constantly call in and report where the fish are, which allows Mike to keep us all informed every day.And here is my best part - he gives 10% to members of the Cape Coral Reel Anglers Fishing Club !R.

Nice shop. Mike is extremely friendly and always willing to help show you where to go. Good variety. Due to volume, he cant get the lowest prices, but shopping local and supporting local business makes it worth it.

They are always in stock of fishing gear and tackle, bait! West Marine and Crazy Lure have nothing on this place, and Ive used all 3 regularly. Christine is awesome and so helpful! We ordered an ABF 90 reel from here and it came in the next day! If you order before noon, they can almost guarantee youll have it the next day, Im sure with random exception. But still, its probably the best business Ive ever done in the Cape with a small business, definitely as far as a bait shop goes. Love Snook Hut and will send all of my friends here.

Came to Cape Coral from Charleston, SC to catch some Snook and Tarpon knowing nothing of the area. Spoke with Mike for a good while and he was an open book. Went out the next day and caught a bunch of Snook on his advice. Came in again today to pick up a couple more things and got even more pointers and different spots to try. Had great conversation and good laughs with Mike. Cheers, bud!

When I was in town last year, I stopped in to get information on where to fish and find a guide. The store was well supplied. The person there was very helpful. When I told him Im a tourist staying on a canal. He joked that I want to know how to catch the fish that are jumping in the canal. I said I didnt but now that he mentioned it how can I. He explained that they are vegetarians so I cant. When I told him I wanted to hire a guide, he made several calls to find me a guide. He did everything short of taking me out fishing to make my experience great. I got some bait and he suggest some places to fish. Im back in town and going there in a few minutes.

Friendly service and very helpful with bait and everything. I tried several places and their shrimps have on average the best size and are the liveliest. Very good live bait.

It just so happens that I frequent the Snook Hut often and was in line behind these two Willcutt kids. No one was rude to them. It was explained the reason there were no pin fish and when they wanted to buy 1 dozen shrimp with a debit card they were politely told there was a 10.00 minimum. Nothing was ever said about buckets in any door. Snook Hut is my preferred store and have always been treated great with anything I needed there. Fisherman or a seasoned angler, Snook Hut has you covered with entry level to premium equipment for all your needs.

My wife and I went to the Snook Hut from a recommendation of a local fishing captain for some fishing gear. We rented a boat for a few days and needed to get hooked up with some fishing gear for some inshore fishing. everything I picked out that I thought I needed Mike ended up putting back and showed us what we really needed. and he gave us a lesson on how to rig it and use it. He took his time with us and even showed us on a map where to fish. It was a breath of fresh air to see there is still a place to go to with honesty and make you feel like a long time customer.

I have been fishing for the past 15 years and this is by far the best bait and tackle store i have ever been in. Mike (the owner) is very patient when it comes to teaching you what to use and how to use it, as well as where to go when targeting any species of fish. The Snook Hut is filled with every kind of lure you can imagine and with a variety of very lively live bait as well if thats what you prefer.You will also find a large variety of good quality rods, reels, and line at a great price. I would highly recommend the Snook Hut to anybody visiting or fishing the Cape Coral area, you will not be disappointed.

Mike Shelton is my go to guy when I fish Pine Island Sound and the surrounding waters. He is helpful,patient, extremely knowledgeable and always puts me on fish. The Snook Hut has everything I need to fish for my target species of Redfish, Snook and Trout. I always walk out of the shop well armed and with a little more knowledge every time I visit.

Mike was awesome. Had a rod that was all tangled up. He took the time to rework the rod and get it functional again.

I have been in Cape Coral for the last week and have been in this shop several times. Every time I was in, Mike was engaged in conversation with someone, myself included, helping them with whatever they needed. Mike put me and my sons on fish from day one. If you need a charter Mike can help, if you have a boat, even though its a deck boat because youre renting, Mike can tell you where to beach it to fish from shore and catch fish. Everyones personality is different, dont let Mikes throw you off, he is a wealth of knowledge and their prices will beat most everyone elses prices.

Visited from Charleston, SC to do some snook and tarpon fishing. Mike was great to talk with, enjoyed his personality and was a wealth of knowledge and put us on fish in no time. Dont take his sarcasm as being rude, plus its OK to know what youre talking about-too many people get butthurt over nothing. Its clear he stocks the baits he personally uses in this area. Go in, and stock up!

This is a very nice store. They have lots of top of the line rods to pair up with great reels. I ended up getting a CI4 on a TFO rod. I was not familiar with TFO but after Mike gave me some info and I paired a few up with the reel I was sold. Ended up being there for over a hour and Mike was very patient with all my questions. This is the place to go to if you need a new rod and reel. Not to mention they have a whole wall of tackle and lures. Thanks for all the help

I went to the Snook Hut for a license and was very happy with not only the service but the selection of rod, reels, and lures. I ended up leaving with a bag of lures that I have never used but after a lesson from Mike I am looking forward to fishing with them. Thank You Snook Hut I will be back.

Dont know the chaps name behind the counter, but the most patronising and condescending bait shop I have ever been in - no advice provided and told we wont be able to catch anything. I was tempted to return with the photos of all the trout and snook we caught but couldnt be bothered dealing with the rude arrogant guy. The shrimp we bought were nearly dead too.Go to Crazy Lure instead - much better quality bait and a friendly welcome. Avoid this place.

WORST BAIT STORE IN CC!!!! That idiot behind the counter (Mike) is a know it all a**hole! He sits there in his chair and tells you about his bait and goes on and on and on and on...THEN...he wants to insult you when you bring in plastic money and will tell you Well, I guess youll get 50 shrimp since its $10 on cards.. WOW! Ill never come in your store again! Why do you have wood flooring in a bait store and make people come in the back of the store to pay in the front of the store?? Do yourself a favor and fish in the better areas of SWFL, Pine Island sound/Matlacha area. Go to Bait and Tackle, Seven Seas, or anywhere else, but stay away from here....trust me, I lived here all of my life and will never come to this bait store again...

The guy that sits on the stool behind the counter mike told me that the local guides are POS because they hold big snook out of the water while taking pictures and it harms the fish. I can respect that but he has a picture of himself holding a huge snook out of the water on his advertising cards.
