I took my car in on Thursday so it would be there for my 7:30 appointment on Friday. I called at 2:30 and it hadnt been taken back yet. At 3:02 I got a call with a price. At 4:03 I got the call that it was done. I was charged for 3 hours labor when it only took 1.5 hours at the absolute most. It shouldnt cost $402.00 to fix wiring under my seat for my air bag. I was told there were no parts it was just labor. There was an hour charge for diagnostics and 2 hours charge because thats what the book says as far as time to repair it. Im not happy about this at all. My bill should be half of what it is at the most.UPDATE: I spoke with Kent (service manager) and he adjusted my bill for me. I really appreciate it.

The receptionist as we entered was very personable and kind. The gentleman who helped us with our paperwork was also helpful and personable. Although it took a 2+ hours to get my service done (oil/lube/check out everything), I appreciate they were able to work me in at the last day before we took off on a trip.
Everyone was very kind and easy to work with. The staff were cautious regarding COVID safety which personally made me feel better about sitting in the office, as I am helping care for a cancer patient and have to be careful. The dealership was clean and our salesperson Gabe made our experience very positive and pleasant. We have no complaints!
I have not encountered any problems or had service done that was not offered in order to drive up the price. I have been advised on service options and still treated courteously when they were declined. Also my car has always been parked where I have had no difficulty reaching it, since I do have some mobility issues.

My experience with them was more than I could ask for. They went above and beyond to get it done fast. Even gave me a ride home after i dropped off my car for service. Picked me up the next day to get my car after repairs.
Never been treated like I was treated there. Bought a truck from them gave them $3,000 down and my Jeep trade in. Fast forward 30 days later and they say the truck isnt mine, they sold my trade in and refused to give me my 3,000 down back. They refused to make it right for 4 months and still dont have a vehicle. I will never buy anything from them again.Response: Yes it was your place. Nothing you can do now because it has been settled but the dings against my credit that was done almost 40 days after I bought the truck without my permission or knowledge wont be fixed for a long time.
Incredible that I’ve been here 2x and both times I’ve asked to have my brand new truck tires balanced and even after specifically having service staff repeat back to what exactly is to be done … they came up with another excuse to not balance the tires ! This is not GMC level of service I’ve come to expect- they are supposedly rotating my tires ( but can’t take tire over to the spinner ?!..hmmm)
Called about the purchase of a vehicle. We were in route to purchase a 2014 Mercedes Benz Sl 550( supposedly the owners vehicle). Was driving a 2 hr drive one way, received call from sales person (who was professional) that owner did not want to sell any longer and changed his mind. That was fine, but then car came back online before week was over as sold, then popped back up with for sale online but was asking $5000 over what was originally priced. Been watching this vehicle go up and down in price now for weeks! Sounds like a crook to me!!! I suggest not even trying to do any business with them at all!!!!!!! FYI ppl do watch things like this online!! Wouldn’t even give this place a 1 star, just had to fir post!!!

I purchased a 2010 GMC Terrain from Auffenberg in September of 2020. My husband and I had been saving for a long time and were in great need of a reliable vehicle, and after some discussion, we decided to make the purchase. Our sales rep, Bill, was great throughout the entire process, but that great service ended shortly after the vehicle was purchased. I noticed that smoke or steam was coming from underneath the hood and I brought this up to Bill. I needed to bring the car back in to have a replacement part installed that hadn’t came in yet at the time of purchase, and he said the mechanics could look at it and take care of it then. The part was replaced (ac compressor), but the smoke/steam was never addressed. About a month after the purchase I took my car in for an oil change at another shop and I was informed that the pcv hose had broken and was letting moisture into the oil, which caused the engine to lose oil and they found metal shavings in the oil. They could tell the hose had been replaced before, but not with the appropriate hose. I immediately emailed Bill about this and never got a response. I even called and left him voicemails asking him to please check his emails and get back to me. Additional emails have been sent without a reply. Now I am stuck with a vehicle that loses oil rapidly, idles hard, rattles and the ac compressor that was replaced is already faulty. On top of that when I pulled into the parking lot of work this morning, oil was pooling under the vehicle within seconds. We are not affluent people and poured every bit of our savings into a down payment for this car that we had been assured was thoroughly inspected and maintained. I hate writing reviews, but I am praying that this will get to the right people so someone can help me.Addendum: I have waited for over 3 weeks for a member of the Auffenberg team to reach out to me and I have received nothing. Not a call, not an email. Absolutely disgusting, disappointing and downright deceitful. I was fully prepared to pay whatever it took to fix the issues I was having with the vehicle. Because of this, I have decide to share a few more details. When I was first looking into purchasing the vehicle and met personally with Bill, I asked him how the financing was done at the dealership. He told me that their financing was done through SIU Credit Union, which I was totally fine with. He laid out out long I was approved for financing and what my monthly payment would be and everything looked good. Went I went it for signing the final paperwork, I was encouraged to agree to a warranty offered by the dealership. This would add extra monthly cost, which is understandable. However, the warranty would last for 2 years, whereas I would be paying for the warranty for 4 years. I opted to not participate as it didnt make sense for me to pay for a service that wouldnt be beneficial to me for an entire 2 years. So, I signed on the dotted line and the vehicle was mine. I was horrified at what I would discover in the following months. No less than 6 hard inquires were filed against my credit without my knowledge, let alone consent! For weeks the letters continued to arrive. Applications for an auto loan that I did not ask for, all denied, from agencies I knew nothing about. Marks against my credit, that I had been working so hard for years to improve, dropped by 100 points. How this entire interaction was handled completely escapes words. I am disgusted, sickened and ruined by how this has been handled. Shame on you, Affenburg. You took advantage of a family trying to make their way in the world, and ruined them by destroying their credit and taking their money. But who cares? You got your sale- right? My next step will be to taking this to the Better Business Bureau. You cant treat customers like this and expect to get away with it.

I was on my way from St.Louis to Carbondale when my Enclave Intellink froze. I called my St Louis dealer (who offered no help and didnt return my call) and then I thought to call Auffenberg in Carbondale. James answered the phone and assured me that if I could get my car there before the technicians left, he would get my car looked at. I went straight there, James worked me in and the service technician was able to fix it! I was on my way in about an hour! I am very grateful they were so helpful!
Very friendly while selling you a car and receiving your money. Three weeks after purchase, we still have not received the title or the 2nd key fob they couldn’t find. We live in a different state but had to pay Illinois sales tax and we’re told we would be mailed the sales tax back within a week, still have not received it. Have left SEVERAL messages with our salesman, general manager, assistant general manager, and finance manager to try to ask where we are as far as receiving our paperwork. We have been sent to voicemail EVERYTIME. Cannot get anyone to return a call. Tried explaining to the receptionist to please connect us to an actual person and she says of course but I’m only the receptionist, guess what, yep, went to a voicemail. Next, we’re driving back over an hour and a half to show up in person. Will NEVER do business here again.
As always Auffenberg of Carbondale always give great service. They are always helpful and friendly. They are quick to get the job done so I dont have to wait too long.
My sales guy bill went out of his way to find the vehicle that my wife wanted and delivered it at a great price.

Terrible customer service, do not recommend to anyone. Took our truck, (purchased from Auffenburg) in multiple times. The first time after they “fixed” the issue, we were charged hundreds of $600 + only to have the same light come on during the trip home. Proceeded to take it in two other times, only to have them tell us they cannot fix it, but they kept our money in which we paid for our truck to be fixed. Contacted the service manager MULTIPLE times, only to be lied to repeatedly. Needless to say we paid them to do NOTHING and the service manager only ignores emails and calls. If you want your vehicle fixed, please take it to a dealership that is capable.

Everything went as expected. Great communication, work done on time, and Truck washed as a bonus. My only complaint is cost is higher than most oil changes and rotations. After warrenty expires, will reconsider if worth it.
We purchased a truck here in 2015. Stopped by to look at new 2020s, didnt have just what we were looking for but said they would look. Never heard another word. Purchased a 2020 in Belleville, Il. Used the service department for recalls and we were pleased.

My wife and I just bought a 6000 dollar car from Auffenberg of Carbondale and appreciated several things about our visit. First, while we were buying a fairly cheap car, we felt that we were taken seriously and treated with respect. We also appreciated that we did not feel pressured to buy the car by the dealer.On the other hand, there were some negative aspects to our experience as well. When we asked if we could take the vehicle to get it inspected by a third party, the salesman (while he would have let us) made us feel like this was a stupid request. We ended up buying the car without doing the inspection because a garage was not able to take us soon enough. The morning after we bought the car, the serpentine belt started to squeal loudly soon after starting the engine. I called the dealership to see if they would fix this even though it wasnt technically on the warranty (who wants a squeaky car on day two). I was told that this was just a maintenance issue and I would have to take care of it myself. I also learned that the Auffenberg mechanic had heard the squeak and didnt consider it important enough to mention. All in all, this is not a huge deal and will hopefully be an easy fix. However, the fact that it was not brought to our attention (when Auffenberg emphasizes transparency) and the fact that they were unwilling to help with the issue when it arose within 24 hours of buying the car, leaves a slightly unpleasant taste in my mouth.

I had never purchased from this dealership before. It was recommended to me by a friend, specifically to ask for Georgia. I had already done research about which vehicle I wanted. I arrived, asked for Georgia, and was able to test drive the vehicle I ended up purchasing, with ease. The process was simple, as was working with both Georgia and Rick.
Took our GMC in for a tire rotation, balance, and oil change. We were expecting our to be what it was last time, about $50 plus tax. NOPE.... No one explained to us that a balance is an additional $70 YES $70!!!!!! Ive been getting rotation and balances done for several years now. I have never been anywhere that the are 2 different fees. Normally they are done together. So our $50 service turned into $125!! We will never go there again unless it is covered by our warranty.
Bought a 2016 Acadia new in March of 16 about a year ago at just over 18,000 miles noticed some splits in both front tires up close to the rim around a 16th to a 8th inch deep. Thats not normal weather cracking I dont care what the service department says. They also said the car warranty thats fine but they do have manufacturers warranty though. My wife took the car there after months of phone calls with no help. After arguing with the terrible service people they agreed to get us tires for a discount. Well here it is over a year later and guess what still no phone call to get the tires and still driving on tires that make me nervous. They sold my my first and last car I will never buy here again and I couldnt be more happy that I didnt buy a service plan oh wait thats probably why they wont help us.
Fast service and they washed my car
I found it difficult to get a good read on this dealership. The sales staff was Ok, the sales manager Im not so sure. After returning home and reading the reviews I must admit they are accurate. Expect little to no negotiations in price. That being said, the price of the vehicle I was looking at was pretty fair. The trade value was dismal with almost no movement on price. Again, I can live with it but was still a little let down. After realizing this was a car negotiation, and taking my personal feelings out of the equation I was satisfied. If you or I want more, then we should sell it on our own. Overall I would give this dealership 3.5 stars, there is room for improvement. My hope is the reviews for service are inaccurate, a lot of them were not favorable. I personally have not had any dealings with them.
Nancy in sales department is just awesome. She will do all she can to make sure her costumers are satisfied and walk out happy. I recently got a great lease deal.
Had not returned to this dealership for about 36000 miles. Decided to give them another opportunity. Never again. AC worked, but not as well as it should have. Car was serviced, air filter replaced, cabin filter replaced, and AC checked. After being told the recommended repairs to A C would be about $1300, I elected to delay the repair. Car was returned and the air didnt work at all! After inquiries at the dealership, I received all kinds of excuses, none that sounded reasonable. Stopped at a repair shop on the way home and had the AC checked. Same repair is estimated at a little over $700 AND the car was returned with the air working. It has worked well for 2 days and will be repaired next week, but not at Auffenberg!

Horrible customer service! It starts at the front desk and ends in the service department. They offer services to customers that they dont even provide. I was promised 2 free oil changes and tire rotations with purchase and they conveniently lost the paperwork. They agreed to compensate, but only completed the oil change and forgot to do the tire rotation. I took the car to a completely different GMC dealer and have had no troubles at all with promised services. Auffenberg receives two stars only because I like the vehicle, but would NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone.
Had our Buick in for regular service as we were leaving on a trip soon. Kent Martin and his team did a great job as always. They are always on there game, when I left the Dealership I knew my car was road ready. I have total confidence and trust when it comes to there Service Department. Thank you Team Auffenberg !

They did an ok job, replaced our starter they even washed our truck. The waiting room was tiny dirty as pretty much the whole facility looked run down. I felt robbed. They charged $742.00. Just to replace a starter!?

What a joke Ill take my money to St. Louis/Paducah. They charge $125 an hour!!!!!!! There are plenty of certified and reliable repair shops in the area for $65 an hour. They also mark up replacement parts 50+%. Auffenburg should be ashamed for taking advantage of their customers. Im never taking my cars here again.

Disappointed! A front end alignment was recommended shortly after my car had just undergone repair from front end damage. No alignment was necessary.

When I purchased my vehicle from this dealership, I was treated with disrespect and ignorance. I was never followed up with, show how to use anything in my vehicle and most importantly; ripped off. Do not take your GMC vehicle to this service department unless you purchase your vehicle from the dealership. I made an appointment and was told they would complete the service within 1 hour. When I arrived they said they were backed up. When they discovered that I did not purchase the vehicle at the dealership I was told I should not expect the same level of service as a customer who purchased their vehicle from them even though I had an appointment. I do not live in the area full time but wanted to have routine maintenance performed. I was also interested in other repairs. A good business would not only be interested in current customers but also building a good reputation with future customers. After this experience I will not return and will tell everyone I know about the bad experience. I also reported the experience to GMC.

Went in looking to buy a car. Talk to the sales guy that was refered from a friend. Told him what I was looking for. He told me what they had available. To go on the hill and check them out. He said he was going to finish a ladies transaction. Put her plates on. He would be out. Waited over a hour out there. Plus we had a new born baby with us. He never showed up. If your to busy atleast send someone else out. Wont be buying my car there.

My starter went out on my GMC Envoy Denali I had never done business with this company it was after hours but I took a chance and had it towed to them they were extremely busy but they worked me in diagnosed the problem after i contacted them the next morning gave two price choices got me worked into the schedule came in at their estimate fixed it on time cleaned my Denali i picked it up couldnt be happier except how expensive the starter is to replace.
