What a nice little gem. I was just passing by and spend about an hour browsing the shop. It’s definitely more of a Gaming Shop however they do have a nice selection of new comics and back issues. One major tip to consider is BROWSE THEIR BACK ISSUES, they are all cover priced, you will find some keys. Also, make sure you look at the comics around the boarder of the ceilings. There are some great early issues of ASM and FF.

This place is amazing!!Only been a few times but they already remembered who I was!! Definitely would recommend and better than the ones in my home town of Mount Vernon. Everytime I go to Carbondale I make my wife to stop here while she is out shopping for other things.Keep up all the good work!!

I love little hole-in-the-wall places like this so I may be biased. The place was really quite lovely though. The man working behind the counter was so polite and kept his mask on (which I really liked) all of the floor space was tightly packed and efficient layout so I found what I wanted like dice and miniatures with ease.10/10 will visit again with my friends.

Large selection, was given a quick tour upon arrival. They have comics, board games (Can Rent as well) Mini Figurines and everything to build on that. Loved they had a game room and active games happening, its good to see some normalcy in the world.

Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They gave us a great tour of the inside and invited us to stay and play some games. They were knowledgeable on recommendations as well. They don’t call it the coolest store in town for nothing!

This is a great shop. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, theres a wide selection of role playing games, board games, comics as well as miniatures, and a host of collectible card games and painting accessories for the miniatures. There are regular gaming sessions, with all patrons still required to use masks and adhere to social distancing, which include games and activities for almost all ages from kids to fully grown man children like myself. Unlike many comic and game stores they also allow service animals with no hassle and welcome well behaved children, which is a rarity in my experience. Ive been shopping here for 15+ years and they always take great care of me and have a friendly hello and wave when I show up. Castle Perilous is a staple of the Carbondale gaming and comic community and I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone interested in any services/products they offer. They also currently offer free curbside pickup, and they even deliver inside Carbondale city limits for orders, over I think 50 dollars for anyone who doesnt want to/feel comfortable going out to get their comic or gaming fix. Theyve been around for 30 years, and once you shop there, youll quickly find out why!

They have a great selection of comics and great pricing. Love the catalog of Cards by set. Really helps you get to exactly what you may be looking for, only downside here is that things are lots pricey then other places when it comes to TCG games/or single cards.

Cool game store with lots of stuff you cant get at big box stores!

The only thing to do in this town and what a great thing to do. Theyre more pricey than online but offer cheap used boardgames and tabletops and have a discount stamp card.

Awesome selection of games, helpful staff both times Ive been there and lots of nice features.My biggest complaint with Castle Perilous is that my bank account ends up lower everytime I visit. There are just so many great games that you cant get anywhere else in this area and from talking to them, even if they dont have it, they can try to order it.Another great thing is the demo room. You can try out a selection of games and see if its something you would like to pickup, or even rent out games if the upfront cost is too much for you.If you love boardgames you should stop by.

Ive been a regular customer of CP for more than 20 years. They have the largest selection of games and accessories in the area. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help.The only negative thing I can say is that I always wind up spending more time and money than planned!

I absolutely adore Castle Perilous. If I ever get free time I find myself wandering through the store looking at various games to buy. I have my eye on quite a few, but the hardest part is deciding on the next one to buy! If youre ever in need of opinions just ask the staff. Theyre always helpful!

This would be a gem if it werent for the owner. The atmosphere is great, awesome games, fun events. Great location, all around amazing, but the owner is so deeply unfriendly I hesitate to spend money here when I could go to Game Fuzion on the strip or buy online.

Its not the best place in the world. Everything is way overpriced and needs stock more often than not when it comes to dice and cards. The owner is not very nice either. The workers however make it cool. But I only come here because I its the onlyh option. For most my DnD needs. If there was any other place I would go there.

Wide variety of goods for tabletop gaming and comics, however some items you can find at other places at a cheaper price, plus staff can be off-putting at times. Otherwise, a decent place to get your gaming goods 👍🏻

They might not be reading out of the same game manual that you are but at least everybody theres on the same page. Offering a safe environment for children and adults to game in whatever fantasy environment that they choose. So whether its Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Dungeons, or Mec and Orc miniatures Perilous has got what you need and at a pretty decent price.
