The course be better kept for the prices. Very challenging. Plays long. The Champions course is nicer than the Legends course..
A joke for the price. Nothing about this course is bad, but nothing about it fetches the nearly $200 per round. Rough greens, a lot of mixed dead grass, inconsistent greens, and shoddy mats on the driving range, this was an unfortunate and disappointing day.
The course was nice, but not worth the fees. The greens need quite a bit of work.
Real good place to play golf. All of staffs is very kind.Well maintained course.I love this course.
Quality old school layiut
Nice staff and very cool layout. Can see why they hosted a tour event in the past. It was winter when I played so conditions were rough, but overall a nice place.
This is a very nice place 🙂
Played the champions course and it was in beautiful shape. The fairways were firm and rolled a decent amount and the rough was not penalizing. The greens were fast and were easy to read. They were also receptive but had a hard first bounce. Enjoyed the course very much and will play it again in the future. Also, they have a excellent short game practice facility.
Great course with two 18s. Both are challenging but awesome. If you want to play 36 beware the members get a course each day so youll be playing the same side twice.
Great amenities, great service, great food, great golf. The only improvement that comes to mind would be for all the great things you can do here to be included in some in room literature. I felt like I had to ask far too often about common things. A great stay and I would return.
Most beautiful resort Ive ever been to. Champions course was exactly what a expensive course should feel like. Lightning greens and awesome fairways. Probably the best designed golf course Ive played and Ive played about 150 courses worldwide. Highly recommended. Met 2 great people ed and Maureen there too. What a lovely day...
Greens were in rough shape as well as the fairways. Bunkers were rock hard with very little sand and tons of small rocks, for $100 not worth it!
Best resort.
Terrible. Unlevel tee boxes. Dead fairways. No rough. Grass is all thatch and roots. Aerated greens 2 weeks ago and not even close to healed. No shuttle service from parking lot which is a 5 minute walk. $30 would have been a rip off and we paid $100 each. Left after 8 holes.
Played on the Champions course on Saturday July 9. Loved the course as well as the folks that were involved in every stage of the operation including the valet attendants. The only problem I had was that on this particular day the pin colors gave no indication as to where the pins were. Some red pins were in the back and some blue pins were in the back. Some red pins were in front and some blue pins were in front. You get the picture. My wrist rangefinder was made useless on numerous holes preventing me from shooting at the pin. I am sure this was an isolated incident. I will update the rating after my next visit to confirm the pin placement.
I was disappointed. This isn’t the La Costa you saw on TV with Tiger. You can really tell it’s a resort course now, they’ve moved the budget to the social aspect of the resort and stripped it from the golf course. Course is dry and dead, no rough at all, minimally maintained. Looks elsewhere if you are in San Diego looking to golf. If you want high end I’d recommend Maderas, Aviara, and Grand Del Mar.
Had a great time. Beautiful weather. Super nice staff.
Great course, watch out for warden if your game isnt up to par.
Fabulous resort. Two courses. Played the Champions which has hosted PGA events. Course was punched and overseeded so not as perfect as it is normally but greens were great.
Truly Professional
Course pros were consummate professionals, the course itself was excellent, and the bartenders were awesome. Our group had an amazing time
Have you played these greens?...., manicured with fiskars is all I can say... Dont miss18 of the 36 holes offered here.
Ive played golf at La Costa more times than I can remember. All three courses are great with a few water hazards. The championship course is excellent and the Legends course. The course is well-kept. Somewhat forgiving course unlike Aviara or the Crossings. Expensive on weekends about the same as Aviara.
Two great golf courses, and a lovely resort overall.
Was good little fun not that much 😂😅
Great golf course. Friendly faculties.
Course was not worth the price they charge, nice ambiance though.
A family owned restaurant and a very good place to eat. Its like your mothers kitchen.
Legends course is great! You can see why pro events were held here.
Beautiful course! Would love to play it again!
Excellent greens, great fairways fun and challenging for sure ..
Great, well kept, and on time golfing experience.
Very nice quiet private place.
Great food, service and golf enthusiast paradise.
Its ok. Not in great shape. Needs work.
I enjoyed staying and golfing there.
Beautiful walk for a rainy day in San Diego County.
The course was kept up like any municipal course would be around the country. Pretty average.
Beautiful grounds and excellent service.
Interesting layout golf course!
Beautiful day at La Costa with Burk and Bruce!

Its a champion course... Its a champion course. The lawn is well maintained, and its better to play interestingly. Its all harder and quite fun course layout than the Legend course.
