This review is lengthy, and a bit of a mixed bag, so bear with me...I ordered some parts from Volquartsen for my Mk IV tactical that I was building up and eagerly anticipated their delivery the second the order was placed. The time frame for package delivery was scheduled to be either on a Wednesday or Thursday, which was perfect; plenty of time to have it together for the weekend. After placing the order, I disassembled my pistol so that it was ready once the parts arrived. They never arrived.On the day they were expected to arrive, I was able to watch the UPS delivery on a live map. My delivery got to within 2 miles of my residence and then the order status changed from out for delivery to returning! I contacted UPS and they told me that my address was invalid. We were able to determine that a typo had been made somewhere but they couldnt correct the issue from their end. Only the customer (volquartsen, not me) could request an address change. I asked if they could have it sent to a UPS store in my city the following day. No bueno.After some emails back and forth with Volquartsen, the kind woman on the other end confirmed that she made a minor mistake when entering my shipping address from the sales invoice. No big deal. I just needed the issue to be corrected ASAP before the package left my state (on the East coast) for return to the midwest (I still had hope for salvaging the weekend at that point).The following day, I checked the tracking again and the package was already in Indiana. I sent an email that basically said if this has to go all the way back to Carroll, IA before it can be sent to me, please cancel my order. There was no reply. I tried to call their office to no avail and left a message briefly stating the situation and my wishes to cancel the order, along with my phone number. No return phone call, no action at all from their end. Maybe they were busy, but my gut was telling me that they were dodging me. I called them from a different number with a different area code and they answered right away.I didnt confront them or get nasty with them, just identified myself and explained the situation and asked that they please cancel my order. I dont want to opine on what the person on the other end of the phone was probably thinking when he realized that it was me. He agreed to cancel my order and I was finally relieved.Why would I be relieved? We missed the goal of having it for the weekend, but I still wanted the parts.Heres what I found during this fiasco: These parts can be had from many different retailers for considerably less than the prices listed on the volquartsen website. By ordering the same parts from another website, I saved about $80 (after shipping & taxes) and their shipping was surprisingly quick. I still missed the weekend, but I saved a fair amount of money.Instead of completely torching Volquartsen with this review, Im giving them 3 stars because the quality of the components are top notch and they made a considerable improvement to the pistol. I think theyre the best components on the market. It was money well spent. Ive got two MkIIs and am considering upgrading them as well.Am I disappointed with my customer service experience? Yes. Do I also blame UPS for being unhelpful in my experience? Also, yes. Is my experience a one off circumstance that probably wont happen to anyone else? Most likely. Ive got a certain kind of luck. They seem to have a good reputation. However, what I recommend is this: only buy parts direct from Volquartsen if you cant find them anywhere else. You will save money and will likely get them sooner. And for Volquartsen: We like the small business touch that you guys have, but please, automate your ordering process so that these types of mistakes cant be made again in the future. If a typo is made, let it be MY fault!

Not only are Scott and the team committed to outstanding workmanship, they are also committed to hard to find levels of excellence in customer service.Long story short, we just wrapped up an oddly elusive warranty concern that turned out not to be a Vq part and Scotts personal commitment to go above and beyond, find a solution and put it into action should be a model for many! Its absolutley AMAZING how much the accurizing kit improves the Ruger MK IV. Ive purchase two now and would say they are worth every penny at twice the cost. Love them. Fun to install as well. Their rear target sight is also a huge improvement over factory. The email communication for order confirmation and tracking info is also immediate. Highly recommended!
