Overall I was satisfied with my appointment. However I did have a couple of issues after I left. I used Google Maps to give me the best way home. When the audio in the app came on to tell me of upcoming turns, I only heard the instructions in my right hearing aid. Also, if I change the settings the volume in my right hearing aid reduces to half volume for a few seconds.
I have been with Audibel about 3 years and have been very pleased with the efficient, caring and professional service I have always received. My hearing aids have given me great service with very little maintenance required. I highly recommend them.
Couldn’t ask for better. I was seen as soon as I arrived. Had my hearing tested and proceeded to check my hearing. I felt I had lost some and realized I had. Had great presentation as to what was going on. We talked about a new aid and wanted to give my current one more time.Left feeling that I knew where I was currently and was given some ideas as to what the future holds. Great check up and great doctor !

What an amazing experience. We have been to ENT and Costco for my husband and neither got to the root of the problem. Joe did a great job showing, explaining and finding the issue. No pushy sales. Very impressed and appreciative of what they do. We totally recommend them. A+++
Solid hearing test. Had others in the past not so thorough. Bought a hearing aid and so far so good. Recommend to anyone who might wonder if they should or not. Money well spent.
My mother Helen is nearing 97 and has Starkey hearing aids that are more than 10 years old. She lived in Apex and we routinely went to Audibel in Cary for tuning and repairs. Our experience with Hearing Specialist Joe Tahan and his assistant Susan has been outstanding. The office is run efficiently and professionally and most importantly, with kindness. A year ago, we moved Helen to Chapel Hill, but we still travel more than 35 minutes to go to the Cary Audibel because of Joe and Susan. They routinely go beyond the norm to ensure that my mothers old hearing aids are working properly. She is treated not just as a customer, but like a long-time friend.
Dr. Joe is fantastic he worked with my dad who was blind as well as partially deaf. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Dr.Joe and Ms. Susan
Overall experience excellent. Efficient and friendly check in by Susan. Extremely thorough exam and hearing aid evaluation by Hearing Aid Specialist, Joe Tahan. Its clear he knows his trade along with a refreshing enthusiasm. Untiring patience with my 96 year old mother must also be acknowledged. The Starkey aides she uses have many features that Mr. Tahan explained werent enacted by the previous hearing center we went to in NJ. He enabled them and usefully tweaked the aides to attain their maximum potential. Highly recommend.
The professional staff at Audibel-Cary provided the utmost understanding, great knowledge, and were totally attuned to finding the best solution for help with my hearing loss. From the first phone call for an initial appointment to the testing, and follow-up visits, the service has been great. During the process of selecting the product to help normalize my hearing, clarity of speech, and understanding, the Hearing Instrument Specialist took the necessary time to explain and clarify each step of the process. There was never any pressure for sales, only the great service alluded to. The specialist listened to my concerns and was exemplary in explaining the process of helping those with hearing loss. After receiving the instruments, the quality continued with scheduled follow-ups to insure complete satisfaction and for any adjustments necessary. I am completely satisfied with the Audibel-Cary Hearing Center, the hearing instrument product, and service. It has been a really good experience.
I have to commend the staff at the Cary, NC Audibel office for the exceptional level of customer service. My husband has a very complicated hearing loss. Time and time again, Joe Tahan, hearing specialist, took the time and care to adjust, tweak and try different approaches to maximize his ability to hear. Joe was always patient, kind, knowledgeable, and professional. He consistently displayed an understanding and helpful demeanor and made every effort to meet the need each time. Susan, the receptionist, was always kind and helpful as well. We have now moved out of state, but the service and help we received from this office, and the outstanding personnel, will always be among the best customer service experiences we have encountered.
Brief history - severe hearing loss; using hearing aids more than 7yrs in real love/hate relationship; always top-of-line instruments; initially always pleased but time usually pointed out flaws with each pair. This time I waited several months just to see what I could find wrong with the aids I got from Audibel. I have no complaints!Joe did a superior job of explaining each step of this process including physiology and anatomy of the ear and hearing (Im a retired RN so not a novice). Very pleased with the fact that he urged my wife to be present because she gets just as much benefit as you do - he, according to my wife, was right! My hearing aids were expensive but she insist they are worth every penny!Susan was very personable and helpful in each step of this process. All-in all, a very positive experience. Recommend without reservation!
Had a great experience with Joe with both my father and father-n-law. Joe is extremely knowledgeable and goes out of his way to not only explain how hearing loss occurs but to go into detail explaining what hearing assistance can be provided. He truly cares about his patients which is rare. We have been to multiple hearing centers that seemed more interested in taking our money than truly helping improve hearing loss. Thank you Joe for going the extra mile. I cant say enough great things about our experiences with you and Audibel!
Joe Tehan is great. He explained everything about hearing loss, how hearing aids work, what test results mean and the Alzheimer’s link to hearing loss. He is a wonderful teacher. We truly appreciate his patience. Thank you Joe. We will tell others.
We L-O-V-E them! My mothers hearing is almost completely gone in 1 ear and poor in the other. They made certain that her hearing aids worked properly and showed us features she didnt even know existed with her hearing aids.They were able to program them for different settings - noisy locations like restaurants for 1 setting, TV for another setting, etc... They also showed us a microphone that can be held by others or clipped onto their clothing. This allows her to clearly hear doctors and participate in her own healthcare. She loves it - and so do the doctors. If we have an emergency (ear infection, wax blocking the hearing aid, etc...) they are always able to squeeze us into their schedule. They carefully explain everything. Couldnt be friendlier or more helpful.
My experience with Joe Tahan, HAS in Cary, NC was just fantastic! I had given up on my old hearing aids. My brother told me about how great his new ones were, so I tried again. Someone at the VA suggested Joe Tahan. From the moment I went into his office, I knew it was going to be great. The technology was far more than I had ever seen. Audibel put together a wonderful experience. Best of all Joe clearly explained everything to the level of detail that I wanted. He was very patient and a great listener. While in the Army, I shot a great deal. He saw that by just looking at my chart! I have become a raving fan and don’t hesitate to share my experience.
Ok, so I just wanted to find out about my hearing and made an appointment with Audibel Hearing Center in Cary N.C.and Im not the normal compliments kind of person but my experience was amazing and felt I needed to share with everyone, I guess you could say I had an Ah Ha !!!! moment as my sister calls it but anyways I did not realize that I was missing so much until Dr.Joe enlightened me. His way of explaining everything was on point and extremely straightforward with the utmost kindness and consideration that Ive ever experienced . Im from out of town and even though he did not have the exact hearing aids that I wanted his professionalism and and concern was genuine and sincere.
Awesome !! Everytime that I take my mother to her appts there the secretary goes out of her way to assist us and the doctor is awesome he always has so much patience with my mother and I really appreciate that so much my mom is disabled and he takes the time to make sure that she is taken care of. They treat their patients with dignity and respect.
Joe is an excellent audiologist. Since I have gone to Joe I would not go to anyone else.
Dr. Tahan is the best audiologist Ive met and he is a top-notch professional; Susan runs the front desk and is incredibly nice as well. Dr. Tahan spent all the time needed to answer my questions, mostly related to Tinnitus, more than any doctor had previously. Their diagnostic equipment/technology is the best Ive seen and I also upgraded to newer hearing aids--with confidence--as I was well overdue. If you need help with your hearing, dont hesitate to make an appointment with Dr. Tahan and crew--especially military veterans. I learned a lot in one visit, but the most interesting fact I learned...Alzheimers and untreated hearing loss have similar symptoms and effects.
After dealing with declining hearing issues that my ENT could not resolve or identify, I saw an ad about hearing aid solutions in the local paper. On a chance, I got an appointment to meet with Joe Tahan for a hearing test. After having several audiologists conduct tests on my hearing, I thought that I knew what to expect. By far, Joe was the most detailed and professional of all that I had encountered. His explanation of the ear and how it worked was very detailed and easy to follow and his exam was extremely thorough. Much more so that the audiologists at the ENT.As I had thought to request and bring the results/charts from 3 previous visits to the ENT and only offered them to Joe after he had finished my results chart from his testing, he was able to immediately point out what he thought that the issue might be and quickly suggested that I go back to another ENT. He knew that I was ready and willing to buy whatever he had that might work and yet he would not sell me anything until after I had gone back to a different ENT.Without a doubt, when I do find out what the true issues are, I will be going back to Joe and Audibel Cary to purchase whatever is required to resolve this issue. Nothing speaks louder or clearer than an honest opinion and that is what I got from Joe Tahan and Audibel Cary.
