I have been taking my 2008 Mazda Tribute in for various service for several years. The service is superior. They trouble shot an exhaust issue that the dealership couldn’t find. Otherwise the quality and value are always excellent. Bill is very courteous and honest. I feel fortunate to have discovered Cedar Performance.

Brought 2008 Honda Accord in for check engine light inspection. FOR YEARS, car had been to numerous mechanics and oil changes with regular complaints made about grinding noises. Travelers Beware, I took my 2005 F-350 to CPT because of a clunking issue in what I believed was the transmission. We were traveling right before the 4th of July, Bill came out and hooked up the scanner. It had 2 codes P0761 and P2702.He said the transmission, while a little premature was shot. Trusting the diagnostic equipment I said OK. They did an awesome job to get and install a rebuilt transmission in 24hrs, the only problem was it didnt solve the problem, still clunking. They believed it was the PCM, waited a week and when they installed it seemed to fix it. Roughly 60 miles away, it started again.When I got home I called Bill to inform him my truck was not fixed and that I was not satisfied. I took it to a shop in Las Vegas that had worked on the truck before. After extensive searching they believed the transmission was bad, called Freeway Transmissions who had the warranty. Freeway got involved and recommended checking the transmission harness, that was the problem! Both places got the same codes that CPT got only they didnt change the transmission just the harness $725 not $5800 I paid CPT. I gave Bill and Joe the opportunity to do the right thing and refund my money, but Im sure you can figure how that went. Money is King. Bottom line dont trust their diagnostic procedure, David Troyer

Needed a new transmission and Bill was awesome to work with! Explained options and pricing without any pressure and ordered me a new transmission and got it installed just in time to go racing in California. He contacted me the following week to check up that the truck was working good and even did a free inspection to make sure everything was good. I dropped a lot of money getting a built transmission through them, and would do it again in a heartbeat and plan to take my future needs to them.

Bill and his mechanic were able to get my cracked radiator repaired within 24 hours after I saw it leaking which was great because I need my truck to get to work everyday. They were fast and efficient at a fair price. They will see me again for my regular maintenance from now on.

My daughter’s car had a coolant leak and couldn’t be driven home up north. The problem was diagnosed and fixed in one day. The car runs well now. I would recommend Cedar transmission and performance auto.

Fortunately my vehicle got an all expense paid trip, courtesy of yours truly, to Cedar Performance. Unfortunately I was the one towed into Cedar city on a Sunday after my vehicle broke down....where nothing is open on a Sunday. Made an extra night of it, hit up Cedar performance first thing Monday morning and was completely taken care of. The customer service I received is something you dont find anymore. My car stayed an extra week to get a new transmission and Cedar performance kept in touch with me and was very detailed about what was happening. Came back a week later to pick it up and take it home. Runs beautifully well, better than it ever has. Hands down best customer service I have received in a very long time.

Bill was a saint to me. Im a female van traveler and my transmission burned up near Cedar City. When I finally got to their shop Bill immediately took a drive with me to diagnose the problem and was extremely kind and patient in explaining the issue to me and giving me an estimate. He even let me plug into his shop the two nights I was there to help me save a little money and stay warm at night. Unfortunately the damage was extensive on my transmission and the cost was much more than forecasted but he also worked with me a lot on the price. The day after it was done I made my way up to Seattle with no problems. Im really glad I met these guys. So very grateful for all your help!

My Chevy Impala was having issues with the transmission shifting hard, so I had Cedar Performance Transmissions look at it.They tested it, and it was worn out around 180 k miles.I was skeptical at first, but as I talked it over with the guys, I knew it had to be replaced.I checked other shops on price and completion time and Cedar Performance Transmissions beat them.Once I paid the down payment on it on friday, the Transmission was drop shipped overnight and was installed,ready to be picked up on Monday!I really like the plug and play system where the transmission does not get opened up, but ready to go from the factory and has been dyno tested already to make sure it is working properly. These guys are awesome! I found a bearing in my oil while I was changing it in my 2006 Dodge Ram Diesel 6 speed manual transmission. Thought for sure my transmission was in need of serious repair. Took it to Bill and Joe, they looked into it and found the bearing probably came from my shift tower when my clutch was being re done (done by someone else) and had been rolling around in there for a while. Transmission was fine so they put it back together with new gaskets and seals and sent me on my way. Had a real opportunity to tell me I needed a complete rebuild but didnt. Honesty, what more can you ask for. After that I took my other 2006 Dodge Ram diesel automatic transmission to them and had them rebuild it. After about 6 months noticed a leak and took it back to them. They took care of it and didnt charge me anything. Honored the warranty they gave me when they did the original work. All of this has been a couple of years and everything is still working great. Highly recommend Bill and Joe at Cedar Performance for there work and for who they are. Highly satisfied customer. Will use them when needed again without a worry!

It’s hard to find quality honest work in the automotive industry, but Cedar Performance saved me thousands of dollars and even checked in afterwards to see if their work was holding up. Not only are the very knowledgeable, but they are well equipped and very professional. Any sort of transmission work I will definitely be going to them.

Ill share my experience with this company and you can take it for what its worth.Brought my truck in to have the timing belt replaced. Asked them if it was OK if I brought original OEM parts to use. They said that would be fine.Fast forward a little over a year and 30K miles later. New timing belt broke and ruined my motor. Took it to another mechanic that said the belt looked extremely old, brittle, and cracked. My takeaway? I think they never replaced the old belt and charged me for the labor anyway. Tough lesson learned as they were not willing to help me out in the least. Always request the old parts that come off your vehicle, folks. Wont ever go back to them again. Plenty of other reputable shops to choose from.

After getting stranded on the highway due to vehicle failure, this shop went above and beyond to diagnose our car problem, which turned out to be an engine issue, and help us get back on the road. An awful situation in the middle of a long road trip was remedied by their caring and responsible assistance. I now think of Bill as my car dad! 100% recommend them!!

I had transmission trouble when visiting Cedar City and was really happy to find a great transmission shop when I needed one. The people that work there are knowledgeable and great to work with. They got my truck up and running quickly again so I could continue back to San Diego. The truck now performs better than when it came from the factory and I was very impressed with the quality and attention to detail in their work.

Excellent customer service is provided here. On my way to vacation in Zion, I rolled into town after 5pm with an overheating transmission. They were able to get me in first thing the next morning to fix my car, which allowed for a great continuation of of our vacation and a safe trip home. Together, they are co-owners of Cedar Performance, a shop of several employees performing a wide range of automotive services. My transmission failed while traveling in So Utah. With time on my hands, I spent several hours in their waiting area over a few days witnessing the shop and customers 1st hand. My review represents the multiple customer encounters I saw, from free-diagnostics to oil changes to computer-mapping to quick phone calls asking Bill about the best 4x4 tires to buy! Even an unrelated mechanic calling Joe to consult on a mysterious issue with a transmission. I have since learned that many transmission shops, in remote areas, simply remove & replace a unit rebuilt somewhere in SLC or Denver. Not at CDC Performance. They have the diagnostic tools and ability to do the job right. They are the rebuilder of choice!

Words can not describe how great these guys are. During our road trip my son was hospitalized in Salt Lake City and life flighted back home to San Diego. While I drove the car home. My transmission went out right in cedar and I limped the van in. They dropped everything and got my van in right away. Unfortunately it was toast however instead of trying to take advantage of my situation he advised me to get it towed home and fix it there. You don’t see customer service like that anymore. We were traveling through Cedar City and stopped at a gas station only to have our car not start and the all wheel drive warning light come on. I read reviews and saw that Cedar Performance had great reviews. When we called Bill, he was out to lunch and told us he would come back to the shop soon and also told us who we could get to tow our car there. He rushed back from lunch, and went right to work on our car. We went to lunch and when we returned he had our car ready to go for us and we felt like the charge was so fair. We were treated wonderfully! He helped us through a stressful situation and we will forever be grateful. We would recommend Cedar Performance Transmission and Auto to anyone.

Bill gave me an estimate over the phone, was very professional the entire process. My transmission case was bad, and some other unexpected parts needed replaced which took a little extra time. Could have completed it sooner by cutting corners, but I am very pleased to know Cedar Performance Transmission rebuilt my transmission to a high standard.

While traveling to St George over the holidays from Salt Lake, we experienced a transmission failure. Vehicle was towed to St George Transmission Cedar City, as tow service had nothing but good to say, google reviews and AAA recommendations.Communication of every step was excellent.Very pleased with quality of work related to the transmission and would recommend. Cedar Performance Transmission stepped up for me today in a big way. I had some hydraulic issues and they were quick to diagnose and fix. I brought my 95 Jeep and amazingly, they were able to get the parts and install them by the time I went to a movie and back. Bill also gave me a lift back to the place we were staying. . Being from out of town, I have concerns with getting service in a unfamiliar area. Aptly named Cedar Performance Automotive, these folks proved that their middle name is truly performance. I had a piece of plastic scraping on the underbody of my vehicle. I came in and was greeted by Bill, who immediately took a look at my car and told me 13 plastic clips had been removed. Bill put the plastic clips on for me free of charge and cautioned me about my clutch being low. Hard to find an honest, kind mechanic like Bill nowadays! I recommend stopping by if you need help!! Wonderful experience here. Ive taken two of my cars to Cedar Performance and they have been awesome. They explained the problems I had each time and were able to fix or replace my transmissions quickly and with quality parts. In a separate situation, Joe found out that all I needed was a bolt that needed to be tightened and He didnt even charge me anything for it. Great guys that know what theyre doing!

We were on our way to California, and our a/t oil temp light kept coming on and we couldnt figure out why. We called Bill when we were about an hour and a half away, and he offered to stay after closing to help us out! I was passing through Cedar and had a check engine light on and potential transmission issues. Bill was very helpful. Although he was booked for the weekend he had me come in to diagnose the problem. He explained the what the problem was and what needed to be fixed. He could not fit me in until Tuesday (I am not from the area) but he called other shops to see if they could get me in. Very professional! Very honest! Extremely helpful!

Bill is really good guy. I moved my son from California to Cedar City for college and we brought his BMW as well which had some real big problems. I took it the closest place possible to repair it. Bill was honest with me by saying we are willing to tackle it but I dont want to take your money because we dont work on European cars. I was buying a used truck in Cedar City and needed somewhere to get it checked out first. Being from out of town I called ahead and set something up with Bill for the next day. When I got there Bill was out, but Joe and Kobe took care of me, even though they were pretty busy. As someone who obviously wasnt a current or future customer, they still went out of their way. I would definitely do business there again.

Dave is the man. My trucks transmission wouldnt stop overheating 270*+ He found the problem quickly and understood my situation ( just passing through.) Together, in 15min we had a new transmission cooler for only $200. It now runs around 180*-200*

If you can find an honest doctor, a dentist, and a mechanic your life will be easier, and these guys are my pick for Cedar City mechanics; take your car here, youll be treated well.

Well I was going from MT to CA for a wedding when the torque converter crapped out in my Ram. I dealt with Bill and as soon as my truck arrived at his shop he immediately looked into it to see if it could be a quick fix to get me rolling and to the wedding on time. Sadly that wasn’t the case haha now this transmission was built by what we will call a less then quality Company, and even during me fighting with them to warranty the parts and labor Bill even had several conversations with them on my behalf! And honestly I think that halped light a fire under them. And once he finally received the parts he got them put in pretty quick and put some miles on the truck as well to make sure that I would have NO issues especially livin 12hrs away. Now this shop not only did a great repair but fixed a few things the last shop did wrong or didn’t do!! And if all that wasn’t enough they never charged me storage during the 3ish months it was there waiting on parts. I know this is a novel but there are so few reputable shops that the whole story needed to be told. Thanks again guys!!

Dave at Cedar Performance misdiagnosed my issue and overtightened my clutch cable and it snapped a day later well out of town- leaving me stranded. he refused to take any responsibility for his error. Completely Unprofessional and Untrustworthy!
