Can be insanely busy during peak times, but the workers do a good job getting the line down. I love how good their ice cream is and the vast amount of flavors they offer. Definitely a good gem to visit when youre in the area.

Super friendly staff, the food was good and ice cream was exceptional! They also have seating outside too which was really nice (no seating I side). I got the Big Tastee Burger which was good. My husband got the cheese quesadilla and it looked home made. He said it was amazing and it came with a size of sauce which also looked homemade and tasted great. My kids split the chicken tender with fries which both were ok.Our kids got ice cream on a cone. You can ask them to not do as much ice cream since the smallest size they have is small. They also came our with sugar eyes and tongue that the kids loved. My sons chocolate was really good, my daughter got strawberry and I thought it was the best strawberry soft serve ice cream ive ever had. My husband got a strawberry shake and he said it was great! I got the Turtle Shell Freeze and looooved it! Large pieces of pecans yummm. Cant wait to come back!

The food was decent pretty good for a small place but I got 4 fries completely uncooked in my meal, but the ice cream is amazing and obviously what they advertise if you need a quick food stop however just drive an extra 10-12 minutes down to our main street

Stopped by here when I was in town because I love small hometown restaurants. I was working at the time so it was a get my food and go kinda visit. Well... super disappointedIt was almost 10 bucks for 2 tenders on a small bun with frys and a tea. The staff was extremely helpful at first. Then I was waiting to receive my food and notice the 2 gentlemen in the pick up window, grabing salt for me with ruber gloves then going right back to the grill, without changing glovess.
Soooo bummed! The drive thru is a nightmare. We watched them give our food to another car and proceeded to bring out their food shortly after. We sat at the window for almost 20 minutes trying to get someones attention to then be asked if we had been helped... no one knows nothing about nothing.Skip it, its just not worth it anymore.

Great Chocolate ice cream milk shake
One of our towns little secrets. We have tried just about everything on the menu. We love this place! The best thing Is that it is on the east side of the lake where there a relatively few businesses. Its very quick to order and pick up food whenever we are craving a steak quesadilla or chicken wrap. Ice cream is fantastic too!

Amazing food! The funnel cake sundaes are to die for! Same with the Philly cheesesteak! Everything Iโve tried is great. This is a lovely place to go get food and then hang out by the lake! My only thing is that I wish they expanded their parking lot, because sometimes it gets super busy and the drive thru lines become a mess

For a small town ice cream shop, Tastee Top offers a great selection of food as well. Their gyros are excellent, as are the burgers. Most everything else is typical fried side items but its worth a stop for lunch if you are in Cedar Lake.Prices are a bit above average but so is the service and quality. Its far more than youd expect from a tiny ice-cream shop, and the place is always very clean

Tastee Top is a Cedar Lake staple. Everything is SO delicious! I used to work there so Iโve tasted just about everything on the menu. Everytime Iโm back in the area I have to visit to get my greasy food and ice cream fix. A few honorable mentions from the menu are the chicken pita, gyro platter, cheeseburger and shrimp basket. Also, the NACHO CHEESE is the best Iโve ever had anywhere! As far as ice cream goes, I love it all, but definitely recommend the cotton candy freeze and cake batter milkshake! The owners, Dave and Deb are as great as they come! Wonderful people and employers.

Horrible customer service from the owner down. Weโve had several ice cream โFreezesโ from here that tasted distinctively of METAL. The first time we didnโt return it because I was in the hospital. The 2nd one I returned and exchanged but was told I was unable to talk to a manager and told they were too busy but they did acknowledge there were other complaints of that specific problem. The 3rd time we returned it the owner, Debra, appeared angry we brought it back and made a scene of having an employee bring it to an outside dumpster to throw it away, asking us why we would bring it back. She then said she had never heard this happen before and refused to give us another one (although the issue was acknowledged the first time I returned one). She asked why we didnโt call or return them every time (I was in the hospital one time and did return another time - other times we were home with our newborn son and it didnโt seem like a huge enough deal to go back) and why we would come back and order the things that we claimed tasted like metal. That is not customer service! I am appalled and voiced that to the owner, who shrugged.

Starla is a joy to see in the drive thru she is professional yet personable and always smiling. Deb, the owner, is the most honest and compassionate business woman I have yet to encounter. The food is delicious (I highly recommend the mac-n- cheese bites) and always fresh, so yes sometimes you have to wait 5 minutes for your food(depending on your order) however, it is well worth it. No one REALLY wants to eat food that went from frozen to microwaved to heat lamps where it then sits for who knows how long just to improve the speed of service of their establishment. Tastee Top doesnt work that way, food is made to order, it is a great place for lunch or dinner any time of year not to mention their many flavors for shakes or ice cream plus sundaes and special orders galore!

Every single item on the menu is amazing :)My favorite is between the home made BBQ rib sandwiches or steak tacos. All ice cream is bomb! Everyone there truly cares about their job and is so nice! I love this place
One of the best eating places around - this tiny, local treat is tucked away in Cedar Lake, and it is VERY tasty. Quality food, indeed; you cannot go wrong, and I especially like their BBQ sandwich (occasionally available off menu), gyros and bacon double cheeseburger. People travel here from all over, and youll see why. Well worth it for a quick cone, or a full picnic dinner!

As a self-diagnosed lactose intolerant individual, I have never been able to eat ice-cream without the fear of a destructive bowel movement. That all changed when I went to Tastee Top for the first time.I am not exaggerating when I say I came out a new person, with an entirely new mindset on life. Not only was the ice-cream incredible, but I got fantastic service from a worker named Abbie, who guided me through the menu like a professional and recommended the best things for me to get. I chose the chocolate ice-cream, and while my first few tastes were ridden with anxiety and fear over the damage I was about to do to my plumbing, I pressed on and it was the greatest decision Ive ever made.Not only did this ice-cream semi-cure my lactose intolerance, it made me fluent in 11 different languages, taught me how to play the violin, trombone, tube, and the triangle like a professional, and helped me foster world peace. This whole experience was a roller coaster of emotions, from anxiety about bowel movements, to sheer joy of being able to eat such delicious ice-cream.Even as I am sitting here on the phone with a plumber letting them know about the monstrosity that is about to occur, I take comfort in knowing that this was a spiritual experience and the best of my life. 11/10 would get ice-cream here again.
Food is fanominal. The owners are hands on and have a very courteous and friendly staff. We travel from Valparaiso which is a 25 minute drive down as our special treat, always worth the trip. Keep up the good work.

Good food, good ice cream, awful drive thru. Its a very small place and lot. The drive thru is full with 2-3 cars. They send out someone to get ypur order but they sometimes you cant see the menu so you need to ask for a menu. I would reccomend parking then going inside. They have a lot of flavors of ice cream and shakes. They have a small section inside that you can dine in or you can choose outdoor picnic tables under a pavilion.
Good food, large portions, nice people, I will go there with again in the future.
