I feel like they should be paying you for your wood and etc... Like aluminum cans at a metal recycling. They are making money off of your hard work... I dont see why they cant share even a little fraction of that??? You can just take it to the dump for that price... Every one isnt trying to save the world, just trying to make a living so you will do whats financially sound... Although you are indeed helping them make a living... I feel like they should in turn help those back who are helping them.

Great place to recycle tree trimmings into mulch

The naturally aged Texas hardwood mulch is the best you can get anywhere. No large chunk wood fragments no funky dye that is going to wash away and look like some sort of fungus attack after a few months. You can buy this stuff at just about any Home Depot or Lowes but if youre in the area you can stop in and buy your stuff directly from them.

We do a lot of business with AWR and I really can not say enough about the product and customer service we receive! Justin T. from day one has been extremely helpful, supportive, responsive and kind. I could go on and on about AWR, but I will just say that AWR has done everything in their power to earn and keep our business! WE LOVE AWR and Justin T.

A great place to drop off those trimmings and pick up landscaping material in bulk. If you need dirt, they have it. If you need some rocks, they got it. Need mulch? Well, you get the idea. Good prices and good products.

Compared to RR recycle center, they are expensive and military discount didnt get deducted for pull off on a 1.5 yard trailer. To pay what a 3 yard trailer carries for my small trailer is just wrong. I know I could have gone to RR recycle, but I was not going to make it there before closing. Just saying they should be more open with prices.

I sent my coworker to pick up mulch an hour ago and he is still waiting. He has been waiting patiently for 45 minutes. The loader operator Mario is a real jerk. He is only loading dump trucks while other customers with 1-3 yard loads have are not being served. Completely disappointed with their service. From now on I’m only buying from Whittlsey.

I love this place! They have great products and the staff is ALWAYS helpful. On this trip, they made a batch of product for me from the combination of two other products. They did this because they didnt normally sell what I was asking for. That exemplifies customer service!! I watched them mix the original products. They filled my truck bed and I left. All within 30min.

Freakin soil scientist!! Definitely the plug for the area landscape retail stores on all soil and mulch! Haha

Pay to drop off limbs and trunks. Give them time to work their magic. Then buy back your recycled wood in bags. Quite a racket, but I love that business model!

At one point I had switched to using Whittlesey mulch for a year but it just wasnt as good. The screening is better at Austin Wood Recycling which produces a finer mulch that mats down and makes leaf cleanup from hedge trimming or just fall leaf drop much easier.The Whittlesey has more chunks in the mulch which never mat down much. This causes the mulch to migrate over time more and can make cleanup more time consuming.Im the owner of a landscape company and consider myself a bit of a mulch snob. Only the Austin Wood Recycling mulch meets my standard. Talk to Chris in sales and he will get you taken care of.The Austin Wood Mulch is also composted the old school way to get its color the natural way. Whittlesey uses the flash composting method and dyes their mulch. I prefer the standard composting method which creates mulch over the course of close to a year. Flash composting can create mulch in as little as a month but Id rather not use mulch that uses additives to add the color.
