We have had problem after problem with our windows installed by Colonial Building Supply. The big, unacceptable problem is that the biggest window can’t seem to keep water from leaking during heavy rain. Never happened with our old windows. So much water spilled into our house this last storm that we had water from one end of the kitchen to the other. They won’t call me back so my husband has tried to fix it himself. Let’s hope he did a better job than the “professionals.” This is the second window they installed that has leaked. Use anybody but these guys to do any sort of installation! Poor workmanship and awful communication!

The door is nice, the installation was a nightmare. First off good luck getting anyone to call you back. After finally getting the door and two side lights in their hands They only sent one guy to try and install this solid wood door. He ended up waiting most the day for another installer to come help him. After getting the door in my wife took a look at the beautiful door to only say “It swings the wrong way” :(. Then the installer tells me I need to call his boss about buying the brick molding on the outside. If I would have known that I would have ordered when purchasing the door. After talking with them they told me no that should be included, just as I expected, but he did not bring it. So now I have a door partial installed. Next up these guys took down the inside molding and did not cut the paint away. Guess what happens when you do this. That’s right it rips the paint down to the sheet rock. Oh and while doing that magnificent destructive job, they broke the molding taking it off. He tried to install the hardware and you got it. The latch would not spring back when opening it from the outside. He told me it would loosen up over time. I almost fell over laughing inside because I know that is not true and he had drilled the latch hole a little crooked. I was able to get it working after several hours of working with it. So after destroying my walls and giving me a partial install off they went into the sunset. I called them about the wall destruction and they agreed to have someone come out and fix and repaint the 25ft tall wall, cause I am not getting on a ladder up that high. So I put the Poly on the door 1 coat sanded 2 coats sanded 3 coats done. Other than the partial install and ripped up wall the door looked fabulous (My Wife has good taste). So finally someone made it to repaint and patch the wall. The wall looked great and as I told my wife to come look first thing she says is......”They got paint on the door” :( FML. I had to sand a good portion of the door to put more Poly on. The whole reason I paid for the install is because I did not have the time to do it myself, but it turns out I was spending as much time on it as they did.

Great one stop shop for most building and home repair supplies. Plus its not like your typical big box store which is nice. Good and friendly help.

This place has its own door shop where they make their own doors. They also offer installation. Saved lots of money over glass and door companies

I ordered lumber and Trex decking for a large deck that I built in my backyard. Boone helped me out, and was very helpful. Mike delivered my supplies. Upon inspection, a lot of the lumber was not the quality I wanted, so I called Boone and he apologized and sent Mike out with another load of nicer lumber and hauled away the other stuff at no extra cost. Colonial has been very helpful and great to work with. Thanks Boone and Mike!

Good hardware store that suffers from being so close to the Home Depot. They sometimes stock items that the other store doesnt have, and prices can be lower. Good parking.

I had an overall good experience buying doors from Colonial, despite a hiccup with a missing door. Brett was very helpful though - 5 stars to Brett! I called Colonial to buy some trim/casing and got some person on the phone who was extremely rude and curt. My impression from the call was that if I wasnt a contractor that had an item number ready to order, I was wasting their time. Homeowners need a little more guidance, and unfortunately some people at Colonial dont care about small customers.

Customer service is awful. I am not sure why I keep going back and give them another chance. I have never actually had a good experience here. I have been hung up on. I have watched the manager scream at and berate a yard worker. They have sold me lumber they didnt have. They would not help me find or get lumber. All on separate occasions. Just dont bother thier prices are not even competitive to home dept or lowes. Just go anywhere else.

Tons of gloves for every need. I prefer the GOAT skin work gloves!

Buyer beware! We ordered a standard size bifold door which they did not have in stock. Was promised they could have it in 3 days. It took 2 weeks. Picked up door and brought it home. Box had been previously opened. One door panel was broken and doors were covered with greasy fingerprints. Also discovered that they charged us twice the price as another building supply company less than 5 miles away for the exact same door. Manager did not have the courage or courtesy to speak with me when requested. None of the employees wore masks despite a statewide mask mandate and signs on the doors stating that masks were required. Pathetic! Try Sutherlands instead. They were terrific to work with.

They carry everything you need, and you dont have to buy a dozen to get one thing. Very knowledgeable staff that can help you with all your questions. .

I was still made to feel an important customer.I hope Quick Quack Car Wash next door is bringing this Ace more business. Today Quick Quack Car Wash had an exit blocked off so you had to exit to toward Ace.Nice!Generally Ive been pleased with most Ace Hardware locations but this one has never ever disappointed.This is 40 minutes from my home and I would gladly build up shopping and wait until Im headed Farmington way too frequent here.

Friendly employees and a decent selection of stuff. Prices are always a little bit higher than the big box home improvement stores, but Colonial has more of a local feel. I only annoyance is that Aces website never seems to accurately reflect the inventory of the store. More than once Ive searched online for something, had the website claim it was in stock at Colonial, and then I visit the store and Colonial doesnt even carry the product. Thats frustrating.

Excellent products, great selection to chose from. Prices are high, but so is the quality thereof. They have lumber that is hard to find, like 11 ply Baltic Birch plywood and you can get it the same day, where other places have to order it in for you. The staff is friendly most of the time. Sometimes the people at the pro desk could use a little more patience.

The young fellow that helped me in my search for a chainsaw was amazingly qualified in his position. Explained all aspects of the saw I was looking at both positive and negative and help you make an informed decision. Im sorry I didnt get his name

I used Colonial to help supply materials for finishing a basement. They were very prompt and easy to communicate with. The pricing is excellent and better than most in the area. They built out some great doors for us and also supplied door handles on the same day we ordered them!

I bought a brand new stihl blower from them this spring and have had problems with it since day one. I’ve taken it in 3 times and they always say “we can’t find anything wrong” so I take it home and it still doesn’t work! I don’t know why I paid for the extra warranty when they won’t even cover it under the original warranty. we will not be shopping here anymore they’ve lost our business. I will be going else where.

It was extremely confusing to find anything but the workers were very helpful and stayed with us looking until we eventually figured out our order was probably taken by someone else. We ended up leaving with nothing sadly.

An Ace Hardware location,Colonial Building Supply has a decent selection of tools, blades/bits, as well as materials for many trades. There is a yard where you can find lumber as well. They sell PPE, and Im pretty sure I saw tool boxes too. A clean and cozy store, check it out if youre close and have building needs.

The door shop is terrible. They made multiple and repeated mistakes on my order. These include Bore holes on doors that shouldn’t have had bore holes, Missing stops, Doors that Are water damaged, wrong kind of hinges, hinges on wrong side of door, wrong jamb thicknesses wrong hinge color. Doors with hinges stripped out, Doors with gouges. Absolutely garbage doors and absolutely terrible customer service. Stay away.

Their lumber yard stocks a wide range of products for commercial and residential projects. Colonial Building Supply has been performing at high levels for me for over 15 years. I cant say enough about the people who work there and their dedication to service.

If you take your old doors off and bring them in they will make new updated ones. I did this for 10, old 50s style brown doors and had them make the two panel Craftsman style modern ones. I did have to paint them and hang them all, but thats why its so affordable. So when I moved into a new house and we added a wall and took out a wall I went back and had brand new doors made. Again they were very nice doors. Every time they were done in a timely manor and very affordable. Of course none of this would be doable without Brett. Im not sure what his title is there but he is your go to man. He will help with anything and works tirelessly to make sure the job is done right.

Terrible store to do business with. I have to plan on using an entire morning to pick up any special order. Plus, Two wrong orders in a row a month apart. They cant find me in their system when I call or go into the store. Its a battle to find me then my order. They searched for an hour and a half yesterday for my order after calling me to say it was in. We walked all over the huge yard looking at each item to see if it was mine. So much for COVID19 compliance.

Just had a new front door installed. It is beautiful and the installer went above and beyond to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. Very happy. There was a mixup on ordering the glass for our door that put the install back a week but that was okay in the end.

The service is excellent! The folks at the contractors counter are knowledgeable and responsive to my needs. I shop here almost everyday, sometimes twice a day for construction materials and almost all of my tools. As a contractor or a DYI you will find it to be one of your first local stops.

Customer Service in the Door Shop - or should I say, the lack thereof, leaves much to be desired.If you want a lesson on what NOT to do to grow a business, go browse (and observe) for awhile. No sour grapes - I tried on 3 different occasions to get help. I finally went elsewhere and got the answers and supplies ON THE FIRST VISIT.Maybe your competitors can teach you how to care for your customers, Colonial Door Shop!?!

Much prefer this to any other big chain hardware stores. There is always someone ready and willing to help you. As soon as you walk in they ask if you if they can help you find anything. Im a little clueless as it comes to many construction things and they dont treat me like an idiot but instead to their best to help me in any way they can. Plus free popcorn!

We had a fantastic experience with Colonial. They just installed 5 new doors for us and I am very happy with them. The person who did the installation was so great and came back several times to adjust a few little things. He told us not to pay until we were completely satisfied. When I called to pay today, I am happy to report that I am very satisfied! Customer service is still alive and well here!

Ive worked with Colonial Building Supply multiple times and have always come out more than happy. Their staff is very knowledgeable and dedicated to their customers having a great experience. They will come to your home and estimate your construction or remodeling needs. One of my favorite things about colonial is the fact that they deliver sheet rock and other supplies inside the home rather than just dropping it off on the driveway. Lowes and Home Depot never go to this level of service.

Colonial worker Jose Angel Padron currently has outstanding warrant that has not been taken care of for months, Angel Padron or Angel Garcia as he has changed his name on Facebook, has been working for Colonial building supply for about half a year with an outstanding warrant that has not been taken care of, he hasnt just not taken care of his warrant but he is also on a current green card.

Finishing out new basement, made the trip from Stansbury Park to centerville to colonial doors, it was well worth it. Prices were excellent, service was friendly and professional, selection is great, delivery was fast and communication is perfect. Highly recommend them for doors, that was all my hubby and I purchased. Way better than home depot or Lowe’s.

We accidentally hit our garage door. We had used Colonial for a broken window and were really pleased with their service. We called them again to repair our garage. They were out to our home same day and the repairs were very reasonably priced. We definitely recommend their services!

I went in to warrany some craftsman ratchets. They did tell me two of them were too old for them to help me with, but were really nice about it and told me how to contact craftsman directly.

We called looking to make a purchase with Colonial and the guy over the phone was extremely condescending. He questioned our research and motives and treated us like children. We’ll end up making a purchase from somewhere else.

Great products, competitive prices. Entire home remodeled with products from Colonial (now 12 windows, 5 exterior doors, 27 interior doors). Had one hiccup with a door slab, colonial took care of us and cut a new replacement. Quality products and a good selection, friendly and helpful staff.

Drivers dont try and deliver a load on Saturday i sat for 4 hours and they tried to extort 50 bucks to unload a hot load that they needed.

Awesome service, good selection, and very knowledgeable employees. I prefer Colonial over Agent Orange (home depot) anytime.

Door prices are getting expensive compared to other distributors. When i asked why it was more expensive then the last time i purchased the same doors they said “ we have had five price increases since your last purchase, we can’t just give away doors!”

My new Keys work better than the old ones.

They had some sprinkler parts that Home Depot didnt. Not sure why I had to sign both the credit card machine and receipt print out. In the hundreds of previous credit card transactions at other merchants, I have never had to do that before.
