I very rarely if ever leave reviews for places, much less car dealerships, but I have to for Monken. I spent over a month dealing with dealerships, many of them shady, untruthful, etc, and never could work a deal on a new Tahoe due to items I mentioned above. However, Mark King at Monken was nothing but honest and straight up throughout the whole buying process. He went above and beyond to make the process as easy as it possibly could have been. The lady in the finance office (forgive me I can’t remember your name) was entirely helpful, and had me in and out in less than 30 minutes from when I walked into the dealership. Recently I visited this dealership with my Son who was purchasing a vehicle. They came highly recommended by a friend. He contacted (Sean) the salesman with the type of vehicle he was looking for and he located it and had it ready for pick up when we arrived. Sean as well as the other staff were very friendly and made the process very easy. There was one minor issue with the vehicle and they were very nice and quickly contacted our local dealership to have it taken care of so we would not have to make another trip there as we drove several miles in order to purchase the vehicle through them. I would recommend them to others in search of a new or used vehicle.

I personally do not like car shopping. I always feel pressured to buy and felt they wanted me to buy the most expensive vehicle I could not afford. Shopping at Monken was the most pleasant experience I have ever had buying a vehicle. There was no pressure by our sales rep Mark King. We found a vehicle we liked, test drove the vehicle. He allowed my wife to take the vehicle the next morning and kept it overnight again. I called Mark King and we agreed to the price and terms with no issues over the phone. We returned the next day to sign the agreement and give pre-approval letter from our bank. Mark worked with me on several option even comparing to buying new with discounts. This was a smooth transaction. I would HIGHLY recommend giving them a shot at your business and be sure to ask for Mark King!!!

I have never had to fight to get my financing finished at a car dealership before especially when I walked in with financing in hand ( already pre-approved). I went to drive the SUV I had picked out online and my salesman was nice until I handed him the paperwork saying I made things easy with financing in hand. He seem to completely change and really didnt want to talk to my husband and I anymore. Then he left us sitting at his desk while going in and out putting plastic plate bracket advertisements on their new cars. He finally comes back in and says it will take financing 2 to 3 hours of faxing things back in forth with your financier to finish the deal, whats you schedule look like for Monday. Then said someone will call me Monday morning to finish things up. I finally called Monday afternoon after not hearing anything and I was told I needed to have a big down payment to get my vehicle. I said no we didnt discuss anything about big down payment. I called my financier and they said no everything is all taken care of already and there was no down payment required on my part. I called Monken back spoke with Mike in financing and he said that he was doing all the leg work for my financier and they didnt know what they were talking about. I said the amount of the vehicle we had agreed upon and he says oh we forgot to allow for your trade in that we had on the paperwork I thought was real funny that got conveniently lost in paperwork and thought I would just shell out a down payment. But Mike didnt hesitate to take my keys when we were signing paperwork even before I got everything put over in new SUV. Very cautious about doing business with again. I guess real good thing I bought a really good SUV that should last for a long time.

Excellent service esp the allignment tech.. Had My truck at 4 different tire shops trying to fix a pull to the right each time they put it on the allignment machine and said it was good . My wife made one call to monkens and with one allignment the truck drove better than the day I purchased it I highly recommend them!

I had my tires rotated in February and in May MY WHEEL FELL OFF my car!! I called Monken and spoke to Lance, who at first said he will do whatever it takes to make it right and he would call back the next day. I had to call back 3 days later and Lance said they could not do anything for me as it was not their fault. No one else touched the tires from February until the tire fell off in May. Lance took no responsibility for this incident.

Drove into the service department and was greeted by some folks sitting at their desk staring at a computer screen. I asked them if they could do a quick 2 minute relearn on my mothers car that was purchased from them. They did an oil change and rotated the tires, and didnt reset the system and now the tire system light is always on. They said they didnt have time, and that I would have to come back later. I asked politely if I could use their handheld device to do it myself under their supervision, they said, no.. we dont loan our tools out, youll just have to come back later. Thanks for nothing. I work 6 days a week and the 70year old lady who owns this car is scared to death because you were to lazy to do the job right the first time. Very poor work ethic.

Had waterpump replaced. Service dept was pleasant to deal with. Was informed within an hour of what my cars issue was. They explained my options and informed me of what costs were goin to be associated with the repairs. Most was covered under warranty. Was given a loaner car and repairs were complete after 3 hours. There are a couple Chevy dealers closer but Ill be makin the trip to Monken for future needs.

My experience has been very frustrating! I bought a 2007 Honda CR-V LX for $6000 which belonged to Kim Monkens niece March 5. It was on the lot and listed on their website. I thought going to a reputable car dealership would provide me with a better vehicle, than buying from anyone else. I have bought from them in the past. My mother has bought there. My sister even worked there. I know $6000 for a vehicle doesnt sound like a lot to some people, which I have been constantly reminded of by the salesman of how its just a $6000 vehicle, but for some of us, well....so I bought it. The engine seemed to run well, good tires, and so forth. It wasnt bad. It had some flaws which I thought I could live with; a scratch on the side and knowing it wasnt brand new; understandable. I signed paperwork and its mine. Get my keys and NO Key fob. Salesman neglected to make me aware of this. I asked him and Kim by telephone about this problem and nope cant help me.$150 fix for this problem. Drive it to town next day with my family and my son is in the back seat and says, Mom, you realize theres no head rest back here,. Nope. Salesman neglected to make me aware of this. I took it in for first oil change. They do some multiple point inspection and tell me it needs front brakes. What? I just bought it. $300! I took it in for the brakes and explained I had just bought it. I drove it and still heard noise, so I took it back. They checked it out and guess what. It needs back brakes. What?? Im upset by this point. Ive explained my situation to the salesman and Kim by phone and in person. No key fob, no back headrest, no spare tire( which I discovered when I got a flat and went to change and the rim was bent and tire flat). No resolution. Thank you Salem tire for fixing my brakes. Well. I have spent the hottest part of Summer with No air conditioning; condenser went out! All this in owning car just barely 7 months! I decided maybe I could trade knowing I would likely be in the hole, since i did have to finance. I go to Monkens during their last sale. I managed to speak to Kim Monken. I explained why I was there because I really dont think this car is going to last the winter and everything that is wrong with it. I explained I did not receive a key fob, no headrest on backseat, spare tire had bent rim and is flat, Ive had to replace front and back brakes, buy a new tire, and now condenser has went out! She growled about her neice and told me how vehicles are like our bodies and get old and parts get worn out. I ask her if they go over their vehicles and she said, yes we do; especially tires and brakes.. What? I decided to look at another vehicle in hopes of maybe being able to trade it in. Well, in this process, needless to say they wont give me much on trade and I was told that when I purchased this car I had the worst salesman they had! Im in disbelief! I went to them in hopes of getting a dependable used vehicle from a reputable dealership! Now, Ill be lucky if the car I bought from the owners neice even lasts thru the winter. Keep growling Kim; the things you do for family. I guess since I bought just a $6000 car Ill be a very disappointed, and disgruntled customer.
