This is a firm that does not understand the internet. They sold me a $150 compressor clutch, when I went to pick it up it was clearly not the right part. Part. I had prepaid online and at the store when I said Im not buying this, they told me I had to return hours later to return it because of their systems. Systems. It is not the employees fault, but it was a terrible delivered user experience
I have owned truck and offroad businesses in the past, and the lack of customer service shown by the guy I just dealt with at his auto zone was amazing. Trying to tell me that there is no way to buy a spare locking lug nut key, when I sold them to customers all day long at my store. Rude, disrespectful and totally clueless as to how to work with customers. I didnt get his name, but hes the only old red haired man there this morning. Now I see why this is the only job he can hold down.Sad.Update. Mr old red haired employee at this store, was wrong. Shocker. I found a locking key for my wheel.... no problem. So, he needs to adjust his attitude and realize he has no clue what hes talking about. Sad.
Always good to go there and find the help you need. Multicultural experts and very comfortable to talk w them about what my car needs.
Silvia the manager is not friendly and resistant and didn’t accept a return of an unused and in original packaging item. I also have an active account there with record of purchase. No wonder the other Advance Auto personnel in the area said to NOT to go there. Will continue to go to AutoZone moving forward.

You should alway check your parts are correct and compatible before leaving. They provided parts based on their database and still was incorrect.
The salesperson, I didn’t look at his name when I was in the store but the name on the sales receipt was Timothy M., was incredibly patient and helpful. He took the time to help me search for the specific O2 sensor that I needed to replace which required searching their computer system, google, and then watching some YouTube videos to be sure the part I was buying was the same as what needed to be replaced. He went above and beyond which saved me a lot of time and money. Thanks.
Ordered wipers online and at precisely 30 minutes I called because I was waiting in the parking lot for pickup. They said wait a sec 40 minutes later I had to flag them down as I was wondering when they would service me.

I went in for a battery check and installation. Rodrigo, the associate who helped me, was very helpful and friendly. When we ran into some issues actually removing my old battery, Rodrigo did not get frustrated or impatient. Instead, he continued to try and find a solution to the issue we were having when he very much couldve simply said sorry, theres nothing I can do. I appreciated how he went above and beyond for something that was just a free service Advance Auto Parts offers.

Bought a coil pack. The salesman was very helpful but failed to tell me it was non refundable and I did have to return it in less than 24 hours. I was told they dont return electronics even though it was still in the box. Called the Chantilly branch and dealt with Rodney. He couldnt have been nicer and took my return. Hes definitely an asset to this company. I was ready to not ever shop at any location but because of the great customer service by Rodney in Chantilly I will shop at that location when the need arises. Take note Centreville!

Hey I just bought turn led signal light bulb which was recommended by advance auto parts stuff.. but the light bulb color was white.. so I took it back for exchange..one unfriendly stuff said we cant refund nor exchange once it open. And I dont make policy.. I personally got upset with lack of customer service and wrong recommendation.. also those mistakes or wrong information that I was provided by stuff. Today was the last straw. I used the parts finder to get the right wiper blades for my car. The information was wrong, but truth be damned, the manager would not accept return of the wiper because I had opened it (thats how I found out it was the wrong size). I offered to show him how the part finder showed 24 blades and then shut down almost immediately, but he claimed it said otherwise. He wasnt interested in actually looking. Congratulations-I have a wiper blade that doesnt fit. You have one fewer customer. And this stellar review. This was by no means the first or second time I received crappy service. Was it worth offending a loyal (now former) customer? Or do you even care?
Advance Auto (at least this location) doesnt appreciate veterans. I asked if they have a veteran discount and the woman helping me was rude and acted like I was inconveniencing her. I ended up leaving and buying my oil at Walmart for less money. I dont know how retail stores stay in business when they treat customers with disrespect. I wont be going back.

They have the worst service and it has happened to me several times, this time I went to buy a replacement light for my car and the employee gave me what I needed when trying to put it on, it was not the size when I went to the store to change it, they did not accepted back because it was open and I had to buy a new one and they are rude with the customers

I would gladly drive 20-30min out of my way to go to another Advance Auto Parts. The customer Service is a joke; they are beyond the worse Advance Auto that I have EVER shopped in. I went in for one request, the match the pai t color to my vehicle. The female cashier accused me of using the product, when I only took the cap outside to do a match, which the other guy had said that I could. She insisted that the gentlemen check behind me, insisting that I may have used the product. I would need the can to spray, she was rude to say the least. She only started talking because she had assumed I had left. I politely said maam I did not spray your product and left. Terrible Experience!

I have four cars and maintain all of them myself. I always get OEM parts either online or at the dealership, and purchase anything else (OE-replacement) here at my local Advance Auto. Been coming to this specific one for almost 5 years and they always seem to have what I need in stock. Cant expect all the staff to be very knowledgable about everything you ask, but I do appreciate their effort and like knowing that theres always a place I can get something I need the same day.

I gave them my vin number and every information to get my part, but it does not fit with my car. Their computer system is not accurate to find your vehicle. Moreover when I went to return the wrong part, very unkind and doubting you so much. Eventually, they did not return for me because I had damage on the box. It does not make sense at all....
I ordered 4 parts online, then went to the store to pick them up. They took a while to find 3 of the 4 parts (1 already looked open), then charged me for everything and said I had to come back later to get the last part. They were upset I couldnt come back the following day to get it. When I did pick up the part, the lady there blamed me because I didnt attach my phone number to the online order (presumably so the employees could have magically known their inventory was off and called me before I came in, which would have changed nothing of course). Anyway, of the 3 employees I interacted with, not a one apologized for the inconvenience and 1 even managed to go so far as to blame me for their incompetence.

Straight and to the point. This place could be a lot better with friendly and knowledgeable people. The female managers are not so. New people everytime I go no one seems to stay...also they do not price match. Whats the point. Ill just order parts online or go to AutoZone...or god forbid...Walmart. I will however say that this store does stock basic / high demand replacement parts that could be had same day which is nice.
I only visit this store as a last resort, the employees have no background in the automotive field and it shows! I can be a hour trying to convince them they just gave you a part that doesnt to your car, hopefully they can find some staff that knows a little about cars.
This is by far one of the worst experiences that I have encounter in a long time. Manager Silvia B. Is very incompetent at her position, zero social skills.. She did not take over the situation when I asked for a manager, instead she was telling the associate what to tell me instead of her taking ownership of the situation. She kept looking at her computer and dealing with her own business. I ordered a battery and at the same time I wanted to return an item, make sure you read that the big yellow sign that tells your their return policy you will not find it in your receipt, what a great way to hide certain information. They will walk you to it and read outload in front of other customers. She didnt return the item because she said that I took it off the original package, well thats how I knew it wasnt going to work out for me Silvia. In addition I purchased a battery and after I received it and they were ready to install it, here come the manager telling the associate that they didnt have a certain tool to install it, I asked for a refund, she then proceeded to tell me that she couldnt do it, a certain amount of time has to go by in order for her to return it, wrong again Silvia, your associate schooled you and told you what to do. Finaly, I just left the store, had to call customer service to solve my issue that could have been handled way different in store, if there was a competent and professional manager. What a waste of my day. If you want to avoid a big headache just deal with the online store and DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION! The 1 star goes to the sales associate, I dont remember his name, for putting up with such poor leadership and his customer service.
I always get everything from advanced auto, Silvia and the rest of the crew are very helpful, I always go there first for my auto needs, I have 3 jeeps, 1 truck, 1 SUV, and an antique, so needless to say I always have a car project going on. Good place to get your car essentials!

They have given me the wrong parts multiple time. This time the guy walter g in centerville was beyond rude and cocky befor and after. Came in for a fog light he game me a main light bulb. I removed the bulb and brought it in with me and he contenued to tell me it was the right one. I had to go find the bulb my self while he was telling me I was wrong. At the end of the day he wasted 30 min of my time. On another occasion i was given the wrong brakes and rotors for my optima. Turns out the computer system is jacked. They pulled the right parts for me but what the system said would fit didnt. So Auto Zone it is from now on. Dont waste your time here people. Seriously. Time is money!

Used to shop at the one in Chantilly. No more. This shop in Centreville has much better service reps and they actually have my online order put together in advance when I show up.
I needed a simple part for my car. I had to wait awhile to be helped, but once I started talking to someone about what I needed, I was out the door in a few minutes with instructions on how to change out the part.

Employees were quite rude. I asked what filter and oil I needed for a Honda RSX (overseas, they are Honda) and one of the employees laughed in my face while the other couldnt bring up information on it until I got help from family who came with me. Will not be returning.
