Had to get my front bumper fixed. Went to so many auto body shop around town and all of them said that I need new replacements, but central Illinois was honest and said that they can just fix it. So now I dont have to spend so much. The fix was quick too.

Would definitely recommend Charlie and his team. He is a straight shooter and they do great work. Ive had them fix two different bumper repairs over the past few years and have been pleased with both. Will definitely go back here if I need any future repair work.

Charlie is the best! I got rear ended (and she hit me twice!!) and had the back of my car totally smashed up. He was so nice and willing to work with me to get the best prices on parts. Being a college aged woman, you hear so often of us getting taken advantage of by auto shops. But Charlie did a stellar job and was so nice and kept me in the loop during the whole process. After I got my car fixed, the battery died and he had one of his workers come out to help me jump it.This was right when Covid-19 started and stores were running out of food and supplies and he even offered to help me out with groceries if needed.Truly one of the best mechanics/people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.

Called for an estimate on body repair. I understood that I wouldn’t be able to get any actual pricing but was just looking for ballpark numbers. The person on the phone said it was a dollar and then told me I was wasting their time and my time because they couldn’t give any estimate without seeing the vehicle first. I understand for an actual pricing you would need to see the vehicle but for ballpark numbers you can give me a range. The person I spoke with was very abrasive over the phone.Edit: Every response I have read including his newest just confirms my review. I can’t speak to the quality of work, but the combative and flat rude attitude is enough for me to look elsewhere.

Charlie and his team were awesome! Charlie drove to south Missouri to get suspension components for my car and it looks brand new and drives that way too! Awesome service and great people!

Charlie charged around ~30% below other places and the paint job was top quality and it still shines. Recently I revisited to get my side skirt reinstalled before I move to NC. Great job as usual and took me only half day to get my car back. Im sure I will miss him a lot.

If you are in search of a reputable, trustworthy place to have body work or car/truck repairs you have found it! CIA has a well deserved 5 star rating. I have had both body repairs and and mechanical repairs. CIA repairs have always been perfect.Charlie and his staff are personable and explain all aspects of the repairs. It is hard to find a repair facility that takes pride in every repair they do. Dont make a mistake, take you car or truck to CIA.

I came to get my fender fixed after my parked car was hit by someone reversing. Charlie was awesome with explaining everything to me, someone who doesn’t know much about cars. He also made sure to get the car done as quickly as possible so I wouldn’t have to spend a longer time in the rental. He was helpful, accommodating, and friendly. I called asking for an estimate for body repair, told me to come to the lot and wait. When I can to the lot, was yelled at for parking in the wrong spot by the man who appeared to be the owner. Very abrasive and threatening. I left immediately.

Dropped off our car for a bumper replacement and to get a huge dent fixed in the rear fender. Great quality job was done and my car doesnt look like its been in an accident at all! They give you honest and fair prices with no markups or overcharging you with unnecessary replacement of parts. Stumbled upon this place after making a rookie mistake and scratching the side of my Rav4 pretty good. Charlie is second to none, the man is a walking wizard. After getting estimates from ServiceKing and some other shop in Chicago, I went to Central Illinois Autobody and Charlie(owner) literally cut the price down to a third of my previous estimates. Like I said, the guy is a wizard. Furthermore, I needed the car done within 72 hours and to my surprise he got it done in 48 which is remarkable as paint takes time to dry! Definitely do not hesitate to come here and definitely do not waste your money elsewhere!

I dropped by at the shop today to install the front license plate. The gentleman (I forgot to get his name) was really nice in explaining to me what needed to be done. I thought I might have to get the license bracket but he said it wouldnt be necessary and drilled the holes in the front bumper for no cost at all! Thank you again! I had scratched the lower right front of my bumper and took it here for an estimate and repair. They were very friendly, gave me a fair estimate, and fixed it in a very timely matter.Very impressed with this body shop and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I needed to have my rear handle fixed and they were able to do it quickly and for half the price of the dealership. They are great to work with and will be going back for all future body work.

Good work and fair prices, but last time I went in I was treated like an idiot for wanting a simple plastic part replaced. I brought my own part in and they made me feel like I was stupid for assuming they would use it. I wouldve had them order it themselves and still fix my issue, but I felt so embarrassed that I didnt want to bother asking for any help. I wont be returning. Im bummed because I did like this place, but I cant support the way they do business. I work in the service industry and I would have no customers if I treated them the way I was treated.

This place is awesome! took my car in and had a slight idea of what was wrong with it. they looked it over and broke everything down to my terms and fixed the problem. they do amazing work and I was referred by a friend. the price was very reasonable and as a single mom that is a huge plus! they are honest and they actually care for the customer and making sure they are satisfied and happy with the job. if I ever need work done to my car in the future I will be taking here and only here!

Was pricing a repaint on my car, they were given the year, model and current color to help them give a quote. They replied much like a teenage running something out of their garage would say. They are not professional and obviously do not care. There are hundreds of places to get a car repainted, Ive gotten 4 quotes so far so I dont know what makes them so special. Do yourself a favor and pick a different body shop, there are a ton within the radius of this shop.

I took My Volkswagen to the dealer ( Napleton Volkswagen ) and got a $6000 estimate. Central Illinois Auto body Shop fixed and repaired what was needed for $1800. They were kind and efficient, and saved me A LOT of money for quality work. 🙏🙌

Went there to replace my windshield, back lights, and interior cleaning. They gave me a good price and threw in new carpets for the car. They are also nice people to deal with, and seem to care about the work they do. I would come again.

One of the best shops to take your vehicle too. My husband and I had some nasty damage on our Dodge Caliber from an accident and we got a fair priced estimate for repairs. Charlie is just wonderful to work with, such a good person. The work he did was amazing! The car looks brand new, you cant tell the door was pretty much crushed in. Hands down the best customer service and work. If we ever have anything else we need done, Charlie will be the man we see. I will be referring friends and family to this shop.

Edit: This is a reply to the response that Charlie posted. I feel like there is some miscommunication that is occurring here. I never said that the weld was cracking from rust, if you thought I was implying that then I do apologize. I said the area near the upper bumper attachment bolts was cracking because the tire carrier is flexing the steel. You cut me off from continuing my explanation and if you took a look at it for the thirty seconds that I asked, you would have seen that the crack is at an area nowhere near the location of the welds.Original Review: I brought in my Jeep Wrangler because my rear cross member is starting to crack near the upper bumper attachment bolts due to the aftermarket tire carrier and bumper rocking back and forth and constantly flexing the metal. I had the new cross member, and all I needed was for somebody to do the welds on each side of the new cross member, which is something I have no experience in and am not going to do myself.Immediately after I described why I needed the cross member replaced, the person that I talked to refused to have the shop work on it because he assumed the frame was rusted out, and new welds might not hold. I would be fully accepting that they wouldnt do it if they looked at the frame, identified rust and corrosion that could compromise the welds, and showed me what was going to prevent them from making a good weld.The problem that I have though, and the reason why Im giving a one-star review, is this: the person refused to even look at the problem to see if it was a rust issue or not. He automatically assumed from the beginning that the frame was rusted and the cross member was cracking because it was rusted. I would have even accepted that they wouldnt do it if the guy took the thirty seconds to walk to my Jeep, look at it, and then say they wouldnt do it. But he didnt even do that, even after asking him to. They shouldve at least had the common courtesy to look at the issue before making a determination as to whether or not anything can be done, but they didnt.

Great place to take your car after an accident. Went here based on positive reviews that I read online. Scheduled an appointment to take my car in to repair a side view mirror and driver side quarterpanel. When I dropped off my car, they gave me a ride back home so I didnt have to take the bus. They only took a day to finish, but I also had them take care of a water leak that has been going on for a long time. The stuff they worked on looks like new and no more water leak! These guys are great and I will take my car here for any future bodywork.

Id strongly suggest finding somewhere else to go. I just had some paint damage on a close to stock color car from someone backing into me. It was between 600 and 700 to repaint the front bumper. They did an alright job color matching. However, if you look at where they tried blending the two colors together on the front fenders in the light, you can see bad scratch marks from any distance away. I noticed some left over marks before I paid so they fixed that in a hurry, but I should have gone over it more thoroughly. Now there are bad swirl marks on both front fenders because the shop owner was being a bit pushy about me taking too long of a look at the car. There were also clear coat drips and a blemish right in the middle of the bumper I didnt notice until later since the car wasnt that clean. There was also a good bit of overspray getting into the engine bay which smells bad when the engine heats up.Overall, just try a different place. I probably would have had a better result just asking a car friend to paint my bumper.

I just bought a truck that had a maintenance folder full of maintenance records. Central Illinois Autobody put a salvage motor in this truck and its almost frightening the way they slapped the motor in there. The company that owned this truck before i bought it, spent an extra $4,000 after the motor install to have things worked out. Nothing was routed properly or installed correctly. The motor job cost over 2k with these guys and the truck was back in the shop 4 different times in the next month. Im glad I did not pay for any of this, but the maintenance records show very clearly that the work that was done Central Illinois Autobody was not good. I would also like to comment on the unbelievable professionalism provided in the owners responses of almost all of these concerned customers.....

The best auto body shop in Champaign-Urbana and probably Central IL. I took my sedan there after a curb hit and they replaced a wheel and salvaged a suspension assembly for a reasonable price. The work was perfect and the turnaround was quick as well.Charlie and the rest of the guys here are top notch mechanics and theyre always honest and down to earth. Highly recommended.
