Excellent customer service, shop owner is very friendly to every customer, is very knowledgeable and has extended only the highest level of service every time i have brought my vehicle in for service. Very quick turnaround times as well. Also, I love the shop dog named Winslow, who adds just the right amount of charm to this outstanding business.

Trustworthy. You can tell a true professional by how they respond when something goes wrong. I took my car in to fix the a/c. After picking it up, it still was not cooling. I took it back in, they apologized and fixed it right up with no extra charges. Everyone makes mistakes but I will always trust someone who stands by their work!

I want to like this place, I really do. When I recently needed work on my car, I called around to locally owned shops, figuring they would be more honest and thorough than the impersonal chains. Gasoline Alley was recommended to me by another shop. The employees are very friendly, and the price I paid was reasonable. 3 stars because I made an appointment the day before and was told it would be done by noon. I dropped my car off first thing in the morning, but they didnt actually start working on it until 1pm, and I was the last customer to leave the shop before closing. If they werent going to get to my car until after lunch, I wish they had just told me that, instead of stranding me all day. Thankfully it was not a day when I absolutely needed my car, but it could have interfered with work. Because I want to like Gasoline Alley, I will given them another try the next time I need work done.

So I bought a used vehicle before moving to this area from Pennsylvania, and its engine blew on my trip out. Through a random search of local garages my car ended up at Gasoline Alley. They told me they could replace my engine and told me how much it would cost and I agreed. After they started working on it, they called me back and said it was going to need some extra work (I know nothing about cars and was pretty demoralized at this point and needed my car back, so I agreed to the extra work). Well they ended up going about $1,000 over their initial quote. Fine, whatever, I paid the money and got my car back. After about a month, the check engine light came on, so I decided to take it back to them to have it checked out because they know the car. Also I needed to get a slow leak fixed in one of my tires so I figured they could do that while checking it out. So they ran their diagnostic test (essentially just plugging something into my car and reading numbers) and called me and told me I needed a new catalytic converter ($525) and a new fuel evaporation system ($125). They made it sound as though without these things, my car might not be able to survive a journey back to PA for the holidays. I decided to pick the car up, risk not getting it fixed before driving back, and have it checked out in PA by someone that I already knew. When I picked it up they ended up charging me $75 dollars for the diagnostics (something that Autozone did for free) and $25 for the tire. The $75 (their maximum diagnostic charge in a range from $35-$75) really exacerbated my frustration because I was bringing the car back to have them check an engine that THEY replaced (going over their original quote by A THOUSAND DOLLARS). In any case, the car made the 9 hour journey back to PA quite nicely, where I had it looked at and told that the catalytic converter is fine and they could just patch up the fuel evaporation system. The car also made the journey back to Illinois and is running very nicely. The cherry on top, and the reason I finally got around to writing this review, is the tire that they fixed was looking a little low, so today I checked it to find it had 12 pounds of air pressure in it, and apparently was never fixed at all. I will never go back to this place, and I hope you dont either.

BEWARE! This garage is a scam market! I took my Audi A-4 in due to having a check engine light on, and they informed me that my turbo sensor was bad, the oil pressure switch was bad, and I needed an oil change because of this. I agreed to the repairs, to the tune of $650, at which point it took them 3 days to finish. When I received the vehicle back, the car was giving me Low Oil Pressure warnings and I had to take the car into an alternate shop who told me the filter casing was leaking, and that the oil pressure switch was bad, and that they had no idea what/if anything was the matter with my turbo. When I went back to Gasoline Alley to request a refund for at least the parts, the owner (Adam I think) told me he would not honor a parts warranty since he didnt have the box anymore, and couldnt prove the other shop didnt switch out parts on me. Since then Adam, called me and let me know he had gotten a refund despite his previous statement. Upon arriving, Adam was on the stated that he had since read my yelp review on his horrible service, called the owner, and then decided that he would not refund me after all, and would instead keep the refund. What a crook. Classic stereotype of a dishonest mechanic. Unreal horrible experience.

The man at the desk was very rude. I couldn’t even finish a sentence without him interrupting me. He told me it was $75 for a check engine light diagnostic which I can get for free at Auto Zone. I didn’t want to deal with it and just left.

Dont ever take your car here. I came to get my starter replaced and my check engine light came back on again a day later. Took a look and realized they unplugged my pcv valve hose so I would come back for a $75 diagnostic and pay $80 for them to reconnect it.EDIT: Went ahead and posted my receipt proof that my car was towed here June 1st 2017 since the owner of this shady business wants to claim I never had my car serviced here.

I have taken my Ford Escape to Gasoline Alley a few times. The guys there are Ford certified and previously worked at a large Ford dealership in Champaign/Savoy. Every time I take my vehicle there they get the work done in a timely manner. When he gives you a quote that is the price, they are willing to work with parts you bring them if that is what you prefer (I believe there is a small additional charge). They warrenty their work for I believe 12 months. Most importantly every time I have taken my vehicle there, when he tells me what is wrong and fixes it, I never have to go back for a 2nd time because he is wrong. The one time I had to take it back was due to an alignment was a little off and pulled to the right after they were done with front end work and he fixed it, no questions asked..If you have a Ford you should not be taking your vehicle anywhere else
