Great place. I was craving ribs and a great potato salad delicious. Beans are great if you like sweet flavored. My daughter had Cuban sandwich would not recommend a little dry would suggest to request extra sauce on side, Salad was great to. Desserts hit the spot great place in Arizona. Will go again.

This place is a real gem. The food is very good with a nice selection of bbq/smokehouse style options. I liked that everything we ordered appeared to have a very high quality / made from scratch look. Its clear they put a lot of effort into their food.The other two stand outs for me:-Outdoor seating space is very nice. My daughter loved the swinging chairs. The booth style seating is very comfy. Its a very nicely done area.-The bottled pop selection is absolutely phenomenal in terms of variety and rivals any specialty pop store Ive come across. They do still offer traditional fountain drinks, but I love having the option to get something different and theyve got just about anything you can think of (we tried blueberry, bubble gum, and fuzzy navel pop as an example).Well certainly be back for more.

This place is awesome! First of all, this is the best brownie Ive had in my life! 😋 Im a foodie so this is saying something! I also had the BLT salad and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich. The person that helped us was very nice. We WILL be back. 😊

This place has been here since 1952. It is the coolest place ever. They have so many cool antiques from fine china, comics, old school signs, clothes, pictures, rocks, native American pots, knifes, sculptures. jewelery, beads, bikes. You could literally spend a couple hours walking up and down all the isles!! The even have old fashion candy!! They even have a restaurant with salads, sandwiches and smoked ribs. Pulled pork. A TON of old school root beer from all over the united States. I didnt get a chance to eat there this time but it is literally 4 minutes from my house so I will definitely be going back. Such a fun place to walk around and explore!! You can see it from the road and it is always packed so I recommend going early in the morning to beat the crowd. Check out my videos and pictures!!

I have eaten at this establishment many times over the last few years and I cant say enough good things about it. The food is fabulous! I never thought that I would be excited about cole slaw but they make the best I have ever had. The employees are kind and always have a smile on their face. They make you feel like they are actually glad that you came in!

This place is sooooo goooood.. The BBQ, the sandwiches, the salads, the BAKED GOODS!! Everything here is made with lots of love and good ingredients. Top notch quality and flavor. Everything about their BBQ is absolutely fantastic. The quality of meat, the bun, the sauce. Their cookies and other baked goods are incredible. Best cookies I have ever had in my life hands down. Perfectly flavored, amazing texture, beautiful presentation. Theres a lot of baked goods that look amazing but dont taste very good. These cookies are not like that. The people here are also very friendly and give amazing service that is pretty hard to find these days it seems. Also, great decor. The entire experience of this place just rocks. I live all the way out in Laveen and my wife and I come here regularly. Id give it 10 stars if I could.

This place is a must go. I had the smoked pastrami sandwich that came with a side and definitely did not disappoint. Also the prices are not that expensive. As a side bonus, they bake their own cookies and such which are very big and very good. Highly recommend!!

Would you eat this or serve it out of your kitchen? Paid 9 dollars for a bowl of spinach will a little bit of chicken and two pieces of black toast. The girl at the counter has the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

This place (other than being expensive for the minimalist meal, basically no sides) would be fine for adults, but for kids age 6 and under, is not ok. As a parent, this place was the opposite of a relaxing meal time. There are hanging chairs here, which are just inviting children to play, but dont have any clearance from other chairs or the walls. (Fine for adults, bad for kids.) The seat cushion was about 5 longer than the seat making it feel like you were constantly slipping off the bench. My kids in fact had trouble not slipping off the bench because of the horrid cushion, which I eventually just took off. Finally, the grilled cheese doesnt even resemble the kind that most kids are familiar with. I would not have bought them if I had known what the expect, plus they didnt come with any side at all. Plus, they messed up our partys order.

First time here. We came here for lunch to meet up with my clients out of town family. We all were pleasantly surprised! The food was amazing the owner Mike was gracious and so fun to talk to. He even gave up part of his lunch so we could try a few of the other dishes they serve. Oh and not to mention having a little fun with music trivia with my client. Afterwards my client an I to a stroll around the antique shop. Lots of nice things to see!

So good! The brisket sandwich was absolutely delicious! They have plenty of seating and they keep everything nice and clean. There is also outdoor seating which is great to take advantage of at this time of year. We cant wait to come back and try the cookies!

Tried American Way Market for the first time today. I liked the look and feel right off the bat. Good visuals and smells to go along with it. I ordered the smoked pastrami, slaw on the sandwich, plus a side of potato salad. The marble rye bread was EXCELLENT. The potato salad was very good and went very well with their bbq sauce, which I find is a good baseline test. I will go back and try other sandwiches there. The only issues I had were with the pastrami. It was tasty and had good smoke. The portion on a $10 sandwich was pretty slight however; seemed like 2oz, when 4oz would have been better for the size of the bread and amount of slaw. It was a touch salty by itself, but balanced well with the slaw on the sandwich. It did not have a pepper crust and was made from brisket, not the fattier plate or flap cut that old school purists would prefer (like they use at legendary Katz Deli in NYC). Hence to me, it was a bit more like corned beef than pastrami, but as I said, it was tasty, just not for the purist. I will try other selections and will be happy to upgrade to 5 stars if those issues are particular to the pastrami. Overall, I recommend trying them out for sure. Fantastic selection of vintage sodas is worth trying for its own sake.

It was good. The meat was very flavorful. Had the market dip and it was just okay. Id try a different sandwich next time.

It was okay. I wish I had taken pictures. Most of the food was cold and bland and in disarray. We tried multiple items as we have a big family. Their tritip was alright. Their pulled pork wasnt. The best thing was probably their harvest salad. I rarely leave bad reviews for restaurants because I believe service and trying hard makes up for a lot, and that everyone has a bad day. Ill probably go back one time just to see if its better next time because the reviews were so good.Their little antique market next door was cute, we spent 2 hours and plenty of money there :)

SUCH GOOD BBQ! I got a pulled pork sandwich and it was phenomenal. The meat was so good, it didnt even need any sauce. It was a little crowded but that was just because Merchant Square was having a special event. They have old fashioned sodas and massive desserts. Its got a neat vibe and board games that you can bring the tables. Super cool place!

I was really frustrated with something that happened while waiting to order. I ended up deciding not to eat there and I felt the need to respectfully vent to an employee. They listened, I felt no judgement, and they proceeded to go above and beyond anything that they were obligated to do. This is the kind of customer service that great businesses are made of. Thank you Chris for turning a bad experience into a good one.

Outstanding customer service and delicious food ( tri- tip arugula salad was superb😋)!

This place is terrible!!! This is not BBQ, Ive been here twice now in the past 3 months, staff wears the face mask around their chin showing zero concern for customers. But to the point, I got the Pulled Pork sandwich which they advertise as best pulled pork in AZ. 1st, this is not smoked meat, there is zero smoke flavor, the pork is dry and tough, maybe they smoked it over the weekend and then they served it through the week, I cant think of any other way it could be this bad, I threw my sandwich out and made lunch at home. I will not be back and suggest no one else does either, if you say you smoke your meat then do it daily, dont serve us your left overs, shame on you, you dont deserve to be in business.

My friend has to do a service call out here recently and couldn’t wait to bring us out! We had a yummy lunch with French onion soup and the best pulled pork sandwich!! They have a huge selection of sodas by the bottle - we tried root beer and blue raspberry. We’ve been exploring the antiques mall - really a nice place, friendly staff - can’t wait to cone back again!

Good food and antiues and various items.

Literally everything I tasted blew me away... even the Caesar salad is just BETTER here. You cannot order wrong here. My personal favorite is the pulled pork, backyard beans, corn chowder and the sugar cookie. (I used to be slightly addicted to Crumbl cookies but American Way’s blew Crumbl out of the water, no contest). I will gladly drive over 40 mins just to eat here. Not to mention the amazing shopping attached to the restaurant.... and the family that owns this place is so nice. All around win-win-win!

I went with a BBQ Chicken Sandwich. I loved what was on my plate. The chicken was smoked tended and juicy. It was layered with cheese and the bread was so buttery sweet and soft. The bbq sauce was so distinct it had the perfect flavors. It was one of the best bbq sandwiches I have had in a long time. i like it

Not impressed with the quality of the food or prices. I had the 1 meat plate of smoked chicken which was reheated and dry, coleslaw and beans,. Gave them 2 stars as the soup my friend had was decent, but was a very small cup and expensive for what it was.

The pulled pork sandwich was very tender however if I dont give you enough sauce or coleslaw!

Food is great. We ordered a french dip and a BBQ chicken and they were tremendous. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.If you like collectibles and antiques, they have a heck ton of that too.

Tried the ribs for the first time today. Had to wait 25 minutes once I got there even though I had ordered them over the phone and scheduled a pickup time. They werent even lukewarm. I do like the brisket sandwich so Ill go back for that!

American Way Market has fabulous food - we enjoyed the special for the day of Baby Back Ribs, potato salad and beans. Everything was delicious and served HOT. To top off the meal we had their GIGANTIC cookies that were huge, delicious and freshly made from scratch - we could see the cooks making the cookies through the bakery window. Looks like a lot of regulars were having lunch and that is always a good sign of great food and service.

After discovering the American Way market a year ago, no trip to Chandler is complete without sampling some of the best smoke house food I’ve ever tasted. Adding to the excellent mouth watering food is the relaxed atmosphere and open armed, welcoming staff. The hour it takes us to drive from our house is well worth the tasty reward that awaits us when we arrive. If you’re in Chandler, make it a point to visit American Way Market, you won’t be disappointed.

Perfect lunch time stop, especially in this cool Fall weather! We ate outside on the patio complete with swings our grand kids would love. The food is great and the owner was so friendly! Went out of his way to show my curious husband the smoker and tell us a little about this family owned business. We loved the Smoked Tri Tip, Smoked Egg Salad and Pulled Pork. And you have to try the pickles and bakery items!

I go to this place often, and not just because its very close to my work, but also the food is delicious! Sometimes, when youre in the mood for something delightfully sweet, theres nothing to be done but to get an ooey gooey brownie. Other times, my standby of a toffee cookie will do just fine. The regular lunch menu is also just delightful. My go to? Definitely the Smokehouse turkey sandwich with a cup of chili. The staff are super friendly, and the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming.

This place is a really cool locationIm just so fun stuff to see throughout the store especially if you enjoy antiques & oddities such as that they did have some fun with all things along the lines of homemade jams and jellies pickles. restaurant was decent it wasnt the best by any means some of it was really good ameet was a little bit overcooked but none the less not bad

Absolutely wonderful sandwiches with flavorful smoked meats, fresh bread and delicious greens. The different aoli sauces are perfectly paired with the sandwiches. Huge brownies, scones and thick cookies go quickly here, so get some while you can! Its placed next to an antique mall, so the food & drinks are refreshing after walking around the mall.

I had four bites of chili, one bite of potato salad, two bites of ribs and threw the rest in the trash..... It was that bad. Theres no reality in the multiverse where any self respecting BBQist would eat that. Not only were the flavors bad, Im pretty sure they sold me 3 day old food.

Love this place, one of the few places I actually enjoy shopping at.

Smoked pastrami and cuban club were really tasty. Smoked corn chowder on toast was comforting, like something youd have on a rainy day. Coleslaw was nice but I thought it could use some black pepper. I look forward to exploring the rest of their menu.

Fantastic and creative BBQ restaurant with a small intimate feel. It is layed out like a deli - order from the counter - and the soups, salads, and sandwiches are classic and creative. Youve got to try their smoked egg salad and smoked corn chowder!! The prices are great. The extensive variety of glass bottled sodas is impressive. The service is impeccable and friendly. And last, but not least, the food delicious!!

This was a wonderful experience. My 3 boys and I had lunch here and the food was awesome. They loved the old fashioned sodas and homemade cookies. The store was fun to look around it too.. i wish this wasnt so far away from us, but definitely looking forward to going back.
