I went into Advance Auto Parts and was met by Ben. My girlfriends battery was completely shot. He meet us with a great smile on his face. He was super friendly and very personable. He tested her battery and informed her that she would need buy a new one. Ben then helped us choose the best battery that would be right for her. He is a very genuine person! In the past I’ve been to other places and people seem so annoyed and super inconvenienced to help. Ben was NOT this way at all. He was glad to help us and definitely put our minds at ease. This is my first time meeting Ben, but I will definitely be back because of his EXCELLENT customer service! He even helped me buy a magnet to help collect my tools when then fell in the hood of my car. He is a a GREAT employee!!

Unfortunately they were unable to check my engine light attributing their inability was related to COVID. However, they are willing to change my car battery, all windshield wipers, and also assist me replace light bulbs. Replacing interior or exterior light bulbs present the same hazards of exposure to COVID.

They are consistent. They are engaging. And they know how to use their resources. Their knowledge is usually quite substantial. A place for good advice.

Mike from this location provided excellent customer service. I had Stains on my paint and he walked out to the car with me and spent time assessing which product would work. We had a great experience at this location just the other night. Our battery died on a frigid February night, and we were about two hours from our home. Mike helped us from start to finish in terms of confirming that our battery had reached its end of life, and then he helped us pick out and install a new one just before closing and in really, really cold temperatures. He was fantastic and super knowledgeable ---- as well as friendly, courteous and kind throughout the process. If we are in need of auto parts in Chapel Hill, we are going to this location and asking for Mike!

Dave and Brandon are my heros! It can be intimidating to go to a car shop as a young woman, but they made me feel so comfortable by teaching me about different car parts and walking me through what might have been wrong. If I didn’t know something, they were incredibly empathetic and talked me through it.I came in to replace a taillight and they went above and beyond. Dave not only helped me replace it, but he helped me look up which type of light was correct for my car. He tried out different lights and troubleshot with me when it wasn’t working at first. (My BMW/sockets are 15 years old haha.) Finally, my battery ran out while I was there (yes—you read that correctly) and they pulled around of their personal cars (both Dave and Brandon) to help me jump my car!Their genuine kindness, knowledge, and service by going above and beyond will keep me coming back. This is not the only positive experience I’ve had at this location, so whatever healthy work culture the management has here is working :) Thanks again, Dave and Brandon!

The people here were alert annd helpful. I thought I needed a new battery. They voltage tested the old one, verified the voltage was way low (10 volts) and replaced it for me in 15 minutes tops. Great!!!!!!

Found what I needed for my car, and no waiting in line

I needed a new battery. Went to Auto Zone in Carrboro first but they were closing in a few minutes so I came here. Amber sold me a battery and helped me install it. She didnt seem to know what she was doing but the car started okay so I didnt think anything of it. Until two days later when the car died again and someone popped the hood and the battery was loose in my car, not making the proper connections.

Awful customer service. There was only one representative in the store and since he was busy taking care of another customer, he didn’t let us go inside the store to shop around in the meantime. Ultimately, we decided to go to AutoZone instead. I definitely think they should add more representatives to avoid losing sales and customers.

WOW! Completely impressed with this place and their General Manager, Chris Driscoll!!! I called multiple Advance Auto Parts to help me find a solution to my problem. I even went to one and no one could or was willing to help me with my car issue. I called this Advance Auto Parts as a last resort and Chris told me to come directly to his store and he was willing to help me solve this problem. He even stayed a few minutes past his quitting time to ensure he was there when I arrived. He and the night manager, Justin, immediately took care of my car problem and it was solved and fixed within 15 minutes after spending hours getting no where with the other Advance Auto Parts places I called or visited. So impressed!

Great help with dead battery. Although 4 guys were help b4 me, I did get good service with installing the new battery. I guess they dont expect women in an auto parts store.

Had a situation in which I needed 12vdc for a device in my car. Browsing around the hanging displays I could only find USB chargers and similar. The helpful store associate inquired about what I needed. He then promptly took a different part of the store grabbed a part off another hanging display and said How about this? Just exactly what I needed and so nice to encounter knowledgeable associates that can solve your problem. Made my day.

A typical Advance Auto parts store. Its not in the most easily accessible location, but it was definitely convenient for todays purpose.

I went here looking for license plate bolts and the store clerk went way above the call of duty and helped me figure out the problem with the license plate bolts: my Toyota Prius uses a very specific size and they can only be supplied by Toyota. But I wouldnt have known that without his help.

A huge thank you to Advance Auto Parts of Chapel Hill for their assistance yesterday. Five stars for going above and beyond.

Normally very good and can get parts fast.

I visited Advance on Saturday to get a check engine light screening and was told by the employee they could not do it since there was a light drizzle outside. So I went back the next day and the same employee was in the shop. When I told him I was there for the same thing he never looked up from what he was reading, and simply said we dont have the machine. I stood there for several seconds to see if hed say anymore or even bother to make eye contact and nothing, so I walked out and heard nothing more. It was pretty obvious to me that he just didnt want to do it. I am never one to leave a review or complain but this experience was that terrible for me from a customer service perspective. I drove over to Autozone and they happily completed my check engine screening and printed out the report in under 5 minutes. I have used this Advance store for batteries, parts, etc. but I will not be anymore.

Chris and staff are always friendly, professional and helpful. I go there often and always leave happy.

Called in asking if they had any gas tank liners like Red Kote in stock, they assured me they did. When I get there they cant find any so they instead try to sell me goddamn Seafoam insisting that it does the same thing. I then ask for some tie rods for a 1996 town car and the guy gives me lip after I point out to him that he is not going to find them under emissions after watching him fumble around with the computer for five minutes. Ordering parts over the phone with these clowns makes the DMV seem like a loving organization with customer service as their number 1 concern. I once called simply asking what length sections of 3/16ths break lines they had in stock and what types of fittings they came with and the guy literally said look man, if your going to be so particular with me than your better off just coming over here and checking for yourself because his precious computer couldnt do the thinking for him.This store used to be amazing and the company I work for used to buy thousands of dollars worth of parts from them, but their hiring standards have gone to hell over the last 18 months.
