We had a great experience with Schneider Stone. They were responsive, professional and easy to work with. They stayed on schedule even during covid. Visiting the warehouse in Ashboro made it was easy to pick the quartz and cut that we wanted for our kitchen counter!

From the moment we walked in the store in Chapel Hill we knew it was the right place for us. Schneider Stone came highly recommended by several friends. We had an idea about what we wanted and Susan Long gave us suggestions without any pressure. She even stayed past closing so my husband could come meet with her to hear about the details for himself. Once we made the decision, the measuring and installation were timely and professional. We now have a brand new kitchen within our budget and we are so thrilled! Now to paint cabinets and add a few more details like stools and new shelving.

After driving around the Triangle for several months looking for countertop and backsplash material, we went to the Chapel Hill location of Schneider Stone based on a recommendation from friends. What a breath of fresh air! Susan Long, the manager of that location, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. She arranged for us to visit their warehouse where we found the perfect quartz for our countertops and back splashes and a beautiful granite for our island and the back drop for our hood. Susan was prompt with her estimates and accurate on the dates for installation. The installation team did a beautiful job. Schneider Stone was the most reasonably priced of all the stone companies we visited. We highly recommend Susan Long and Schneider Stone based on our positive experience. Thank you, Susan, for making what could have been a very difficult time during the pandemic as easy as pie! We love our new kitchen!

My wife and I were told a quartz counter top was discontinued by 3 stores. We were referred to Schneider Stone in Chapel Hill to choose a substitute. Susan L. politely said “It’s Not Discontinued”, she made a phone call and found 5 quartz tops of the design we originally wanted.Susan really knows her business, the material and that of other distributors. She explained and showed us the process of how quartz is quarried and made it her business to find what we were looking for. She (and her dogs) were extremely friendly, inviting and knowledgeable. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company and Susan in particular to anyone who needs stone.

Exceptional service, product and pricing. Cannot say enough about the great service that Susan ( Chapel Hill location) gave us. Susan was beyond helpful and made the entire process easy. We had priced out Quartz at Lowes and Home Depot and it was really expensive. Schneider Stone was referred to us and we are so happy we went with them as the pricing was great. Installers were also wonderful great service from everyone we dealt with.. I recommend them to anyone looking to renovate their kitchen or bathroom.. Cannot be beat.

UPDATE- Schneider sent a CaesarStone technician to view the counter tops. They were attentive and show me specific cleaning methods to reduce the staining. Service was excellent. However, I would caution clients to consider if Caesarstone is an appropriate material choice for the $$$. It stains near sinks when it has any standing water left on it. Even placing a dishtowel down, and drying dishes. I have permanent stains that cannot be fixed after a short 5 years of use. I was advised by the technician the only way to avoid permanent stains is to immediately dry off any water. Sort of unrealistic for a sink counter.I was happy enough 5 years ago when working with Schneider. Susan was a friendly salesperson. However, when my kitchen quartz counter tops began to fail, Schneider charged me $160 for a service person to come and say never seen quartz fail like this and then pass me along to CaesarStone to deal on my own. Not the service I was expecting after spending a significant amount of money.

We were very pleased with our experiences at Schneider Stone, Chapel Hill. The store manager, Susan Long, was most helpful, knowledgeable, and provided superb customer service throughout the process from selection to installation. The employees, who measured for the template and installed the countertops in our bathrooms, were meticulous in ensuring accuracy and high quality. Our countertops are indeed beautiful. We will be returning to Schneider Stone again soon to order kitchen countertops and look forward to working with these wonderful professionals again.

Everyone at Schneider Stone was very nice to work with, however my overall experience was devastating. After looking over a year for a granite slab for my dream countertops I found one at Schneider Stone in Asheboro. I watched as they put a tag on the slab to hold for me and then paid a $2000 deposit. When I went back to position the template on the slab I had chosen - it was gone! Thank goodness I had taken a picture to prove to them that the slab they showed me was not the one I had picked out. Yes this one was pretty, but it was not the one I had chosen and had less of the color and pattern I wanted. It was suggested that I could look for another slab. It had taken me a YEAR to find this one and my kitchen was now torn up to prepare for the countertop installation. Yes, they gave me a $200 credit. A very small compensation for the heartache. So, I caved and accepted the slab they had left. Really, at this point what choice did I have? I never got an explanation of what happened or a real apology. Yes, what was installed is pretty, but not what I wanted. Yes, I should just accept this and move on. I know, I know. But it is hard to pay this much money and be so disappointed with the result. So, buyer beware! You can pick out a slab and pay for it, but there is no guarantee you will get that slab.

My husband and I had an excellent experience working with Schneider Stone in Chapel Hill, as well as in the Asheboro office. We did a rather extensive renovation project of our house - gutted the kitchen and master bath, as well as tiling floors, putting down hardwoods, installing new lighting, and knocking down walls. We worked with at least 7-8 different sub-contractors, and Schneider Stone was by far the best company/crew we worked with. We researched different granite/marble installers and fabricators from Raleigh to Greensboro, and chose Schneider Stone. Susan Long, the manager of the Chapel Hill show room, is very knowledgeable about stone, whether it be granite, marble, or quartz, down to the geological components of each material. I told her my vision for my kitchen, and she understood what I was trying to achieve and had helpful advice and recommendations. After speaking with Susan, we went to the various slab yards they choose to partner with and again, were impressed. They were helpful and had a lot of selections. I had a hard time choosing between two different granites, and Susan gave great advice to help me with my decision, and was patient as I flip-flopped between the two and never treated me as an inconvenience or nuisance, despite the dozens of questions I had for her. Then, a crew came out to our house and took measurements of the counter tops, and the gentlemen was informative and good at what he does - I had questions about overhang lengths, trying to get the gentle arc in my island correct, and he gave knowledgeable, experienced answers.Next step was going and actually picking where I wanted the slabs cut for the counter tops, and this was at the Asheboro office. I worked mainly with Liz, who was friendly and also gave great advice on how to template the granite. The granite was then installed and looked gorgeous. There was an accidental mistake at this point, and this is where Schneider Stone really shined. You can tell the true integrity of a business when things dont go as planned, and see how the business responds. The mistake was corrected in literally 2-3 days, making sure we got exactly what we wanted. To contrast, when my hardwood floors on my stairs were scratched up all to pieces when they were being refinished, with huge etching marks and strange globs of the polyresin material just blobbed and dried around, I asked that this be re-done.....literally 2 months ago....and no one at that company has even offered a solution, much less returned to inspect the job and see if it was in fact not done to par. Completely opposite experience with Schneider Stone. You can tell when working with this company things rarely go wrong, they are experts at what they do and take the time to do it right. But if Lord forbid something does happen, as sometimes things do go wrong in life, you can feel assured Schneider Stone will make it right.I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with Schneider Stone. I am difficult to please, and this is actually the first review I have ever written for a company. I am delighted with the granite in my kitchen, and would highly, highly, highly, recommend this company to anyone. I have already been telling my neighbors they need to use Schneider Stone. You will not be disappointed in the least.

There was another review where Schneider Stone used material promised to one client for another client. It happened to us also. Granted it was a small job, but we still spent a few hours in the car to select the marble for our job only for it to be used on another job. Then in the ensuing 5 months they found no other options for us.
