Wow is all I can say!! I’ll let the pictures do justice to the high quality work that Al and Molly were able to do to my tailgate. I unfortunately backed into a tree that caused a medium sized dent right in the crease of my tailgate. It was a very tricky spot to work on and other shops in the area wanted to charge a fortune to take it out, almost the price of just getting a new tailgate !!! Al and Molly did a stellar job at a very reasonable price and communicated with me through the whole repair. Can’t say enough good things about them. I contemplated even writing this review since I know Al is already buried in a bunch of work but he is well worth the wait !! Y’all go check him out!

Als Custom Auto Refinishing is the fastest to respond and with a fair price for any auto refinishing needs. Al and his awesome co-pilot took one of our Hamby Catering vehicles, set a fair price, and began work immediately, Vehicle came back at the time that was quoted, and they even took a scuff out of the the other side of vehicle. Al knows what hes talking about when he quotes you a price, and wont try to bull-dog you into paying for something you dont need. If you own/operate a business that has a fleet of 3 vehicles +, Id highly recommend putting Als number in your phone. I have all intentions of rotating my entire fleet of 8 vehicles through his shop over the next year.

Quietly the best body shop in Charleston and its a one man show. I only found Als shop due to the lack of responsiveness of literally every other shop in Charleston so I dug a little bit deeper on the google search results and found Custom Auto. I called, he answered.. I didnt have to hold for anyone because Al controls every detail of the business. I can recall one time Al did not answer his phone when I needed to speak to him and he called back promptly, he was busy working on my car by the way.Al ensured that the insurance company paid for all the correct parts and he never settled by allowing them to put aftermarket junk on my car. He made sure they ponied up for factory parts and did all the dirty work for me. The work is flawless. I used to buy/sell used cars and would always look for orange peel on the paint to detect prior work... if I didnt know my own car I would think the factory fender had been prior painted because of how good his paint work was on my damaged one. My car also has a complex lighting package with 6 bulbs in each headlamp. He made sure everything was working exactly as from factory and even informed me that a bulb was dead in the other non damaged lamp and fixed it for me.Final note, he is a legitimately salt of the earth nice guy.

Absolutely FANTASTIC body repair and paint refinish shop! Al and his team do great work that you just dont see from your average production shop. 100% a great experience with my vintage collector car. Two Thumbs Up!

The owner was very personable and helpful. I was requesting something small and atypical (colored emblems for my car) and he was attentive and engaging. He didnt blow off this unusual and low yield request. He was willing to help in all or any ways possible.

Deserves more than 5 stars! Did a flawless repair job on my BMW 428i - I cant imagine any body shop doing a more professional job, at any price. And thats the thing - the price was extremely reasonable for such top-notch quality (dont be afraid to bring your exotica here). And the service! Honestly, I dont think Ive received such attentive, conscientious, considerate and friendly service - and follow up - from any auto-related business in my life. Outstanding and exceptional in every way.

Go see Al Livingston at Custom Auto Shop/Refinishing . I hit a deer and he did an incredible job fixing the car and wrangling with my insurance company. The building is not as pretty as some others, but Al is top notch.

This review is based on a quote and not the quality of work from this shop. I went to this business to receive a quote on getting my nissan repainted. I was quoted 10,000. I didnt want a custom paint job or any art work on my vehicle. In my opinion this quote was immoderate.

As others have said, I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Al was a pleasure to work with and also handled coordination with the insurance company regarding the repairs, which took a weight off for us. Our vehicle looks better than it did before our accident! Its a small shop, but we were comforted in knowing nothing was overlooked, expert care and detail went into repairing our vehicle and the work Al did has a lifetime warranty.

I am so happy that I have found this family owned business! It was recommended to me from my mechanic and I have been going there ever since. They have done repairs on 3 of my vehicles.The quality of the work far surpasses any of the large shops. You will always get the proper part for your vehicle unlike other body shops who like to cut their cost and work with the insurance agencies to get you aftermarket parts. Once I found out that I have the right to pick and choose my own body shop, I will always go here. Al did a wonderful job re-painting the hood on my car. He was prompt, detailed, and most definitely delivered. I would absolutely go back to him, and recommend him to any family or friends.

Weve had Al and his team repair the back of our Mazda Tribute on two occasions after rear-endings and each time we have been delighted! The shop looks very unassuming but they run a top-notch operation there. Our SUV was perfectly repaired each time and sparkling clean inside and out when we came to pick it up. On the last occasion, Al personally dealt with the insurance company of the person who rear-ended us so that we didnt even have that hassle. And when my husband was out of town when the car was done this last time, Al sent his most trusted staff member to come pick me up at the rental car place... and he wouldnt even take a tip to thank them. We would definitely send any of our friends there and wont go anywhere else ourselves.
