Our daughter had a destination wedding and was recently married in Charleston. We stayed at the Restoration and we also held the rehearsal brunch there. Firstly, I have to note how impressive the service is at the hotel. From the valet who greeted us and helped us with our luggage, the front desk staff who checked us in and the waiters who served us during brunch- we were always treated with warmth and impeccable service. We were delighted with the brunch as well. The food was delicious and the portions generous! The french toast and small desserts were particularly memorable! The hotel itself is trendy and hip without seeming to try too hard. We enjoyed everything about our stay, and every detail, from the complimentary wine and cheese served in the library every evening to the lovely conversation I had with the salesperson at the small mercantile shop- contributed to the pleasure of it.

We booked two rooms for our wedding day. One room was for the groomsmen to get ready & the other room was for the girls to get ready in, and would double as our wedding night hotel room. The hotel is gorgeous & makes for perfect pictures. The natural light and exposed brick is a dream. The staff is incredible, and the breakfast basket is the cutest thing in the world! Thankful we chose The Restoration for our wedding day/night.Thank you!Madison & Brian Ross

We absolutely loved our experience at The Restoration. If there is a nicer hotel in Charleston, I would be surprised! The place is beautifully done — the room was a great size, perfectly clean, well appointed. The rooftop pool was beautiful and a great way to spend a summer afternoon with a drink. However, the courteous customer service, empathy and attention to detail were what really made our experience at the Restoration stand out! We were traveling with 2 under 2 years old and called ahead to check in and Shaneen at the front desk was perfectly hospitable and sympathetic! We wish we’d had a longer trip and look forward to going back.

Excellent location and value for the money. Spacious room has a kitchenette with full size fridge and freezer, small sink, microwave, traditional flat bottom filter coffee maker, and dishes/plates/silverware. No pans or cooking utensils. The refrigerator comes with complimentary still water, sparking water, Coke, Diet Coke, Almond milk, and Orange Juice. Coffee (each packet makes 1 cup) and condiments. You can request more coffee at the front desk.A breakfast basket with bagels/croissant, pastries, apple, yogurt, and granola was delivered every day around 8:15 am. It is enough for 2 or 2.5 people, but if you read the reviews, if you have more people in your room, it is the same size basket.Room has couch, chair, coffee table, and big TV, and large bathroom. Nice smelling hair and bath gel products that can be purchased at the Mercantile store downstairs.Parking is $18 per day (pay each time you leave) self park in the garage next door or $34 via the valet (unlimited in/out)Small, warm 94 degree heated pool) with 3 foot depth. Towels available by the door.Wine and cheese happy hour.Location is within blocks of major attractions and restaurants.Staff was welcoming and friendly. My husband left his expensive headphones in the room, and the maid turned them into the Lost and Found.Excellent hotel! Highly recommend.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience with The Restoration. We booked this hotel for a weekend getaway with friends that also booked a room here. Upon check-in, we were told that the Air Conditioning was not working on our floor for the past 2 day, yet they didnt tell us until check-in that they were moving us to another hotel - yet our friends were still able to stay in their room since their AC was working fine. The hotel we were moved to was a 10 minute walk which made it extremely inconvenient that we wouldnt be close to our friends that we were specifically there to visit with. On top of being unable to accommodate us, when there was a room made available to next day, which would mean we would have to move all our stuff back to this hotel, we were told it was an upgraded room and we would be charged $200 more per night than our original price - WHAT A JOKE! I honestly cant get over the nerve this hotel had after separating us from our friends, moving us last minute and then saying we could come back for a higher rate. There are so many accommodating hotels in the area - you are better off going elsewhere!

You owe it to yourself to stay here at least once. You can never go back to a regular hotel room again afterward. Really laid out. Old brick walls add a nice lofty feel to the suites. Youll love it. Trust me on that. And in the middle of downtown and walking distance from most everything.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out the staff was great. Everyone was personable and helpful. Even with masks on you could see their smiles. We enjoyed the complimentary bikes both days riding around the beautiful downtown area. It was great being so close to everything. The pool was a pleasant surprise. After dinner we relaxed in the pool with the jets on. The room was bigger than I expected. It had a great shower and awesome robes. The bed wasn’t the best but we would go back.

Looked up some Octoberfest routines for Saturday, and found the hotel, advertising,Octoberfest, do this, do that, THROGHOUT the PROPERTY. Well upon arrival, thatdid not happen, as matter of fact some employees, were confused, but did find outthat it was all about some wine /Beer I guess, and some cheese in the rooms, for people that stayed. I guess I should have chosen the Lutheran facility that advertise a festive event for about 6-7 hours. AS a side line, the 7th floor restaurant did offer some nice views of the city.

What a fabulous experience staying at the Restoration Hotel. From the moment we checked in, we knew we had found the most wonderful place to stay in Charleston. The check in with Wendy Reese was so informative and welcoming. She even surprised us with a Bottle of Bubbly to start the celebration. Wendy along with all of the staff we encountered were great. We Loved the Watch Restaurant for dining and drinks. We also loved how close the Restoration was located to King Street shopping and dining. We took Golf Cart rides to some of the best dining in town, Chop House and Oak. We were able to quickly walk to the Historic Charleston Market. We all decided that we would definitely stay again and look forward to the experience. Who every did the hiring knew what they were doing as this is a great staff from the Guest Service Curator, Wendy, to the desk Staff, to the valet, to the delivery staff for the breakfast in the am... Disappointing . On Saturday then Sunday we tried 3 times to book a massage. Nobody called us back. Then on Monday they called and could not set up till Thursday. We were checking out on Thursday. On Tuesday for breakfast they were out of bacon? On Tuesday at lunch they were out of Banana Liquor. On Wednesday they were out of Brussels sprouts. Then on Wednesday night we went to the front desk to print out our boarding passes and they were out of ink, really out of ink? So at checkout on Thursday they still didn’t have ink. $2700 to stay there and was not impressed

Customer service? Hmm. We are currently staying in a two bedroom residence and have stayed many times here. This morning we got a breakfast hamper and four of us are staying in the residence...they sent breakfast for two. We called for two more, they brought it. Tonight we stopped by the front desk to make sure we get enough for four in the morning. The “manager” Alicia said they were complimentary and they only give for 2. Seriously? We are in over a $700 a night two bedroom residence and YOU Alicia are going to be rude to my 74 year old mother??! Poorly played. Poorly played. Easily solved. Over $8 you are going to be rude to MY parents. Plenty of other places to stay. We used to get warm chocolate chip cookies at night, get good customer service. Enough other places to stay...Alicia as the manager, you smirked at me. Were rude. Hope all reads this including the owner...

Recently stayed at The Restoration. We stayed in one of the resident rooms with a separate living space and sleeping space. Anyone who does the “bring your own entertainment “ like I do will find the HDMI ports on the TVs usable and easy access to them. Each day (I think because of COVID) a basket was delivered to the door between 8 and 9am. The basket had a couple of bagels a couple of muffins, some granola and some yogurts. The fridge was stocked with still/sparkling water, sodas and almond milk.Easy access to King street was great and made it quick and easy to get our day going. They are located in the middle of the best parts of King Street shopping. Come out of the hotel and go right to see Louis Vuitton or Chanel. Go left and you can walk to local establishments such as Stars Rooftop, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuits (highly recommend them) or Halls restaurant. There is a park and Walgreens within short walking distance as well which is helpful when your Roku batteries died before you checked in but didn’t know. The staff was super helpful and you can even borrow bikes to ride around to Battery Park or the Blind Tiger. The Restoration could use some upgrades in their mattress though. This would likely be the only complaint I had about staying here. Other than that it was a great experience.

For a high end hotel, they surely dont offer a lot. Their restaurant, The Watch, basically serves appetizers and a fried chicken sandwich. The bar cant even make drinks and most of their mixed drinks are pre-made in a bag, practically an adult juicy fruit. I came here, in the middle of the pandemic, and you think the staff would be happy to have guests. Nope, they were all rude. I have never been told no so much at a hotel in my life. Do your hotel have X? - NO! Can I used Y? - NO!, etc. When other Charleston hotels are offering discounts to get customers and free parking, this hotel is offering a poor customer experience. We were planning on staying two nights, but one night was enough and we decided to stay at a better place, for less money, and were treated so much better. Id recommend not making the mistake I made and do your homework before booking this overpriced Holiday Inn Express (no offense to Holiday Inn).

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at The Restoration Hotel in February 2020. We were celebrating her birthday, my birthday, and our anniversary which all fall in a seven day period. We made a very good choice. This hotel is very luxurious without being too formal or stuffy. All of the staff that we came in contact with incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is within easy walking distance of the shopping on King Street and the historical areas near the Market and a little farther to the battery. Parking can be a problem in Charleston but the Restoration has that covered. You can use their valet parking and not worry about it but the hotel is located NEXT DOOR to one of the multi-level city parking garages. We found it easier and cheaper to park once in the garage and Uber to locations that were a little farther than we wanted to walk. The rooms are all suites so even our room with one bed in it was large, with a sitting area, a kitchenette, and a spacious bathroom. Our room had a full-size refrigerator and a microwave oven. There were snacks and soft drinks waiting for us in the refrigerator. Each evening there was a wine and cheese reception at 5 PM and a warm cookie reception at 8 PM. Continental breakfast each morning and tasty drinks upstairs in the bar each evening. We didnt try the restaurant - Charleston has so many great restaurants we didnt get to it.We enjoyed out stay at The Restoration very much. We bought coffee and breakfast at the attached coffee shop, which was delicious. When we were finished we asked if we could have a bit of water (bagels were sort of stuck in our throats). We were told it was against the hotels sustainability policy to give out cups of water, but we could buy a plastic bottle of water. Im not sure how refilling an already used disposable coffee cup is possibly less sustainable than buying a plastic one use water bottle. Management might want to reconsider this policy as it makes no sense, unless their main purpose of sustainability is to make two more dollars and add another bottle to the landfill. We had no problem buying one, but the reasoning for it is absurd.

Yeah, this place really is charming. Staff was just as friendly and helpful as you would expect. Super convenient to King St. and market area. Free trolly stop at the corner. We used adjacent self serve parking garage instead of valet.

We couldn’t have imagined a better stay during our first of many visits to Charleston. The gorgeous hotel with fun community outlets (coffee bar, pool, rooftop restaurant, and library and courtyard for wine and cheese hour) provided a beautiful home base. We loved indulging in the additional amenities including bikes to explore town and our sweet concierge, Alyssa, offering to drive us to lunch on a golf cart one day. It’s clear there is an eye for detail and the warm and attentive hotel management from Cody, Joe and everyone on site made us feel extra special for our anniversary trip... as did the daily breakfast picnic baskets delivered to our room. The Restoration hotel has set a new bar for us, and exudes a charm and excellence that every boutique hotel should hope for.

We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful loft hotel, right in the center of downtown Charleston. The room was spectacular; nice furnished, high ceilings, lovely woodwork, and a nice outside deck area. The staff couldnt have been nicer or more accommodating. Breakfast delivered daily to our room in a lovely picnic basket. Cheese and wine downstairs daily followed by cookies and milk at night. Location couldnt have been more perfect to walk to shopping, the Market, lots of restaurants...just spectacular overall!

Very nice staff and within walking distance of restaurants, shops, markets, etc. Our room was well appointed but on the small size. Also, the bathroom had a barn door but it was rippled glass. So, you had no privacy (could see through it and it didnt seal at all). We wanted a balcony/terrace which we got, but our view was of a brick wall on the building next door. The terrace was also next to the HVAC system so it was very noisy outside and the chairs had algae on them. For the money we paid, I would expect better. It was nice having a rooftop bar and restaurant and we made a lot of trips up there. I would stay there again (maybe), but would ask for a better room.

Impeccably styled room. Breakfast was excellent as was the wine hour. A few small hiccups- I had to hunt down my own dry cleaning instead of it being sent back to my room and I wasnt given a breakfast request for my second night in the room. Overall a wonderful experience in Charleston. Highly recommend.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend who stayed here. Its definitely a cool spot. Very different vibe from most hotels. I also really enjoyed the after hours wine they leave for the guests in a first floor library. The classic car rental service is a great option if you really love cars.

One of the most beautiful hotels Ive ever stayed in: the rooms are big, comfortable and include amenities like a big kitchen, washer and dryer, and separate living room making them more akin to luxury apartments than hotel rooms.Theres a free happy hour in the library between five and six that offers decent wineand crackers. The worst and most incomprehensible part of this hotel is the absurdly small breakfast served in a basket to your room; make sure to double or even triple your order.

My wife and I stayed here for our wedding weekend. We stayed in a one bedroom residence with a terrace and it was AWESOME! It served as a great headquarters the whole weekend for our family and wedding parties to meet up and get ready for the big event, while also giving us enough room to store the ridiculous amount of clothes and random things we needed for the entire weekend. The service was also incredible (everyone from the valet/doormen to the manager on site). They were super accommodating and friendly. And The Watch rooftop restaurant has great food, drinks, and service as well. Would definitely stay here again if we had to do it all over.

Room was large, but very worn. Carpet was in need of a serious cleaning. Grout in bathroom was gross. 2 of the 4 nights we had to call the front desk to tell them about the horrific banging and scraping noises coming from the room/floor above us. Staff was very friendly and the location was great!
