My 5 yo loves this place. They have the neatest gifts

Every time I have come in to get model trains Ive always been disappointed!! Was there today and wont be back... I keep trying thinking theyll have more and never do... look online if youre going to buy things for your hobby!!

Was greeted on my way in the door. The employee that greeted me helped me through my decision and purchasing of a RC car. He was a wealth of knowledge on needed accessories to get the car to do exactly what I want. Their selection of cars was pretty good. If and when I am in the market for a RC boat, I will definitely but from here. I will also but my accessories and parts here.

Some great people, had a great time talking to the staff. Will be there again.

Its a great local hobby and game shop and the only one of their caliber in West Ashley or James Island. Granted there are better game stores if you are willing to drive but I think whatever they lack in selection they make up for in customer service and friendliness. They will actually one out from behind the counter to play gears or engage customers and they remembered me after my first visit.

Excellent store. They have a great selection (a little bit of something for everyone). Especially for those who build and paint models, they have everything youd need. Helpful staff too.

Ive been there now 2 times in as many weeks and both times was offered assistance by staff in order to fulfill my needs. I am a train buff and do wish they had more inventory in those regards but that would not change my rating. Models and RC cars everywhere if thats what your looking for. I will always make it a point to stop by when in the Charleston area.

My husband is a modeler and loves Hobby Town USA. They had a great sale on models so while he was shopping I had a fun chatting with the staff. We left with three models and good memories!

So compared to the store in Mt. Pleasant. This store has less RC airplane stuff ( there were about 6 planes). A few RC cars, plastic models, childrens toys, board top game pieces and I think I over heard some people talking about it being a place to actually play DnD and War Hammer and Magic.

Helpful staff and a diverse selection of hobby/enthusiast r/c equipment. Also has a decent section dedicated to tabletop games.

Great friendly service. They had the parts in stock that I needed for my sons RC car. They helped me understand how to repair the car and gave my son tips on how to prevent the same mechanical damage in the future.

The store is great for arts, crafts, etc... The service is great and the staff are knowledgeable.

Great help, very knowledgable. Unique models (sci fi, classic. etc) crafts, tester paints, puzzles, trains, RC cars, things you wont find at Micheals or Target. Buy Local!

11/21 - called at 9:30 and answering machine said they opened at 10am. Drove half an hour, sign on door says theyre opened at 10am and she finally strolls in to unlock the doors at 10:20amMaybe your time isnt valuable but mine is.Also, After multiple phone calls about never getting my emails with the discounts, I still dont get them. This is why people shop online. Cheaper prices and less hassles...

Great selection and even better community, friday night magic, dungeons and dragons, warhammer, great people, friendly place, there is always something going on.

All they cared about was selling me an electric vehicle. I just came in to get some help with my nitro tmax and they looked at me like I was stupid. They said they didnt know anything about nitro? Realy? You work where they sell Traxxas brand stuff? Traxxas shouldnt even sell there stuff there! Didnt even wanna see my truck. They just kept telling me how much better electric was. What a waste of a trip! I am going to tell my friend not to go there to buy his!!!

This store has everything you need for rc planes, cars, boats. Lots of stuff for train modeling as well as plastic models of all sorts but a majority military models.

Where do I begin to explain how bad this local hobby stores customer service is. At the beginning of September I finally gave in and decided to get some help repairing my RC. Dropped it off to the shop and talked with a guy that I cannot remembers name but the is the only guy with any customer service skills he quoted me a price with a discount due to it being a fairly easy fix. 3 weeks go by and I havent heard a thing. Give them a call and they tell me well if its not here in the shop I guess its not ready, call back another time, call back up there a few days later and they say that its sitting here and ready. No phone call to let me know. Get there to pick it up and buy some gas for the car and when im given the total its the full price for repair no discount I was told I would be given. Even after it the repairs didnt take full allocated time. The older guy says hes new and has no clue and there are no discounts given. Wanted my car so paid the full price. Only to realize after I get home that the gas rang up more then the actual sticker on the bottle and that while repairing the car they broke the pullstring on my brand new engine. At this point im a bit upset. Call them and explain the situation to the older guy that rang me up his name is Frank. Frank says hes gonna contact the tech that did the work and find out what to do. Get a call back for Frank to tell me If you go ahead and buy the pullnstring part the tech said he will replace it for free. A bit confused I asked Frank why would I be responsible for paying for the replacement part. He stated well at least the work will be free, I dont lnow what to tell you. I ask to talk to manager and am told hes not there and he is only available certain week days between 10am and 2pm. After a few days I finally get in touch with the manager named AJ he tell me I shouldnt have to pay for it. He was going to look in to getting the part. This is around the first week of October. I dont hear anything for a few days and I call back and am told they will replace it but cant get the part as the company is on back order and he cant get it until Oct. 31. Though I check mulitple hobby websites and its in stock. Once again receive no phone call. Nov. 2 or 3 I call the shop yet again and am told he doesnt know where the part is and he will call me back with an update. After 3 months of being given the run around. I finally got the part today Dec. 8th not for them to install and fix what they broke. For me to fix it. Though I had already decided I would not give my car back to them this blew my mind. As a company that is already struggling as thats why they closed the mt pleasant location you would think taking care of thw customers you have would be priority. AVOID THE HEADACHE AND WASTE OF TIME.

Ive been in there several times. The older gentleman now working the counter is a argumentative person. He has no idea what hes talking about, and is overall a nuisance. The manager hates honering website prices and makes you feel like your stealing from him when he does honor them. The older gentleman has no idea what scale is in relation to RC cars. I doubt Ill ever go in again. The Hobbytown in Columbia, SC or Extreme RC in Ladson, SC will probably be my LHS from now on if I have to go to a physical store. Not every person in the store is a jackwagon, but its a good majority.

Not once have they had what I was looking for and a couple of times tried to sell me something I did not want.

Call ahead.. Ive gone there several times looking to spend a lot of money and each time they didnt have what I wanted in stock. ex: They have a wall of batteries but no battery connectors
