Nilson moving and storage is the best! They packed our entire house and stored our items for 2 years. Our packing, pick up and delivery crew were on time, professional and efficient. We recently had our things removed from storage and returned to us. Special thanks to Matthew, “Q” and Tomy (he helped with our move out as well). Everything was returned in great shape.I’m a very happy customer.

David from Nilson Van and Storage was the absolute best! He moved our Guild Mortgage office from N. Charleston to Mount Pleasant and was so amazing even with move date changes, junk removal, cubicle moving, and so much more! Everyone who was a part of the move was phenomenal! I would recommend Nilson to anyone in need of top notch service and the best in moving. Thank you guys so much, you were amazing!

Incredible! I had an incredible experience with these guys while moving. This year (2020) as a busy physician completing fellowship training while facilitating a move from a major city, I was the victim of a moving scam which I am currently in the process of reporting / fighting to get my money back (>$1,000).After the company (Mayflower) moved all of my things to the destination movers (Nilson Van & Storage - also Mayflower). I was easily able to contact them and discuss / coordinate what to expect. They were incredibly patient and honest on the phone, even through my paranoia following the prior experience. Honestly, I cant give enough positive feedback about my experience with these guys. They really treated me like a human being, rather than a number on a page of necessary tasks...which feels rare these days in America. My advice / take (Take it for what it is worth):Their rates are completely reasonable, and you should tip the people who are moving your stuff. When it comes to moving your stuff...If something seems too good to be true, it is. Choose a reasonable rate, pay it, and be confident in that decision. These guys were reasonable, honest, professional, and human...which is exactly what you want from a moving company.Just incredible. Would definitely do again.Thank you guys, sincerely. Will keep in touch.

Cant say enough great things about my moving crew. I was lucky enough to work with Clark Porchers team. They were friendly, helpful, and QUICK. This was my first move and they were so helpful and professional. We had a few damaged items from another moving companys packing team and Clarks team walked me through how to handle the claims process, even taking pictures themselves to help me document.

Mayflower/Nilson and Co. did a great job. This was my first professional move and it was cross country as well. My wife and I packed everything ourselves, she being the more meticulous. Packing is AT LEAST half of what prevents damage to your possessions, but self-packing is by far how you save the most money on a professional move.Loading went smoothly and efficiently, the crew carefully wrapped each piece in moving blankets secured with elastic cords or shrink wrap, no damage to walls or doors moving large furniture pieces and appliances, including a large refrigerator and washing machine down 14 stairs of an elevated house. Unloading in Idaho was also smooth and efficient. Very minimal damage to possessions including some dented cardboard boxes but contents were fine. No fragile items broken (bubble wrap - the greatest invention for moving), only one small piece of trim on a chest was damaged which, given the size of the move and the distance I felt, was more than acceptable. I have always moved myself in the past and always with far more damage. When you need pros, you need pros. Jeremiah Johnson, the driver was great and Theresa Barton, the move coordinator, was readily available before, during and after the move; excellent communication. Highly recommended.

Excellent experience with packing, long distance move and unpacking and set-up. Have used Mayflower before with excellent results. Driver was very respectful and helpful. Crews at origination and destination with intermediate stop for storage were very capable, careful, friendly and accommodating. Should we move another time, we would definitely contract with Mayflower.Jake B.

The stress they just caused my wife after cancer and a very long recovery and move landed her in the hospital today. They are the most unprofessional, unfriendly and untrustworthy vindictive business I have ever dealt with and I am 72 years old and have moved many, many times to many cities. I do not recommend you involve yourselves with this company in anyway. They will run you over.

I moved from Switzerland to Wisconsin, Nilson was nice enough to deliver my pod FOR FREE from Chicago to me (4 hrs away) because they were coming to this area anyway. I packed the boxes in Switz and their partner co packed things into a homemade box. Everything was packed nice and tight and not ONE thing was damaged. Would recommend them at least from my experience.

We recently had a Navy move and Nilson moving and storage was assigned to us. Upon arrival at our new location, we were informed there was chemical damage to our furniture. I had set aside a box of cleaning and hazardous materials for my husband to put in the uhaul (open box clearly displaying 20 different bottles). The packers were a few hours late the morning of and were in a hurry to get things done. Both chest of drawers for our bed set along with a mirror to a dresser, our computer desk, and a painting have sever chemical damage. A 55inch tv is cracked and an entire wardrobe box also had chemicals soak through. While we were clearly upset, the navy was/is currently helping us get compensated for it. My anger (and reason for this review) comes from someone at the company telling our navy move claims rep that they kept having to unpack the box of chemicals because I kept repacking it to be moved. This is an absolute lie as I wanted the box moved with us so I could clean the home when we got there. They had packaged the box just like everything else. Our claims rep told us it is some of the most damage she has seen on a move.Once again, I was over the damage. We will be compensated and we are aware things happen. My anger comes from the lack of accountability from their office.Update in response to companies response: I am fully aware of what items can and cant be shipped through moving companies as this was not my first move That is why every chemical in the house was set aside in a clear, open box and why my husband and I rented a uhaul (out of pocket) for our 3,000 mile journey. I had no need to sneak and repack the materials with your shipment. I believe your own employees would be a better recipients of that list of materials you arent able to move.

Other than exhausting, it was a pleasant experience. On schedule and no surprises. Joe Sayas, the Mayflower driver, and Bethany Martin made the ordeal reasonable and safe. Would recommend Mayflower and Nilson for a move again.

Ive moved ten times in the past twenty years and the move by Nilson Van and Storage was positively the worst. We were missing several boxes and a container of over $400 in silk material and we were not allowed to come to the warehouse to look for them. We paid for new boxes and were instead given boxes recycled many times given by the number of names on the boxes. We had a non-functional 40 inch flat screen TV substituted for a new Samsung Smart TV. Our lawyer, who was brought in to try and give us some relief was treated rudely. My recommendation to anyone would be to stay away from NIlson. The manifest with all the boxes listed was useless because there were no stickers on the boxes when they arrived at the destination. In fact, we had a box from someone elses shipment, which tells me our boxes were unloaded then reloaded. We were also missing the glass lens from a one of a kind $700 dining room chandelier. Gone like the rest of our missing boxes.

Poorly trained packers. Do NOT recommend. Several items broken because they did not pack correctly. Beware.

I just moved from Charleston (Goose Creek), SC to Belleville, IL, and got my stuff a few days ago. WOW!! They dont pack your stuff correctly. I had airplane models in a box that cost me about $500 and they were just thrown in there with no paper in between them, so there was one damaged that I have to claim. Well, they did put paper between the heavy paper hold punch and other computer supplies ON TOP OF THEM in the same box!! I agree with lisanicewonger and her comment, MAKE THEM WRAP ALL YOUR FURNITURE. My book case had a hole blown into the back; somehow it made it to Charleston from Germany with no damage, but this short distance move it was heavily damaged and needs to be replaced because theres no back to it now. They will tell you the driver inventories the big furniture...dont take the chance, make them do their job and pack EVERYTHING. I have stuff missing parts and all sorts of problems. This is probably my worst move and will cost the most to replace everything. Ive made moves and claimed less stuff...they dont give you full replacement, so Ill probably come out of pocket. SUPERVISE, and make them pack your stuff the way you want it...if youre alone like I was and trying to supervise in a pretty big apartment; ask a friend to help you out. Its rediculous that in Germany they pack and take your stuff in a day, and here they barely pack half your stuff before the day is over then take another day to do the rest. The driver will put furniture pads, but if you know it will be in storage they will come off and will cram your stuff in a crate...oh well if something falls off your furniture b/c it wont be there after. To prevent this make sure your stuff is covered with something other than the drivers furniture cloth pads because they belong to the driver. I should work for them. Just throw stuff in a box? I can do that. I wouldnt even come close to calling it expert packing.

I would never recommend them for any move. Mine was an international move to Australia. I did not get what I paid for. They did not even care or would address my complaints, I had three witnesses and it did not matter. Worst company ever! Dont waste your time.
