This is an amazing West Marine. The staff is Cordial and professional. They go above and beyond for customer satisfaction. I would recommend people to buy Paddle boards from here whenever they are available. Great boards for good prices 👍.

1st and last visit to this store. I’ve been a customer of West Marine for 15 years with a commercial account. Today the green haired woman behind the counter who claimed to be the store manager grilled me and asked for my medical card to be exempt from wearing a mask. She wanted to know what my medical exception was and see proof of my medical history. I explained that I had recovered from the illness a few months ago and my oxygen levels weren’t yet up and a mask made me come close to passing out. I had my young son with me. She was very belligerent and smart mouthed. I have a hard time believing a company like West Marine would hire this young smart mouth as manager. No product is valuable enough for me to endure being asked for my medical papers. She claimed to be a registered nurse. Speaking with upper management was fruitless. Greg didn’t seem to care.

The stock levels inside the store are very light. There is not a singular category that looks full. I imagine that logistics has been a major issue. I did pick up something, though I wasnt necessarily in need, but wanted to invest in the business. I asked Glenn the manager if he was aware of any upcoming sales that would include Batteries, but he said they dont really get advance notice. I though the pricing was a high in comparison to what I have seen with similar specs elsewhere. I mentioned that to him and was surprised he didnt offer to price match. But maybe its not the policy.With all that said, still think this is an excellent place to go, when fully operational..

Very good service and inventory. Its nice to have a marine store you can go to look at an item in person. Staff is very helpful. I bought several higher dollar items the last year or so. Marine cooler, 3-marine radios, ACR Location Beacon etc. I dont mind paying full retail price when something is in stock, the merchant is being helpful on model choices to buy and just having a store here in Charlotte. It costs money to operate a brick and motrar store and I like to by local. Its so nice to have a store when youre in a pinch, you wont get that online.

This is my first year owning a boat. I needed to winterize my boat and Dina??? 11/20/16 working in the morning was wonderful. She spent a lot of time explaining the best products to use and was extremely welcoming. The only place I will shop for my boating needs will be west marine because of her. Thank you!!!!!

They generally have a good level of boat supplies and parts here.

All the toiletries a struggling veteran can use. They also have clothes and shoes. All you need is your VA Identification card!! No money needed they also take cash and product donations.

West Marine is both loved and hated by most boaters. Their prices are usually high and you usually walk out of there with stuff you never intended to buy or even knew you needed. But they are one of the few retail brick and mortar establishments in Charlotte that carry a nice inventory of boating supplies. I went online yesterday looking for some rubber stripping for my dock. They had it in 10 ft lengths on Amazon for $34 per strip but it came in rolls and I would have to wait 2 days. West Marine had the same thing in 10 straight strips (much preferred as it wasnt rolled and wavy) and it was right there in stock ready for pickup. Of course the price was $10 more, but it was worth it to have it right away and in the form I wanted. This store has a very knowledgeable staff featuring a couple of older guys that have been around boats their whole life. They service is good and the store is well stocked and organized. If you need it today, they will probably have it.

Made the mistake of coming back here again. I needed a part ASAP. As always prices are way too high and the people that work at this location know nothing about boats. Needed help finding a bilge hose and he said he didnt really know enough about it to answer any questions. This company wouldnt be around if there werent people like me needing something quick and not able to wait for something to be shipped. Greedy fools.

Good for boating stuff but no longer for fishing...focus is boat, kayak, water toys and clothing.

Very nice staff. Walked me right to what i was looking for but let me examine which product would work for me...even offering to let me open the package to examine more closely. The staff member had merely basic knowledge but what i would expect with so many skus. Young staff when I went in, but I could tell they were under the watchful and approving eye of the owner or manager.I wish I had thought of them sooner as they have some different marine items and repair options you wont find elsewhere.I wound up getting a kit for epoxy repair I could use on my paddleboard AND my old fiberglass kayak. MUCH better product than the Solarez I had previously ordered elsewhere.

Really friendly helpful employees here and every marine accessory you could possibly need.

Order a part was told the part cost one price over the phone 4 weeks later when the part comes in the price is 3 times as much i will never shop here again.
