Went to Art of Shaving in Charlotte based upon my previous experience in one in Orlando. My experience in Orlando was AWESOME! Charlotte...not so much.Making the appointment was painless. Was called by someone at Art of Shaving to say that they made a mistake and my appointment would be 45 min later. Not a big deal. Arrived 2 minutes late, found out they gave my appointment to someone they thought was me. So I now had to wait even longer. The only saving grace was the woman at the front. She was very apologetic and compensated me for my inconvenience.Now for the barber. Nice guy, but just didn’t seem very experienced. Long story short, after the shave experience, I had razor burn sooo bad. Not even close to the experience I had in Orlando. Wouldn’t recommend this Art of Shaving.

I never seen my husband so mad and upset!!!!My husband went here today (He always liked this place because of the shave and cut they gave for $40).He told a gentleman there what he wanted, like any other time. The stylist told him thats called Premier cut.The man took he time. Trim around he beard but didnt even trim it down. Then, preceded to cut him on the sides and didnt touch the top. When my husband pointed this out. The stylist said that wouldnt look good and he flat out refused to do it!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CLIENT LEAVES HAPPY!!! At this point my husband needed to get back to work because hes over his lunch break. He goes to check out and its a $140! Yes, that is ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS!!!😡

Master barber Ron hooked me up with a beard trim and did a fantastic job! My beard never looked better! Thank you sir for a professional and personal experience! I will be sending all of my clients to you from here on out!

Best care I have received EVER! For years I was going to one of the other places for a quick careless cut. My Master Barber Ron at South Park mall is a true craftsman. I highly recommend anyone who hasnt been to a true Barber to go and see him. Tell him Wes sent you!

Worst art of shaving I’ve been into. Staff seemed bothered and inconvenienced by my presence. The barber seemed distracted the whole time looking out the window commenting on women that walked by. Haircut was awful, uneven over the ears, long patches left, stragglers on the top of my head. I had to ask the barber to shave the back of my neck with a razor and wash my hair...which was suppose to be included. GOT CHARGED EXTRA!! In the end I just wanted to get out of there so I paid, didn’t tip, and left. I will NEVER go back here again

Worst management team ever, please beware Monica & Shiela will tell you anything to get a sale. Yes they know the products but have no clue as how to use them or when. They work on commission so they will say anything and I do mean anything to get a sale. All other employees beware of this place is very controlling, if they don’t like you they will do anything, causing other employees to write complaints about you. Yes I was a barber here and they did everything under the sun to get rid of me. No I’m not anger just want others to know what’s going on. A great company to work for if they get rid of Monica and Sheila very unprofessional!!!!!

Great experience! Was in town and in dire need of a cut and shave. Wish I had gotten a before and after pic. Ronald did an amazing job and takes great pride in his works of art. The rest of the staff were great help in choosing products as well. Next time Im in town, Ill be back!

I have never grown a beard until now at the age of 27. So I grew out a beard for about four weeks without trimming it. Tim gave me awesome suggestions on maintaining a beard and keeping it clean. A professional barber with over 30 years of experience. Very happy with the traditional shave offered.

Master barber Ronald Woodard gave the best haircut and beard trim Ive ever had. Definitely worth the time and money. He knows his stuff, a definite recommendation for anyone looking for a cleaner look!!

Was visiting for the week and stopped in because I had never had a straight razor shave before so made my appointment for 5. So I got their around 4:50 and didn’t get started until around 5:30 from the guy ahead going over. Not a problem for me to wait the extra time but my turn comes up and I’m getting a clean shave. Defiantly felt as if the barber was rushing my shave as I was cut in multiple different places on my neck and face. The whole process took around 20 minutes and was shown and it looked good. Paid and was walking back to my car and felt around to make sure everything was got and seen 2 places on my face we’re completely missed. One bigger area of my upper jaw and another smaller below my nose. I do not recommend if your near the end of the day. Definatly seams like he rushed and was trying to leave as soon as possible.

Ronald is a highly skilled and very personable barber. He said during my first visit, that every haircut is a work of art. During every visit Ronald has taken his time to expertly customize his art by providing me with an exceptional haircut.

Nice products, but they are way overpriced. We had a set od the razor, stand and brush as well as the shaving cream and dish. We received another set for Christmas and decided to only keep a few products because we already had everything else.Beware of their return policy. Even with receipt they require the original card to get your money back so it is pretty worthless unless you get the person that bought it to return it. Otherwise they give you a gift card, but who needs $400 worth of razors.

My experience at The Art of Shaving has been so beneficial for me. Every time Ive visited, the staff has been more than helpful to my needs.

My wife purchased me an $80 gift certificate for Christmas. First time I had any opportunity to schedule and use certificate was May 18. I called in to make an appointment, at that time I was asked what the certificate was for. I told them the certificate and receipt for it only indicated the dollar amount it was for. Once I arrived for my appointment they asked to look at the receipt I handed it to them, and almost as if they were conspiring said oh thats the premium package.. I said that what I needed what my beard cleaned up and a hair cut. The lady there told me it was for beard and a facial which I thought to be kinda of strange being that my wife knows thats not really my thing to get a facial even being a past customer of Art of Shaving. Ive always gotten hair cut and shave service. So they tell me the hair cut will be an additional $60. Well at that point I didnt want to look like a fool and still needed to get my hair cut. So I agreed .I got a great sahve, haircut, and facial was good (I guess) if you are into them. So I met my wife for dinner afterwards, as we were talking about the services I got I mentioned that the haircut was $60! She was upset that I paid (and that much) for a hair cut. She said I told them when I bought the certificate that it was for beard shave and hair cut. They told her the information would be in the computer (lie). My wife called art of shaving they told her I received some sort of scalp conditioning (never asked for or discussed). She mentioned that she was told the info would be in the computer for when I came in. They had no records of that. Then she was told the manager would contact her back next business day (lie). No one contacted her back. She balled back in and the manager tells her that she told me the hair cut was $60 when I made the over-the-phone appointment (lie). So these people working here are clearly liars and so commissioned based when you walk in like hungry maggots .dont go here. For the services rendered I could have went to any barber shop got the same shave, same (or better) hair cut for $40 (including a great tip). I could have went to a professional spa with the other $90 and had a lot of other professional services. And not had to listen to all the sales pitches on all their products. They are desperate. Sounds like the company is ran the same way of yoyou have to like to people. We will never go back. I would give it 2 stars because the shave and hair cut were decent.. but why? You rip me off and like and treat us like fools your getting one star.

I went there to stop by I moved from ny to Charolette so I walked in there like a regular barber shop asked to speak to the barber to see if he knew a certain hair style it’s a half cut aka a dark Cesar in order for me to speak to the barber I have to make an appointment an then come in an ask him to cut me first the reason why I Asked this was because when I was in the mall shopping for items I would pass by to see if he’s cutting Africans Americans.... The crazy thing is the barber is Black an so is his staff . The two ladies at the door don’t remember when I ask to speak to the barber they told me no I was confused why I’m use to paying a barber up front or at least talking to him then I asked how much was a haircut they told me 45$ so I said before I get a cut can I talk an ask him any questions because I have a weird hair line because one it’s crooked an plus I’m black certain clippers from the window I seen he didnt have for black people hair I have waves ... then I ask again can I ask him the middle age assistant said why wouldn’t he know how to cut your hair he’s a barber so I made a appointment never got called I live right down the block I guess because I had sweats on an wave on my head an being black I guess they didn’t want to serve me or just couldn’t do it go thru the mall from time to time still all I see is white guys how are you a black barber who only cuts white people an charge 45$

Ronald cuts my husbands hair and it consistently turns out great. You should give him a try.

It is very rare that you walk into a barbershop & get exactly what youre looking for. For some that may be just the haircut but for others that includes the total experience. Ive heard of the Art Of Shaving in different cities & its brand association to Gillette but didnt know what to expect.I scheduled an appointment before hand because I can be impatience & didnt want to run into any issues. Due to the location of the shop (Southpark Mall) & knowing the volume of people that pass through regularly I didnt want to take any chances. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by the master barber (Ron Woolard) who introduced himself, took my coat & guided me to the chair. After awful experiences with other barbers I took my time to explain exactly what I wanted & he carefully took note, outling by comb & fingertip how hed go about the haircut. He was very calculated & precise explaining the products he used & what was best to maintain the look I was going for. Overall I was satisfied with not only how great the haircut was but the entire experience. Just wanted to say Thank you to Ron for th impeccable cut!!

Walked in today to get a head shave and a beard trim, they said they wont have a barber at least until Christmas week, you should really update your website, I was really looking forward to a good cut like back home in Chicago, now I not only drove over 35 minutes to get here, now I have to find another shop
